Event, we found a lovely home that is within walking distance to the Book Fair for a substantially more affordable price. This 2 story, 5 bedroom house also has extra beds that are not listed on their official website, which saved us even more. The house is large and has hotel amenities that are not charged for, if you want it in your room. No gym. No pool. No problem in December. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water with good showers and quality linens. We enjoyed the privacy to talk and finish up our books before going to bed for another long day. Fresh coffee is ready when you are, in all rooms, with pod coffe machines. Look for this house if going to a convention in Guadalajara. It looks like it would be a great holiday house for a family as well. Great area with lots of restaurants surrounding this well-maintained neighborhood. We actually had more fun here than at this year´s FIL. It was not as attended as in years past.…
I came here a few years ago with business colleagues while attending a convention at the closeby exposition center. This time was with family. It was better than the last time! Lot´s of updates have been made now that fiber optics finally made it. Seems second nature to we Americans. But Leo and James have the entire house wired for any device you may have with no lag. We spent a lot of time outside of the property, but if we wanted to watch a movie the house is ready in all bedrooms. The best are comfortable and lots of pillows made my wife very happy! These guys have really done a nice job of setting up this large home and have added another bathroom for large groups. I did not see that in the listing this time. But it is in there! Great time hand by all. Hope to make it back in a couple of years to stay for a few days and head over to another place reccommended by James in Morelia. We are going to see the Monarch Butterfly winter retreat that we have read up on. We want to make the climb before humans kill them off. Their pattern of travelling to the mountains in Morelia is not exactly through Guadalajara, but these guys have 6 varieties of Milkweed planted outside, and the Monarchs sure found it. Highly reccommend a stay at this big house in a great area of the city that just keeps on growing. Thanks again for everything. Steve, Melinda and family.…
Expecting much less for the price, I found this hideout to be in the middle of everything that we wanted to do, or very closeby. A secure and spacious property with friendly neighbors, parks that the locals strolled in even after 9PM and lots of pets that were not treated as guard dogs. I would love to come back with the relatives and friends that acted like \i was traveling to Syria! A wonderful host ans his partners made us feel so at home. Thank you so much for the English breakfast you served us. Delicious.
This property was booked for two traveling companions on a business-fun trip. After the first night we realized that we should have saved this place for a big vacation. We ended up with a few fellow colleagues to move in with us. They were paying almost as much for a hotel room nearby. I figured for the price I paid that I might be in something like a bungalow. We were all very pleased with it's layout and modern conveniences that we are accustomed to. Lots of space, good beds and quiet nights with security and things that are common in the U.S. I hope that is not insulting to our hosts who were great. I guess the 'fake news' that is being spewed by Donald Trump is not true at all, especially here. Wonderful place for a medium to large groups with the comforts of home!
There are actually several apartments, home and elegant villas for rent in Guadalajara these days. But once again we chose the Dickinson Guest House for our trip. It truly is like going to a second home. Well taken care of and kitchen that is well equipped and refrigerator full of the items that we order in advance. The owners are very accommodating. The time spent visiting the sites was fun, yet coming back to a peaceful neighborhood was really what makes this home enjoyable. We recommend it to families or even working groups willing to share the six bedrooms to save some money in this pricey side of the city.
