Casa Alebrijes is a boutique hotel for gay men and women and friends located in the Historic Center and just two blocks from the center of the gay nightlife area that has some twenty-five gay bars and discotheques within walking distance – Guadalajara is known as the San Francisco of Mexico. The hotel has two floors with 2 suites for 1-4 persons and 7 rooms for 1 or 2 persons. The first floor has a garden patio with a fabulous fountain. The second floor has a balcony overlooking the garden patio and fountain. The 15 foot high ceilings and 2 foot thick adobe walls provide a unique hospitality experience. Relax on the balcony or garden patio and enjoy the sight and sound of the Mexican style fountain. Eat your continental breakfast in the dining room while sharing experiences with other guests or at private tables on the balcony. Enjoyed my stay immensely in the garden room next to the fountains. The Casa is beautifully maintained, John the host is a wealth of information and helpful suggestions. Guadalajara is full of many beautiful friendly people and good food everywhere, and intriguingly, its charms

I’ve stayed here twice and both times I’ve had a great experience. From the moment you check in, John, the host makes you feel welcome. You’re given a pair of slippers with the hotels logo on them, which is a very nice touch. He’s very happy to help you with any restaurant

You are permitted visitors, but you are responsible for their actions. You can arrive to the hotel by taxi or Uber. Guadalajara is real Mexico and pesos are required. I recommend using a debit card to withdraw pesos from ATMs. See my webpage for more information.

are any of the rooms air conditioned?
All rooms have ceiling fans and windows that open. 15 foot high ceilings also help with temperature control. Guadalajara does not have high humidity and, in my opinion, May and the first half of June are the periods where air conditioning would be more desirable. I live on the property all year and do not have a heater or air conditioner.
