the hotel was a nice surprise for me as I did not expect too much, but it was better than expected - first the rooms were big and very clean, the staff was very helpful and the location close to the Norte bus terimal was really great, especially if you want to catch a bus in the morning
We arrived to Hotel Brasilia at 8:30 am. When we arrived the concierge said we arrived too early & our room was not ready. He then looked and looked for our reservation and said he couldn’t find it. We th n told him we reserved on Expedia website. He then looked on another set of papers and found it... Mind you.. we traveled since 4am to get to Mexico City & we get a taxi & are ready to take a small nap before enjoying our Sunday. However, the Butler takes our luggage to a different supposedly secure room with our passports and personal belongings. (Who in their right mind would want to leave those important documents there?) Finally after several hours we were given our room. We get in our room with no air conditioning or refrigerator.. after the rudeness, and organization of the concierge I would suggest calling before arrival. But, I will say the restaurant in Hotel was good. We were greeted by a kind waiter who took care of us well. I’d rather pay double staying at a closer and expensive hotel even if it’s for one night. Oh and if I didn’t have to give any stars I wouldn’t..…
The good: The hotel is very convenient to the Norte bus station, about a 5 minute walk. The room was modern, comfortable and very clean and the rate was low. The bad: We checked into the hotel on a Saturday night after a 12 hour journey. There was what turned out to be an outdoor concert just across the alley from our 7th floor room that continued until 4am. The sound was so loud that the bass lines rattled our windows. We asked to change rooms but were told that the hotel was full. I might have been able to forgive the lack of sleep if I had been able to take a good shower, however the water pressure was lacking to the point that I dare not shampoo my hair. I'm sure the hotel had no control over the concert, but before confirming your reservation you might want to establish that nothing similar is scheduled during your stay.…
PROs: 1,The staffs at the front desk were very friendly. I don't speak Spanish at all, while the guy who speaks English helped a lot on my questions. And he was very nice and patient . Many thanks! 2, And the location is convenient, 5 mins walking from the north bus station , 20 mins drive from the airport ( if not in traffic jam) CONs: 1,No soundproof at all!!!! No sleep quality!!!It's like sleeping in a tent on the highway... The traffic was really noisy. I put my earplugs all night but was still awaken by the noise at about 5am... And I can clearly hear the tv of my next door… the AC was super noisy too... 2, And as for the facilities, the sink was leaking ... The bed was not comfortable . The way they made bed was weird, you have to make huge efforts to pull the blanket out... And the blanket was not very clean, clear spots were found obviously... 3, and no plugs at the bedside table. Inconvenient . 4, My credit card was charged 6hours before my checkin. While the staff at the front desk tended to recharge me again when I checked in. If I did not noticed my charge beforehand , I would've been charged twice. (not to mention that I've booked a queen size while they arranged me a twin beds). Not professional. I rarely gave negative reviews. But I was made to do so this time.…
The hotel is within a 5 min walk to the North Bus Terminal & Metro station. Spacious rooms, friendly service. Clean - not all rooms have AC - if you stay here in the summer, it is an item you might want to verify. Good starting point to take the bus to the Teotihuacán pyramids. Taxi to the airport is on-call and quickly available. Restaurant with good selection of typical Mexican dishes, friendly service.
