I think this is a great place but probably not suited for a short stay as it's impossible to understand the work they do and connect with the community in that time. I stayed In a double room with my teen and overall found the place quite in need of basic things such as decent beds and cleanliness and it was so noisy that neither of us slept the night we stayed. We actually planned to stay three nights but decided to leave after one. The internet also completely disappeared the next morning. This place is better suited to the young student or worker in social justice who plans to stay awhile and immerse themselves in the work. The overall atmosphere was chaotic but convivial.

Excellent mission. People from all over. I love it. Run by the Quakers. Serves migrants of all kinds and provides rooms for people who work in social justice. I highly recommend it for like minded people.

This house is such an interesting place to meet people: refugees, travellers, long term visitors. Breakfast is 35 p and delicious vegetarian only. Bunks were very noisy in the female dorm but at least there's a big balcony and bathroom attached. There are large communal spaces, a library and inner courtyard to escape the heat. Kitchen was a bit tricky because long term people cook a lot, it's not very big for all the people who use it. The area is very local and yes there are sex workers everywhere but it is very safe. Lots of food options and transport very close. Did I mention there's a piano?!

A great place with great people. Calm atmosphere filled with socially conscious people. I stayed here in one of the shared rooms as an alternative to a hostel atmosphere. I am an older traveler and prefer a congenial, non-party atmosphere. I am not a Quaker, nor anything else, in particular, but I feel very close to the ideals.

We stayed here for 2 weeks, the first week we were in room I with a shared bathroom 2 floors down, and the 2 week we moved to room K with it's own bathroom. Firstly I have to say that this place isn't a hotel, it's a quaker residence that rents out rooms and you don't have to be a quaker to stay here, but obviously sharing quaker values helps (one of which is not drinking on the premises). This place seems to be predominately American run, and you can interact as much or as little as you like. They do a communal vegetarian breakfast for 30 pesos, there's a lounge, kitchen, library. The location is great right next to the historic centre, and just around the corner from a Metro underground station. It's also a very safe place, there's always someone on reception during the day and at night an outer and inner door are locked. You are given keys to these doors and your room door. If the accommodation is part of your holiday then this place definitely isn't for you, but if like us, you just want a cheap base close to lots of things to see and do then I would recommend it. We preferred room K with it's own bathroom, they also have another room which was already booked when we were there, with it's own bathroom and kitchen. The rooms are really cheap, room I was about £16 a night and room K about £19! so amazing value, there are fresh towels readily available, an ironing board, telephone, washing line, even bikes available to borrow and the people are really friendly and helpful and they provide an airport drop off service as well if needed. Downsides are: bathroom sharing, room K had some maintenance issues with a couple of light fittings hanging off and a broken side light which really should be dealt with, also the beds could do with better/bigger covers, it was quite cold when we were there and we just seemed to have lots of little blankets that didn't fit the bed properly, so we had a couple of nights when we didn't get a good nights sleep as one of us ended up with all the blankets and the other was cold. Also room K was right next to another room with very thin walls, so if you ended up with noisy neighbours it would really affect you. Although there was wifi here it wasn't very strong anywhere, and we had great difficulty trying to talk to people via Skype.
