#2 of 103 B&Bs / Inns in Guadalajara
The Dickinson Guest House is a smaller Boutique hotel near Expo-Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, that many appreciate it's affordability in an otherwise pricey area of the city. In business since 2006, it has a long-standing reputation for comfort and convenience in all parts of this large metro area. If your needs are to be near this critical business district, without the desire for throngs of travelers in this new Hotel Zone, we are just blocks away from some of the city's most important events. The ever-emerging restaurant scene surrounds us with no less than 50 restaurants for almost all pocketbooks- that are within walking distance or a short Uber ride away. Guest room choices range from the popular standard single or double room, King room, King Suite with furnished and private balcony, and a quad-suite with a patio and garden for perhaps longer-staying guests traveling together for the same event. While we offer the comforts of home, we have in many ways surpassed local internet speeds and the use of printers without the extra charges often charged in nearby hotels. We now offer keyless entry codes allowing you entry at any time for simplicity and speed and guaranteeing often desired privacy. This has been very popular for business groups of 5-8 people arriving at different times, hours apart. We, of course, can accommodate more but have found business travelers still want their private space. It saves a lot of time with the check-in process that is mostly done in advance. Private codes are sent to guests on the day of arrival. As our convention center is once again busy, we have found that groups want smaller and private spaces still in one of the nicest neighborhoods of the entire city. Besides our loyal business visitors, Chapalita is close to some of the best shopping in Guadalajara and Zapopan. The property serves well for families that need extra space for weddings or reunions that are more often than not closer to the actual family member taking their vows. This is often where groups of 10+ guests can still enjoy plenty of space with family members. All are welcome, whether needing a single room or an entire rental to share with family & friends. Call or email at any time for any questions you may have. Welcome to Guadalajara, Mexico!

I brought my parents, they had not seen GDL in years, but remebered Chapalita. Several updates to this home was a comfort for my folks who could stay on the proud floor. Beautiful home - with smart devices that let music flow throughout this home. Thank you, Leo, James and Mari Cruz for another great stay.

As I was here for business, this was a very nice place to stay for a quiet space after the busy days at the expo. Lots of hot water, good beds and clean environment. I will recommend this property for groups who might not want to pay the large hotel prices that seem to be the norm in this safe and pretty neighborhood in Guadalajara. I enjoyed my stay very much.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We offer the comforts of home, without the view of the city. I have never understood why people want a view of the city. I love this city, but it is no San Francisco or New York, as far as the magnificent views! We appreciate our guests, but you were a lot of fun when we did see you! Take care.

Event, we found a lovely home that is within walking distance to the Book Fair for a substantially more affordable price. This 2 story, 5 bedroom house also has extra beds that are not listed on their official website, which saved us even more. The house is large and has hotel amenities that are not charged for, if you want it in your room. No gym. No pool. No problem in December. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water with good showers and quality linens. We enjoyed the privacy to talk and finish up our books before going to bed for another long day. Fresh coffee is ready when you are, in all rooms, with pod coffe machines. Look for this house if going to a convention in Guadalajara. It looks like it would be a great holiday house for a family as well. Great area with lots of restaurants surrounding this well-maintained neighborhood. We actually had more fun here than at this year´s FIL. It was not as attended as in years past.

That was a very nice review Cory and greatly appreciated. We are a small property compared to all of the hotels that have risen up in the last few years, but we still get some great guests like you. I have always thought it was odd that so many hotels show pictures of their outdoor pools when it is too cold outside for anyone to really enjoy them. But it does work! And I wish I had one for the warm months that we are blessed with even as the planet changes. The Keurig Coffee machines were Leo's idea. I was not really keen on it at first, but people like their coffee and not just in the morning, so he was right! Early risers and those getting ready for the next days at the Expo are the ones who appreciate them the most. Glad to have them. And even more happy to have guests that like this style of travel and the privacy of a smart home. We hope to see you again when passing through or attending a conference.

I came here a few years ago with business colleagues while attending a convention at the closeby exposition center. This time was with family. It was better than the last time! Lot´s of updates have been made now that fiber optics finally made it. Seems second nature to we Americans. But Leo and James have the entire house wired for any device you may have with no lag. We spent a lot of time outside of the property, but if we wanted to watch a movie the house is ready in all bedrooms. The best are comfortable and lots of pillows made my wife very happy! These guys have really done a nice job of setting up this large home and have added another bathroom for large groups. I did not see that in the listing this time. But it is in there! Great time hand by all. Hope to make it back in a couple of years to stay for a few days and head over to another place reccommended by James in Morelia. We are going to see the Monarch Butterfly winter retreat that we have read up on. We want to make the climb before humans kill them off. Their pattern of travelling to the mountains in Morelia is not exactly through Guadalajara, but these guys have 6 varieties of Milkweed planted outside, and the Monarchs sure found it. Highly reccommend a stay at this big house in a great area of the city that just keeps on growing. Thanks again for everything. Steve, Melinda and family.

Expecting much less for the price, I found this hideout to be in the middle of everything that we wanted to do, or very closeby. A secure and spacious property with friendly neighbors, parks that the locals strolled in even after 9PM and lots of pets that were not treated as guard dogs. I would love to come back with the relatives and friends that acted like \i was traveling to Syria! A wonderful host ans his partners made us feel so at home. Thank you so much for the English breakfast you served us. Delicious.
