Boutique hotel. Very quaint with a small swimming pool in the courtyard. The street in which it is located is not pretty but the neighborhood is. You can walk to quaint and tasty restaurants, or even to the beautiful cathedral downtown. I swear it cost less than 50 dls. a night. It has very basic rooms, very. But it is quite clean and soooo quiet at night. No luxuries, just a nice spot to rest after having fun in the nicest areas of Guadalajara like Avenida Chapultepec. And, the service at the front desk is very professional. They even offer transportation, for a fee of course.

They lost my reservation, so when i arrived at midnight after a long bus trip, the guy at the reception told me they are fully booked and it's not his fault. No apologies, nothing. He found the reservation later, but it was the agent's fault, the system fault, my fault, but not the hotel's fault, of course. My agent found me a replacement within like 30 minutes, but meanwhile I was not even allowed to stay at the reception! He told me "we have a regulation that non-guests can't stay at the property, even at the lobby!" They made me wait outside!! The neighborhood is bad. When you wait half an hour outside in the middle of the night, you know that for sure.

My friend and I were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the breakfast here, the service and the surroundings. This area of the city is becoming a bit trendy, with the Isabel probably the best choice if you'd rather sidestep the plethora of open-air (noisy!) eateries situated on busy corners. The dining room here is truly a relaxing refuge from all that.

I was brought to this place years ago by a "chilaquil lover", chilaquiles are deep fried tortillas with your choice of green or red tomato sauces, topped with cream and crumbled cheese, obviously you can add an egg or chicken (like my beloved son), refried beans are a good match. Service is courteous and prompt, premises are located within a budget hotel, that seems nice. Location is convenient, if you want to tour downtown, since this place is close to it or in your way if you come from the northwestern part of Suburban Guadalajara (Zapopan). Fresh squezzed fruit juices are available. Give it a try!
