Been staying at a lot of Intercontinentals in the last year or so given that I joined the ambassador program. Overall, a pretty decent hotel, but fell a bit short in terms of quality of service and room. Location is pretty prime as it's in the middle of Polanco and within walking distance to the shopping area (luxury) as well as the Chapultepec Park. Room quality is slightly below average for an Intercontinental (both in size, but also just quality overall-- caulking in bathroom needs to be redone, looks sloppy, and the sink in my room was out in the room as opposed to being inside a bathroom area-- just strange. Decor is also bleh). Breakfast was comped given that they couldn't upgrade me to a room with my ambassador membership (the annoying thing with Intercontinental ambassadorship is that most of the time, I can't get room upgrades so it begs the question of why bother with the whole program? I probably will not be continuing going forward). Anyway back to the breakfast- service is great, but the food / layout is mediocre. Then there was this whole disconnect in front desk service. They couldn't upgrade me on my first night, and said they'd comp the breakfast during the entire duration of my stay and offered to send up some amenity basket (which I could care less about), but the amenity basket never came. Then, they proceeded to charge me for all the breakfasts. I told the lady checking me out that someone I spoke to on the phone agreed to comp these, but I must not have gotten through to her as she only took one breakfast off... long story short, had to talk to her for good 15 minutes while my car is waiting outside to take me to the airport about how I was not going to pay for the mediocre breakfast... she finally then read the notes somewhere in the system and took them off. Just a big disconnect in service. Sloppy. Haphazard. I'm not sure that Intercontinental is a chain worth being loyal to and plan to go back to staying at Marriott hotels exclusively...

Hotel's Favorite
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Everything was perfect. Covid safety appeared to be a high priority: temperature check, hand and shoe sanitizer for everyone upon entry to the property, masks worn by all inside the property. The staff was always gracious and attentive. The room was clean and well appointed. We had only one problem: a leaking ceiling in the bathroom and when we discovered it and notified the concierge, she moved us to the room next door within a few hours and it was resolved. We had breakfast in the hotel every morning and the food was very good. It was very convenient to have such a large selection of seven nice restaurants in the hotel.. The lobby bar downstairs provided our group with a nice and comfortable gathering spot after dinner. Going to the salon in the hotel was lovely and convenient and the staff there were wonderful, too. The elevators were never crowded ( great during Covid) and were very fast, making it easy to come and go. The neighborhood was beautiful and safe. We walked to dinner nearby one night and felt very comfortable. During the day we walked to sights and shops and so many things were nearby, so the hotel was well situated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Mexico City. P.S. We also stayed briefly in the Four Seasons in Mexico City and The Intercontinental far exceeded that hotel.

Dear melonda, Thank you for taking the time to write this outstanding review! We are all delighted that you enjoyed your stay and rest very well. We do try hard to make our guests feel at home, and well taken care of, so it is very rewarding to know how much our guests enjoy our facilities. I am sorry for the brief inconvenience with the leak, however, I am so happy with my team that resolve and exceed your expectations. Your comments make us proud and motivate us to keep working hard. Will be glad to welcome you back again with open arms on your next trip to Mexico City. Kindest regards, Álvaro Rey M. Regional General Manager

The hotel is conveniently located - right next to the park and plenty of shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Service is attentive but not everyone speaks English. Overall, a pleasant stay. It’s not super luxurious and there is no pool, but I’d you’re looking for a convenient and clean, safe place, then it hits those notes.

The Intercontinental Presidente is one of several high rise, international hotels located next to each other in a tranquil location in Polanco. Despite these high rise hotels, the location is charming: the huge park is just across the street, and the adjacent streets of Polanco are filled with shops, dozens of restaurants, smaller parks, and upscale low rise apartment buildings. A great walking location: we walked to dinner every night, and also walked just a few minutes to the famous Anthropological Museum. Best things about the hotel: very comfortable, recently renovated room, with a sofa, great bed, and terrific shower. Perfectly clean, and very quiet. A large selection of good restaurants right onsite: we ate breakfast every day at the French restaurant, Pied de Cochon (highly recommended), and enjoyed a good dinner at the Italian restaurant. There were 3 or 4 other choices as well. Downside: The lobby is being renovated, so while there is currently no inconvenience, it is not attractive. Hallways are dark with low ceilings: not much they can do about that. All in all, a good experience, and we would gladly return on another visit to Mexico City.

