We have rarely enjoyed a stay as much as we did at Casa Habita. Our weeklong stay actually began before we arrived through consultation with the concierge Kenya. Thanks to her excellent suggestions we had restaurant reservations booked almost nightly and a couple of tours booked, too. Not one restaurant was disappointing. In fact, they were each amazing dining experiences. What a marvelous foodie scene there is in GDL! The tours Kenya booked included one of Tequila (the town) with The Agave Experience and another with Xavier, a local tour guide who was a walking library of information. Both tours surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite which was spacious and included a king size bed. Although we didn't get the balcony we had preferred, we really enjoyed opening the window in our room and the green view of treetops. It was also easy to sleep in the cool room and quiet neighborhood. The hotel was clean and our room was clean and tidied each day. The robes and towels were thick and luxurious, too. We really enjoyed a couple of spa treatments that we felt were reasonably priced especially for a hotel. My husband proclaimed the massage was one of the best in his life. We frequented the spa almost daily to enjoy the complimentary steam room and sauna which were both in superb condition and HOT! After a good sweat, we loved relaxing on the terrace just outside of the spa to enjoy the 9th floor view and cool breezes. Although we don't eat breakfast daily at home, we sure did enjoy the complimentary breakfast which was served at tables on the patio. Unlike the dreadful American hotel breakfasts of packaged dry and tasteless food, here we lapped up plates of fresh fruit, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses, chilaquiles, fresh juices and hot coffee. This breakfast was more than enough and we especially indulged in the delicious house-baked bread and pastries which made us feel we were definitely on vacation. Christian was often our server and his English was excellent. The hotel location was discreet and my husband also enjoyed a nice shave and facial from the independent barber on the first floor. We enjoy walking wherever we are and were delighted with the sites, restaurants, cafes, old buildings and new that we discovered walking in every direction around the hotel. We didn't spend over 80 pesos on Uber rides to restaurants, the Juan de Dios mercado, the Cathedral, Centro, and other sites. There is not one thing we would change about this trip. When we return to Guadalajara, we won't even look at another hotel property. Casa Habita provided everything we could possibly want and is an ideal location for all you want to do.

The location may be a bit away form some places but the hotel is well priced and meets all your needs. The rooms and bathrooms esp are new and work perfectly - love and I say LOVE the shower. The amenities are sweet.
The breakfast included option is a must even though it is a "continental" it has so much stuff you can make it to a late lunch easily.
Need Uber? All 6 times we called from the hotel a car was there in less than 10 minutes and usually 5! Did not make it to the roof pool but it looked fun for the people swimming and drinking.
Any issue: only that be careful walking around the bed as the frame does stick out a bit and twice hit my ankle - lesson learned?

We had our big family staying there. We loved the rooms and details. The restaurant and bar had great food and drinks and the staff was very hospitable and answered all of our MANY questions. they helped us get a car from the airport to the hotel and to go tour the town.

We cannot wait to come back and stay again.

I really did want to like this hotel, but we found it so uncomfortable that we just packed up after one night (paying for three nights we didn’t use). So what happened? The hotel is certainly stylish and the design is interesting (albeit dated and a bit cold). There are bikes for guests’ use outside, the best restaurants in town are all in the area, and certainly this has been hyped as the hip/artsy place to be in Guadalajara. Unfortunately, however, there was just too much that annoyed us for what was supposed to be a comfortable, relaxed vacation centered around a hotel: (1) the room’s bathroom felt like it was part of the room, with a mere flimsy sliding door separation and there was no space whatsoever to place hygiene items — just a sink; (2) the room would get unbearably hot, perhaps because of all the glass?; (3) the small tv extends from an arm way to the side of the bed—it is too uncomfortable to watch without any neck strain; (4) the pillows are too thick/huge—they were driving me nuts and after some insomnia (exacerbated by the heat), I opted to just sleep without one; (5) the gym was amongst the smallest I have seen. The place also just felt a bit depressing, with not a soul to be seen in the common areas. Not sure if it was because of the holidays... We ended up going to the NH Providencia and loved it. There we actually had a very spacious room with a great view of the ritzy part of town and all the comforts one would want from a hotel. And, because it hasn’t been marketed in all the style and design magazines, came at a fraction of the price.

