We came to Old Guadalajara B&B because of the warm recommendation of friends, but we were surprised to have our high expectations surpassed by a mile. The home is gorgeous and fascinating; one could spend several days exploring the art, artifacts, books, architecture and the courtyard and rooftop garden areas. Our room was huge (all of them are), beautifully furnished...

The other reviewers have said it all. This is truly a magical location. The house is so beautiful and warm, without being fussy. The en-suite bedrooms are spacious and lovely. The hosts incredibly interesting and informative. I didn't want to leave. I especially liked the location. Felt completely safe in the neighborhood. Only a four-block walk to the Teatro Degollado...

If you love antiques, a unique atmosphere, huge gourmet breakfasts, and very comfortable accommodations, don't miss this B & B within easy walking distance of all of the historic points of interest in Guadalajara. The hosts are extremely hospitable and accommodating, and gave us excellent advise about restaurants, tianguis (open air markets) around Guadalajara, and day-trips to take near the...

We stayed at the Old Guadalajara B&B for 3 nights in at the end of January, and absolutely LOVED our stay! The house is gorgeous-- it's beautifully restored and decorated with interesting antiques, textiles and books. The host, Paul, is gracious, welcoming, and full of information on Guadalajara's (and Mexico's) history and culture. We could tell that he takes a...

We just spent a weekend at Old Guadalajara B and B and I am in heaven, just thinking about what an amazing time we had there. The two hosts were so good to us, all the time allowing us plenty of privacy and space. The house is so handy to get around the downtown area, it saved us a lot...

I can only echo the many positive reviews here on this site. Every aspect of our stay was delightful: the accommodations, the breakfasts, and especially our wonderful hosts, who treated us like old friends. I wish we could have stayed longer. .

The owner, Paul, seems to be in the wrong business. This B&B came highly rated and we were looking forward to our stay. But then he suddenly cancelled our reservation and returned our deposit after he learned that we had an early morning flight on the day of our departure. He sent a very rude email suggesting we find a...

What a wonderful place! We still think about our good fortune in finding this jewel of a retreat. As is common in Mexico, all is hidden , although the front of the converted convent is very inviting. Still, one is hardly prepared for the impact as one enters. Cool, decorated with magnificent art and antiques, the large hall opens onto a...

My girlfriend and I stayed at Old Guadalajara in December of 2008 and were delighted with this bed and breakfast. Paul is a wonderful and generous host. He is always willing to provide ample information regarding restaurants and sights to see. On New Year’s Eve he invited us to spend the evening with him and friends; he prepared an amazing...

Fellow travelers: Being in the hotel business myself, I am bold enough to tell you that you need to search no more. Exquisitely decorated lodging, superb breakfast prepared by the owner himself, delightful conversation and right in the center of GDL. If I ever return to GDL, I will definitely return to this oasis. As I am writing this, I...
