Villa Ganz is a lovely colonial style home converted into a charming boutique hotel. We had a spacious room with a balcony that was beautifully decorated with all the essential appointments. The hotel is tucked off a busy street oriented toward a quiet interior garden alongside of which is a comfortable breakfast room. It is readily accessible to the heart of Guadalajara either by foot, bus or taxi. And the surrounding neighborhood has interesting shops and restaurants as well. All of our needs were meant by the warm and friendly staff, especially Armando, Christopher, and Paula who helped us find our way and plan our excursions. They made great suggestions, too, which enhanced our visit. It was such a perfect destination that I look forward to returning.
We spent 2 nights at Villa Ganz. After a warm welcome and being shown to our beautiful and spacious rooms, we inquired after any restaurants they might recommend. We were told that the hotel had a restaurant and they were serving a 6-course surprise menu. We decided to go for that, in the beautiful setting of the hotel garden. And boy are we glad we did, the meal was outstanding. Beautifully presented and delicious. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, check out the restaurant. Ask for Armando!
Villa Ganz is a lovely old home now preserved as an inn. I found out about it quite by accident and my friend and I were so pleased we decided to stay there. The location works fine....walking to town takes less than 30 minutes, there are excellent restaurants close by, the area is safe...but the best part of staying in this inn was the attention to detail in the rooms, the garden space for eating and relaxing and the people who worked there. Christopher, Armando and Paulina all went out of their way to handle any of our needs and to make suggestions to enhance our experience not only in Guadalajara but, also, other towns to which we were going. They were completely exceptional in every way. I hope to get back someday to be in that atmosphere and to receive this kind hospitality again. Don't hesitate. Pick this hotel on your next visit there.…
What a great boutique hotel, perfect location to great walking, restaurants, bars and sightseeing. The staff is wonderful and very helpful, I’m a early raiser and they had no issue making us a pot of coffee. We would definitely stay here again, thank you for making our trip to GDL perfect.
Was a very nice and unique place to stay. Better than your everyday Holiday Inn. Lots of good Restaurants within walking distance. Fairley and very helpful sorting the Air Conditioning out and cable channels. Breakfast was excellent and a very nice atmosphere.
Enjoyed the rooms and the hospitality! The staff personalize the stay and the rooms were big and very boutique worth the feel of living in the early 1900’s the rooms were super clean and the gentleman who handles the house is super
We’ve stayed at Villa Ganz in the past and it was magical. It really pains me to say but it feels like the standards are slipping. The grounds in the back were where we enjoyed relaxing in loungers. Now the grass is brown and no loungers. When we asked about a coffee machine in the room it was no, but we were assured there was coffee starting at 6am. At 7:30am I went down for coffee and was told they don’t serve coffee until breakfast at 8am 🤦♂️. The building is starting to look quite fun down from the street. Our room was lovely as always.
Wonderful boutique hotel in a remodeled 1930 mansion with 10 unique rooms. The room we stayed in was very well appointed and the brick dome ceiling was mesmerizing. The staff were very helpful and professional, greatly appreciated Paulina's help with our Covid travel tests. The location is perfect, mere blocks from Avenue Chapultepec which has many restaurants, bars and coffee cafes. Highly recommend the 6 or 8 course dinner, delicious and beautifully/artistically plated. The garden was lit with candles and one of the most romantic dinners I have had in my life - memorable. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to our return visit. PS - Bed was comfortable with nice bedding.
This is the place! I have never actually stayed in a lovelier hotel. It is quietly elegant, totally beautiful, the service is impeccable, and we had an 8 course tasting meal here that was better than the one we had at Quintonil for literally 1/10 of the price. We will always stay at this place if we have the pleasure of coming back to Guadalajara.
There are several aspects of this stay that I would like to point out for those of you out there looking for the perfect place to stay while visiting this amazing city in Mexico (Guadalajara, Jalisco). The main idea we had was to book a Boutique Hotel that could offer a different kind of vibe from the mainstream chain hotels, while ensuring the basic amenities you need were still offered. Well, we found a place that was perfect and then some, not only our basic needs for safety, convenient location, pertinent COVID measures and efficiency were offered but also, we encountered a place with a fantastic history, where very famous people have stayed through the years, a very efficient and experienced staff with an overall customer service level that rates well into the international standards. Take it from a couple that has an extensive share of domestic and international traveling. They have an impressive kitchen service yes, haute-cuisine directed by the renowned Chef John Bertrand, at your service because there are only 10 beautiful suites and that allows for a more personalized service. The food and ambiance -day or night, is only rivaled by the warmth of their staff. They take pride in making every guest feel right at home, when away from home. Finally, it will be unfair to commend one person only so, I will go ahead and express our sincere gratitude to: Paulina and Alex at the front desk (I wish I knew the name of our wonderful maid), Laura and Daniel at the fabulous kitchen, and then our host and hostess Armando and Mrs. Sally at the helm of this well-oiled operation. Bonus: An unexpected and charming bonus that we gladly came across with was Buba, the cute feline that plays an important role of supervisor by day and spoiled companion by night. With the above said, it is with great pleasure that we highly recommend staying in this magic place if you're the type of people that enjoy traveling on the personalized side of the wagon. Happy Trails! Anastacio & Haydeline H.…