We enjoyed our stay here at the Intercontinental Presidente CDMX mainly because it was in such an ideal location in Polanco area. The hotel is huge and very busy so it's hard to expect any personalized service. You won't get any. Check-in was not ideal. Because the IHG program requires members to book award nights as separate 1 night reservations, the Front Desk clerk could not figure out how to merge our 4 separate reservations. Consequently, we had to come to the Front Desk to get our room key rekeyed every single day of our stay!!! That alone drops 2 stars off in my review. Sorry, that's incompetence. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and no one came to remedy that after 2 separate requests. Hotel housekeeping did not replace cups, glasses, coffee mugs, condiments when they serviced the rooms. The breakfast buffet area is really really cramped for a hotel of this size. The waiters did their best but it was a chaotic scene nonetheless. We never went back after the first morning. If not for the great location, I would have scored this hotel even lower. There are 3 other luxury hotels within a block of the Intercontinental. I would probably stay at one of the others next time.

I started my business career with a stint in CDM and long stays at the erstwhile El Presidente Hotel. In retirement, this was a walk down memory lane in Polanco and at the hotel. It is still what it was, a good business hotel, also convenient to the weekend and holiday tourist wanting to be close to the cultural institutions and Chapultepec park. We had a suite (size of two rooms), which gave us enough space - the single rooms are on the smaller size, well appointed, with nice park-side views on an upper floor. Overall, very comfortable. The hotel has an array of decent restaurants and plenty of traffic from non-guests visiting the eateries. Service is good but the whole setting and ambiance is impersonal and one can get lost in the guest flow and churn. We were close to most places we wanted to visit and walked a lot. For longer distances, taxis worked fine. Recommend it for convenience, Polanco location and scaled efficiency. If you seek something cozier or cocoon-like, this is not it.

Had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days in January. We have stayed in many different level's of accommodations. I was trying to decide between 4 Seasons and this place...Price was ultimately the determining factor. And my conclusion was that it was def worth it to pay less and stay here...We were upgraded to a suite on the 34th floor as well as the club level. I believe it is worth it. Location: Not as desirable as I originally thought. I had never been to mexico city before. I would have chosen either Roma Norte or La Condessa. But it is close to the park. Nice bar/restaurant near by. You can walk to the Polanco shopping area but it is a bit far. Hotel: The hotel is a high rise that is in pretty good condition. Not ornate. Rooms were clean. Elevators were quick. The suite was really nicely decor. Bed was comfortable. Ample plugs to use including USB C. Bathroom was big with nice pool and shower. Amenities: Loved Loved the club lounge. Breakfast was good. I think the pastries were the best in the city (cheese rolls were the best). The night happy hour had good selections of Alcohol was good. The canapes were also good. Wifi throughout the property was really good. The gym was pretty complete with good lockers to use. One of the biggest tip is the free bike rentals. Especially if you are there on sunday, it is a must to do. Saved us a lot of money. Service: Was great overall. Lots of nice people that mostly spoke english. Room service was fast. Very polite. All in all a great hotel

This has become my favorite hotel in the Intercontial Group. In addition to amazing restaurants and rooms, I always enjoy the new art work on display. My favorite lunches are at Alfredo di Roma. Superb! What makes every stay so exceptional are the staff! Also, the General Manager, Mr. Rey, has brought the hotel to the highest standards. He makes a special effort to make every stay memorable. So many positive changes. What always impressed me is his taking the time to engage in conversation with the guests and all staff. I look forward to returning in March. Highly recommend getting a suite over the regular room. The regular rooms are a bit tight so having the extra space AND a bath, shower and an extra powder room was a bonus. Beds are super comfy and black out blinds exceptional. Breakfast buffet is awesome - fresh eggs, fruit, etc. Friendly staff.

A friend and I booked a double room with and added club access at check-in. One of our nights was a free Ambassador night stay. We were comfortable, well attended to when needed and felt quite safe in this part of the city. Although we didn't eat at the lobby restaurants, we did enjoy the club offerings for breakfast and happy hour. We also took advantage the airport transfer via the concierge which made for a seamless experience. The room was nice, perhaps a bit small and strangely laid out with the vanity outside the bathroom. The beds and linens were just wonderful, and ample bottle water was provided each day.
