Pros - amable staffs - a big bed - a bathroom was quite clean - a good location in Guanajuato Cons - noisy. It's next to a bar and they partied until 4 am. On Wednesday night. - depends on your room, it can be a little smelly. The owner first showed me the room on the 1st floor and... More

My sister had stayed here before so I was looking forward to our stay. First impressions were that the hotel was quite run down. Our room on the ground floor had a large area over mould/dampness over one of the beds. The common area on the roof terrace was also a bit shabby. The hotel is in the centre of... More

I spent some nights here recently, and I have to say that the place is nice, comfortable and in a good location. Yet, a few things can be improved to make it perfect, and one of them is the price of the rooms. 40 dollars plus tax (16% + 2%) for a double with private bath is just a little... More

This hotel really looks great from the photographs and possibly some of the reviews but in reality its not all what it seems. I send my parents there this weekend and the hotel gates were closed at 14:00. My folks waited for someone to show up for 30-45 minutes but no one showed up. They decided to go to another... More

Stayed at Residencia Mexicana (that's the name on the sign outside the hotel) for a few nights during New Year's 2014-2015. We reserved almost a month in advance through telephone with no hassle. We asked for a place to park our car during our stay and were told that there were some pay-by-the-hour parking lots, but they told us that... More

we stayed at Casa Mexicana Guanajuato for three nights over new years eve. upon arrival we were greeted by an unfriendly, old man who was about as charming as Mr. Scrooge. He showed us our room which was tiny and showed signs of mold - probably from the shared bathroom next door. The bed was comfortable enough to sleep in... More

The hotel is more like a hostel. We stayed in the rooms with shared bathroom. They were not so well maintained- the bathrooms and the rooms themselves. The hotel needs major overhaul. It's cute and first impression was ok, but that's it. I would not stay here again and not recommend anyone to stay here. Price/value was not good.

We thought we had found a town with reasonable priced hostels again until we inspected a couple of them and our hearts sunk. Luckily on the verge of giving up, I decided to walk across the road and stumbled into this cute place. At first it didn't look good when the prices were higher than our budget but as I... More

I had the pleasure of trying out a number of different hotels in Guanajuato during my three-month stay. Casa Mexicana was my favourite. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are tastefully decorated, and the location is ideal for sightseeing (walking distance from Teatro Juarez, University of Guanajuato, Jardin de la Union etc). And - most importantly for... More

Rooms are all pretty big and comfortable, old fashion equipped, with fantastic wooden beds and fancy faint walls. Staff is cordial and welcoming. Breakfast is not huge but there is enough array of Mexican, stunning food. Position is excellent, you're gonna stay in the GTO hearth. There is a bar/club in the same building and some days music could be... More
