Casa Habita has really nice design. The linens, rugs - everything tasteful and thoughtful. Service can be a little spotty. But we stay here often. There isn't anything else in Guadalajara that comes close.
No signage for this hotel, finally found someone to tell us where the hotel is. Got a valet from the hotel, who took our car keys and led us to the hotel -- but we had to carry all our own luggage! We'd had this reservation for weeks, but the front desk said they couldn't find it - my husband got very insistent, and finally they found our reservation! While checking in, I asked 3 times if we could have a late checkout, no answer. Finally checked in, and found our room. We have been here 3 hours -- room is stifling hot, turned on the A?C but still hot, front desk no help. The room is very minimal - I've had better rooms in a 500 peso a night hotel here in Mexico. No desk or chest of drawers. A tiny closet with 5 hangers. Only 1 pint of drinking water for 2 people, for a day and a night and part of another day! I called the front desk and asked for more drinking water - they said we would have to call room service and order drinkable water, at 60 pesos for a one pint bottle (plus room service fees and tips). I have my laptop balanced on the edge of a 24" bar table, with a little club chair -- that is the only furniture in the room other than the bed. There is 1 (one) plug in this hallway where the bar table is, and one plug in the bed room. Nowhere to put our electronic devices or to plug them in. There is a sink in the bathroom, but no countertop to lay our toiletries on. We're leaving, forfeiting our payment for this room but it is just torture trying to stay here.…
The location may be a bit away form some places but the hotel is well priced and meets all your needs. The rooms and bathrooms esp are new and work perfectly - love and I say LOVE the shower. The amenities are sweet. The breakfast included option is a must even though it is a "continental" it has so much stuff you can make it to a late lunch easily. Need Uber? All 6 times we called from the hotel a car was there in less than 10 minutes and usually 5! Did not make it to the roof pool but it looked fun for the people swimming and drinking. Any issue: only that be careful walking around the bed as the frame does stick out a bit and twice hit my ankle - lesson learned?
Not a good experience with Marriott this time, we arrived at midnight and the place is not easy to recognize as there is not a good sign for it and illumination is poor. We were upgrade to what they told us was a "luxury room" however, nothing in the room was luxurious. The room was really clean and modern, but not spacious, very small TV and a terribly view. The worst thing was that we were not able to rest because there's a discotheque across the street and the music volume makes a good sleep impossible. The discotheque has nothing to do with the hotel, however they should be responsible telling you about that issue and the guest would be able to take a different decision or request a quiet room, on the other side, a sound isolation system should be installed. Staff was kind and prices are good, but would never come back again.…
Ruined Electronics and Leather So this place has faulty safes. Turned out when you put your stuff in a safe although you put the code in it locks. Happened it two rooms. The last room I had they literally has to use a torch and when they did that it made the contents which Included my computer iPad cell phones and leather wallet Smokey and with hot particles in it
We have rarely enjoyed a stay as much as we did at Casa Habita. Our weeklong stay actually began before we arrived through consultation with the concierge Kenya. Thanks to her excellent suggestions we had restaurant reservations booked almost nightly and a couple of tours booked, too. Not one restaurant was disappointing. In fact, they were each amazing dining experiences. What a marvelous foodie scene there is in GDL! The tours Kenya booked included one of Tequila (the town) with The Agave Experience and another with Xavier, a local tour guide who was a walking library of information. Both tours surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite which was spacious and included a king size bed. Although we didn't get the balcony we had preferred, we really enjoyed opening the window in our room and the green view of treetops. It was also easy to sleep in the cool room and quiet neighborhood. The hotel was clean and our room was clean and tidied each day. The robes and towels were thick and luxurious, too. We really enjoyed a couple of spa treatments that we felt were reasonably priced especially for a hotel. My husband proclaimed the massage was one of the best in his life. We frequented the spa almost daily to enjoy the complimentary steam room and sauna which were both in superb condition and HOT! After a good sweat, we loved relaxing on the terrace just outside of the spa to enjoy the 9th floor view and cool breezes. Although we don't eat breakfast daily at home, we sure did enjoy the complimentary breakfast which was served at tables on the patio. Unlike the dreadful American hotel breakfasts of packaged dry and tasteless food, here we lapped up plates of fresh fruit, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses, chilaquiles, fresh juices and hot coffee. This breakfast was more than enough and we especially indulged in the delicious house-baked bread and pastries which made us feel we were definitely on vacation. Christian was often our server and his English was excellent. The hotel location was discreet and my husband also enjoyed a nice shave and facial from the independent barber on the first floor. We enjoy walking wherever we are and were delighted with the sites, restaurants, cafes, old buildings and new that we discovered walking in every direction around the hotel. We didn't spend over 80 pesos on Uber rides to restaurants, the Juan de Dios mercado, the Cathedral, Centro, and other sites. There is not one thing we would change about this trip. When we return to Guadalajara, we won't even look at another hotel property. Casa Habita provided everything we could possibly want and is an ideal location for all you want to do.…
I love most of what this hotel offers: great location, super friendly staff, great restaurants and common areas, stylish room and comfy cloud-like beds. My only criticism- and it's been the same in the 3 different rooms that I've stayed in- is that the "blackout curtains" are not long enough to fully block out the light and as a result I can never sleep in as I like to on holiday. The curtains are a pretty unsightly off-white vinyl kind of material as well, which really takes away from the aesthetic appeal of the room. I would love it if they were replaced by some plush velvet curtains that made the rooms look cool and cozy and also effectively blocked out the light. That's the only issue preventing me from giving this cool hotel 5 stars and recommending it to everyone I know who's heading to Guadalajara!…
We just had 3 nights at Casa Habita to celebrate my birthday and we absolutely loved it. We were in a well-priced junior suite on the 6th floor with great city views. The room was spotless, very chic and loft-like with polished cement floors and a luxurious marble bathroom. Lafayette, the neighborhood is perfect and very walkable. All our favorite cafes and restaurants are an easy 5-10 minute walk: La Panga, El Peligro, Bruna, Hueso. Habita also allows dogs for a small extra fee so it was great to bring our little pup along with us. The staff are wonderful too - Talina at the front desk even sent a delicious dessert to our room for my birthday. The hotel restaurant and bar are also very good. And we also made good use of the hotel's complimentary bikes and had a couple of good bike rides exploring the town. We'll definitely stay here again!…
I couldn’t write enough good things about this hotel. It is beautifully decorated, safe, and really great service. The hotel helped coordinate pickup and drop off to the airport which was very helpful. Upon check in, you get a free cocktail voucher at the hotel cafe. Talina was incredible to work with as she helped coordinate many activities such as a Tequila tour driven by a local, restaurant reservations at the best places in town, and a mixology class. I highly recommend the mixology class with George. It was a lot of fun and learned a lot. The hotel cafe had great food and drinks as well. Everyone we interacted with was very nice, provided great service and ensured we had a great stay. They also had good English which helped in getting around and information needed. Would hope to come back soon!!…
We had our big family staying there. We loved the rooms and details. The restaurant and bar had great food and drinks and the staff was very hospitable and answered all of our MANY questions. they helped us get a car from the airport to the hotel and to go tour the town. We cannot wait to come back and stay again.