Dear vdelacru, Thank you for your review of Casa Habita. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed most of our style and amenities and the staff was able to make it even better. I get the whole idea of your complain, yes definitely every single thing that you mentioned is about style. Some people love it and some people don´t. I do belive it´s all in taste and what we are looking for as a guest. Some of us prefer boutique stylish hotels in spot areas and some look for traditional standard brand hotels. The city offers everything and I hope y found what you are looking for. In any case look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to Guadalajara if u feel like it. Sincerely

Our visit did not start well. Front desk staff (3 of them!) insisted we had a three night booking but we had paid for 4. It was sorted out and they did find the missing night but we had to get quite insistent. We had a junior suite… a torn bottom sheet, frayed towel, a huge room with almost no furniture (a small couch would have been wonderful) and nowhere to put things down, 4 coffee pods and once they were used you had to pay 50 pesos for each extra one, one small bottle of water per day only, pool bar staff were way more interested in their phones or chatting and laughing together. In two visits we did not get asked if we would like another drink or anything else.
The bathroom completely lacks privacy with a glass wall including the toilet.
We had paid for breakfast - it was ok although very limited in choice. Poached eggs were an extra - fried eggs were included.
On the up side - The bed was comfortable and the location is very good.

Every second of our experience (from the moment we were greeted at the outside bell stand to the moment we checked out three days later) was exceptional. We interacted with the front desk staff several times a day, & found each & every one of them to be unbelieveably kind & helpful. One wonderful lady went above & beyond in search of our lost luggage by being our phone advocate with the airport 3 different times! The servers & bartenders in both the lobby bar, the lobby restaurant, & the poolside bar (special shout out to Levy!) were absolutely incredible. They helped us with our Spanish & helped us understand exactly what we were ordering, every single time. And the food! We had breakfast at the hotel every morning, & an amazing poolside dinner one night. Just fabulous! The rooftop pool has several lounge areas, not just around the bar, & I found myself enjoying a nightcap there each day before bedtime. The rooms themselves were beautiful. My sister & I had separate rooms, & we were part of a larger group, so I got to see first hand how lovely the entire property was, not just my own room. The king bed was so comfortable & the room layout was unique & simply lovely. I had perhaps the largest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. So much of the time on vacation, you rarely even notice your hotel because it's just where you sleep between activities. Not here. The moments I should have been resting between busy periods, I was hanging with the bar staff, enjoying a cold one on the pool deck or on their street-side outdoor seating, or drinking from my amply-stocked (& reasonably priced) minibar. Thanks to the entire staff of this wonderful property for having made this such a wonderful stay.

The place is very clean, and the location is great. The breakfast included is a good option, the only thing I didn't love was the coffee because it tasted burned for me. The decoration of the hotel makes you feel like you are on a movie set is sooo beautiful, the area around is good for walking and has bicycle lane as well, keep in mind that due COVID19 room service is closing at 8:30 pm is not 24 hrs like mentions on the web site. The thing that I love the most is that they are super super pet friendly, your pet won't be discriminated here, I travel with my Collie and She was allowed in every place at the hotel, besides gym and spa obviously, you can go out and leave your pet in the room which is great because most of the pet friendly hotels ask you to take your dog when going outside, They charge 50 bucks per pet for the hall stay, so hope you guys find this info helpful. cheers

I couldn’t write enough good things about this hotel. It is beautifully decorated, safe, and really great service. The hotel helped coordinate pickup and drop off to the airport which was very helpful. Upon check in, you get a free cocktail voucher at the hotel cafe. Talina was incredible to work with as she helped coordinate many activities such as a Tequila tour driven by a local, restaurant reservations at the best places in town, and a mixology class. I highly recommend the mixology class with George. It was a lot of fun and learned a lot. The hotel cafe had great food and drinks as well. Everyone we interacted with was very nice, provided great service and ensured we had a great stay. They also had good English which helped in getting around and information needed. Would hope to come back soon!!

Very much enjoyed the size and ambience of this small hotel. Gracious employees. The room was trendy and comfortable and the amenities (like soap towels etc. were first class) . Two free drink coupons brought us to the inside/outside bar where a wonderful drink was served. Love the neighborhood and the underground complimentary, secure parking. Will return. Only downside was noise from a nearby club till 3 am on a Friday night/Saturday am.

We loved this hotel. We had a large room with an interesting decor and a large window looking out onto the city. The hotel has a nice pool area with many different areas where a few people can gather to talk or read. The people at the hotel are friendly, too. All these things made for a relaxing visit to Guadalajara and we look forward to staying there again when we return to that city.
