We returned for another stay at Hotel Catedral. If you're looking for a quiet place in the historic center, this hotel cannot be beat - Around the corner from the Templo Mayor, but out of the hubbub of the Zocalo. Thank you to Cindy, Veronica, Ana, Laura, and Luisa at the front desk, especially for helping us with tix for Museo Frida Kahlo. We also want to thank Ulysses and the staff at the onsite restaurant; we got take-out and brought it up to our room on our last three nights there because we had taken lengthy guided day trips from the city and were too tired to go out. Ulysses, who speaks English very well, helped us navigate our menu choices, and the food was very good and very reasonably-priced. Housekeeping is also excellent! Thanks again, Hotel Catedral, for another great stay!…
5 stars for location, cost and staff. I had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the street with a nice little balcony. The room was big enough for a double bed, table and 2 chairs and the usual set of drawers, wardrobe and suitcase rack. Large bathroom with very good shower. Breakfast buffet is incredible and changed daily apart from the usual pastries, juices etc offerings. On offer were both Mexican dishes as well as great selections such as chicken Milanese, crumbed and bbq chicken wings, eggs cooked to order if you ask. I dined in the restaurant twice and ordered room service once (they can not charge to your room but will take cash or credit card on delivery), the restaurant was good and a wide range of food and drink to suit all. Location can not be beaten in terms of accessibility to zocalo and other centro sights. Hop on hop off bus leaves from the zocalo and only 200m from the hotel. The walking street and shopping is another 50m from there. Overall, the hotel was everything I wanted and needed, i highly recommend the place…
Our family of four spent three nights at the Hotel Cathedral. It is well located near the Zocalo, the Templo Mayor, the major pedestrian streets of the historic district and many restaurants. Our rooms had recently been remodeled and the beds were comfortable and the room was clean and was cleaned daily. The staff at the hotel was welcoming and very helpful. We got help scheduling our covid tests for return to the US and the hotel had duplicates of the letters from the testing service. They even rescued my husband's favorite baseball cap which was left in the lobby. I would have no problem recommending the Hotel Cathedral.
Friendly, helpful, efficient staff; nice restaurant, clean, extra towels, great location. Doormen helped with suitcases, getting taxis and directions. The locations good for the historic district as well the Alameda and museum areas.
It was great to have a hotel experience where everything just went smoothly - all the hotel staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Cindy at the front desk was super helpful in setting us up with a driver for the day to go to the pyramids at Teotihuacan. The hotel is a short walk to the Zocalo square and a great home base to explore the historic center of the city. The price for the very clean hotel room that was in great condition was very reasonable and left room in the budget for a couple of nice restaurants and the driver to the pyramids mentioned earlier. All in all a great stay, and we'd be happy to go back!
The Stay was exceptional 👏. The staff was so wonderful, attentive caring, doing what ever it took to make our stay a pleasant one. This hotel is walking distance from the Zocalo in Mexico City. I highly recommend this Hotel for your trip to Mexico City!
The location was great. Restaurant was good and room service was fast! Breakfast was average. Staff was nice but the rooms were a bit updated but adequate and decent for the price and location. The bed was somewhat hard but the main negative was the slamming of the room doors starting super early. It was hard to sleep in.
The location of the hotel was excellent, just a few minutes walk from the Zocalo square. Clean and lovely staff on the desk in the mornings. Breakfast had a huge choice. Lots of places to eat nearby and have a drinks Room 505 is a lovely room. Room 218 is very spacious with a jacuzzi bath / shower but very dark as was room 214. A definite must if you are dithering for choice with hotels.
The hotel was much more than I was expecting for the price. It was just the right size for me. Big enough to have the services I needed but not too large or crowded. I never had to wait in line for anything. It was very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged a COVID test for me where the technician came to the hotel and was on time. The breakfast buffet was very good. I also ate the the restaurant several times which I also would recommend. There are two terraces on the 7th floor with tables and chairs to relax in.
We recently spent two nights here. We enjoyed our stay. At check-in, we were given a remodeled room facing the street. It was quite nice. Had I been given a room facing this very odd interior court, I would not have enjoyed it as much. Overall, the price, the quality and the location make for a very good choice. But do ask for an outside window.
