Stayed here with 7 other friends, had the entire hotel. Amazing staff and people. Great location and easy to walk the city. There is an empanada place at the end of the alley that is amazing!! Would definitely recommend this place for anyone. Great rooftop terrace to have drinks and fun.

My wife and I enjoyed a delightful three-night stay at La Palomilla in early June. The accommodations, food and service were uniformly excellent, and helped make for a wonderful experience in Mexico City. The hotel is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, and the surroundings have the warm neighborhood vibe that makes the Roma district so compelling. We chose a junior suite, as a private bathroom was mandatory for us, and stayed in the Lucha libre themed Viva suite. The room is small and cozy, situated one floor above the street, which seemed to add no additional noise. While the room doesn't afford much space for stretching out, it's efficiently laid out, with a small desk and chair, and the king-sized bed was comfortable for lounging around and reading. The hotel also has well-appointed communal spaces for hanging out and socializing. The bathroom, while not large, was also well designed, with separate areas for sink, toilet and walk-in shower. Breakfast at La Palomilla was delicious. Each morning started with a plate of fresh fruit and juice, followed by the special of the day (e.g. chilaquiles). Our visit came during a quiet time for the hotel, and were able to dine by ourselves, which worked well for us. Coffee and a selection of teas were excellent, as was the service. Worth highlighting was the outstanding, warm service provided by the La Palomilla staff. This began from the moment we booked, with a friendly inquiry on any personal needs we might have for our stay. While traveling in Tepoztlan a few days prior to our arrival, the hotel checked in with us again, and the exchange resulted in a wonderful tip from Vero for a local Tepoztlan food specialty. Vero, in particular, was a wonderful part of our stay, and the hospitality of the entire staff was outstanding. There were many options for accommodations in Mexico City during the time of our visit, and several of the larger luxury hotels were offering steep discounts. Our choice of La Palomilla, while not the cheapest, made our experience in the city far more enjoyable, not just for comfort, but for a unique warmth, charm and personality we couldn't have found elsewhere.

For my 50th birthday, my six friends flew into Mexico City. We wanted a place that we could all stay at together with common areas. La Palomilla fit this need perfectly. They take care of all the extra details that even a big hotel concierge wouldn't. The breakfast was incredible!

Booked this lodging on a whim. And we were not disappointed. The room is tastefully furnished albeit a little small. The bed was comfortable and the street noise, although loud at first abated or we stopped noticing. Breakfasts are communal affairs which is great for meeting fellow travellers and exchanging tips. If you wake up grumpy and need your coffee in peace, best to wait till till the single table is empty. If you book a room with a private bathroom, not en suite, be aware that you have to enter the public passage to get to it. Was not a problem but I guess it is worth knowing. All-in-all a pleasant stay and worth considering for the next Mexico City visit
