Firstly, it was low season so we got a great discount, otherwise it would have been too expensive for us. Secondly, anyone complaining about walking up hills don't bother coming to Guanajuato, everything is on a hill here so it's a pointless thing to complain about. We got the first room on the left as you enter which has a... More

This hotel is filled with artwork and interesting furnishings. Beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are tiled colorfully but a little on the quirky side. There's plenty of hot water once the boiler is turned on - be sure to ask the staff if you don't have it immediately and then you will have it for good! Very friendly staff.... More

First, don't stay here if you mind a short hike uphill from downtown, if you demand a good shower, or if you get are easily perturbed by the unexpected. But do stay here if you like quirkiness and character, along with very comfortable rooms and really nice staff. The Balcony room is the best value - its huge and the... More

Wonderful small hotel, friendly accommodating owner and staff. Very well located, short walk downhill, to many attractions in the center of town. Near markets, internet café and lots of things to do and see.

I have stayed at La Casa Azul on two separate occasions and found the staff polite and the hotel to be in excellent condition both times. A charming place with lots of antiques and art decorating the walls, the owners really pay attention to detail. It is a bit of a walk up the hill, which was a worry when... More

This b&b was okay - not the best and not the worst. The location is 15 mins walk from the centre of town (up the hill). The hotel is quite pretty but the shower was the worst. It was literally a dribble. No chance at all of washing your hair! Mali the manager was okay but not really forthcomimg with... More

This bnb is run very well by Mali and her staff. My husband, 2 yo son and I had the room upstairs with the balcony. It was a very pleasant room with a comfortable king size bed. The continental breakfasts are filling (fresh hot toast, coffee, assorted breakfast cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit) and the overall vibe is low-key and relaxing.... More

I've stayed one night at La casa azul and generally enjoyed my stay. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings. The bed was very confortable. Nice antique touch.

When we called for directions, the front desk gave us vague directions. When we reached, she was unsure if she was giving us our rooms. Yes, it's an interesting location. The rooms are cleans, the furniture and art are interesting, and the rooftop terrace has a descent enough view. But breakfast has gone away. The linens weren't especially clean. The... More

My family and I travelled to Guanajuato recently and after an extensive search, decided to stay at La Casa Azul as it seemed to be a good balance between price, location and amenities offered. Positives: -A 10-15 min. walk from downtown. -Good customer service -Clean rooms -Beautiful terrace -Great breakfast Not so positive: - Run down bathroom, linens, bed spread.... More
