My husband and I were making a return trip to visit our daughter. We had stayed at La Casita a year ago and were pleased with our experience. We booked the king room for our current visit. Arriving late at night, we were shown to a twin room. We spent a sleepless night (in the cold: no heat) and thought... More

Hi, We are really sorry about the confusion on the rooms, but we are certain that we recieved from booking.com that that you reserved our smallest room. After 2 nights we where offering you and your husband for the other 5 nights to stay with us at our medium rooms but couldn´t reach you at the house and your son... More

After an overnight bus ride and an early morning visit to Teotihuacán, arriving to La Casita del Patio Verde was a huge relief. This quaint hotel/b&b offers 2 bedrooms next to each other on the second floor of a very charming home, and one private cabana separate from the house facing a well-kept patio and garden. The rooms are tastefully... More

The location is in Zone 6 which is far from the city center and airport. Never accept a taxi driver that's using a meter if you're a tourist because it turned out almost double the price of what we paid a taxi driver who agreed to a fixed amount because traffic in Mexico City can be horrendous. It's not centrally... More

So glad we stayed here, such a beautiful and relaxing B&B! The property has 3 rooms, we stayed in El cuarto Del Arbol (the only room with a King bed). Be advised taxi drivers have a hard time finding this place, make sure you have your gps on you! We stayed here for a week, every morning we had something... More

La Casita del Patio Verde is located in one of the most beautiful colonias in Mexico City and within easy walking distance to Frida Kahlo's La Casa Azul. It's a charming B&B with a garden back yard and was hosted by Anna during our stay. Anna prepared varied fabulous breakfasts each morning and attended to our housekeeping needs. The neighborhood... La Casita del Patio Verde is a beautiful little hotel tucked away on a quiet side street in a gorgeous neighborhood in Mexico City. La Casita is convenient to the center of the Coyoacan neighborhood where there are restaurants, stores and museums. It's close to the Frida Kahlo museum. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with tile and textiles from... More

I stayed in the El Cuarto del Colibrí room. The smallest room which was perfect for one person or two couples with lots of closet space and desk top space for your things. The room was filled with beautiful tapestries from Oaxaca. It has a separate bathroom that was fine and just down the hall. It was supplied with a... More

We almost thought we would never get here as the taxi driver from the airport didn't have a clue as to how to negotiate the many callejones of this neighbourhood. A detailed map would have been helpful before arriving. However, once you get here you won't want to leave. We stayed in the Cuarto del Arbol and it was perfect.... More

It very close to Coyoacan Center which is kind of very Mexican Hippie place. I had a really good time. There are a lot of book stores, coffee shops (not like those in Amsterdam, of course), restaurants, and art events in that area of Mexico City. The host really like to talk, so he can give you good advise in... More

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighborhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
