Travelers' Choice
Nestled in the heart of Cuernavaca, the city of eternal spring, Anticavilla Hotel redefines luxury with personal passion and distinctive service, making each stay in one of Cuernavaca's top hotels more memorable than the last. The architecture marries an old style but new build Hacienda style building to cutting edge modern extension providing a dramatic 25m high concrete awning for the dining area and bar. All the furniture is stylized Italian modern, and one feels the whole area is in a film set wherever you wander. The main 25m pool is fantastic with a shallow walk in pool creating a vast expanse of deep blue, served by attentive bar staff or the spa masseuse. The tropical garden, semi-olympic pool and Anticavilla Spa, all merge together to create an unforgettable experience, inspiring an instant sense of serenity, interior equilibrium and beauty. Indulge in exquisite Italian and Mexican dishes at our Restaurant or sip on a heavenly cocktail at Paradise Lounge Bar.

Hotel's Favorite
Gorgeous little hotel, boutique hotel. Everyone from the valet, to reception (Mrs. Aurelia Morales Brito such an sweetheart), to the pool area...everyone makes you feel so welcome, you don't want to leave. The room was very modern, comfortable, nice to be inside. Very well kept grounds and rooms. The service at the pool area was superb. The pool a bit small, but for few rooms, nothing bigger is really needed. Food was great, a bit high in price, but since you are in the pool or in your room, the comfortable thing is to order in. The restaurant id delicious. And the spa amazing!! (ask for Cynthia, whom has hands of an angel...amazing massage! Also Judith is excellent in all spa treatments, they both make you feel lost in space and time)

We stayed 5 nights in February- the hotels excellent website highlighted the many places to visit in the area. The hotel is stunning- an excellent room, a stunning garden and ambience, a beautiful pool, an outstanding restaurant and overall great service. It was a lovely place to stay. We also enjoyed our visits to the Robert Brady House (a real find), the Jardins de Mexico (outstanding), and Xochicalco archaelogical site. Disappointingly, the Hernan Cortez museum is closed and has been closed for several years (earthquake damage), and the Jardin Borda no doubt was once beautiful, but unfortunately no longer. We were told that Tepotzlan was worth a visit, and it might be on certain days- provided that is not the height of Carnival when it feels half of Mexico City descends on the town- we spent several hours in traffic queues- perhaps the hotel might have warned us. Overall, I made a great choice regarding the hotel, but a poor choice to stay in Cuernevavca- having spent 2 weeks now in Mexico I know that there are better places to visit.

This is a first class hotel with spa. Our room, Di Chirico, was spacious but a bit dark since there is only one main window. Even with the shades wide open in the middle of the day, there is not much light. I was always surprised how sunny it was outside because of the darkness inside. There is enough lighting to read and there is plenty of lighting in the bathroom. The shower and the toilet are each behind glass doors while the two sinks were out front side by side next to the bedroom. There is no door between the bathroom and the bedroom but this was not a problem. The bed is large and comfortable and looks out of the only window onto the patio. There was a coffee table with two chairs and a desk area with desk chairs. The WiFi was excellent. The TV has Netflix and Prime but no English TV except Al Jeezera which is not a favorite. We asked why they did not have at least CNN and they said they would look into it. Also operating the TV is tricky. We needed a completely new box and a session on how to turn it on. Eventually everything worked but then we had to leave. Service is very attentive. Most of the staff has limited English but the front desk has several people with excellent English so it was not a problem. The concierge guided us to many interesting spots in Cuernavaca and Uber works well throughout the city so very safe. We had excellent massages in the small spa - very relaxing and with a good steam bath. Mexican breakfasts are not a favorite of mine since I don’t like eggs. However, the bread basket had some good selections and the juice was fresh and delicious. We ate dinner once there and it was good but not wonderful. Plenty of other places to go and the front desk helped us find them. Although it was too cold to swim, the pool is large and can accommodate lap swimming. Probably great if it is not winter! It is not heated but one couple went in anyway. We were very pleased with our stay and although we will probably not come back to Cuernavaca, we would stay there if we did. I think we were the only Americans in the hotel.

My wife booked a 'stay romantica' vacation for Christmas at the Anticavilla Hotel and Restaurant. It included rose petals on the bed, couples massage and a bottle of bubbly. The staff at the hotel made it all happen in a blink of an eye. They excelled in personal service and courtesy. The restaurant served meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner with style, often presenting food with an artistic flair. The flavors and ingredients were so good and so different unlike the standard Mexican fare one gets in the USA. Just one note; the coffee at breakfast should be hotter and stronger.

Let’s start with the positive: the hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood. The main building is really nice and the rooms are confortable and spacious. The shower is amazing but the bathroom door is kind of open, so it makes it uncomfortable for your partner. The hotel is adults only but the restaurant is not, which is weird as the hotel gets kids all over. The pool was not heated and we could not swim, which really was a let down as it was one of the main reasons to book this hotel.

Dear MTorre thanks a lot for shearing all these information about your stay. I will be answering one by one. Anticavilla architectural concept is modern and contemporary and according with this concept a lot of glass doors are involved in the design, which may one like or not. We are sorry to hear that you did not feel confortable about it. You are right about accepting kids in the restaurant during breakfast and lunch. We always inform the parents that kids are not supposed to run around. Sometimes parents are sensible and can control their children but unfortunately sometimes they cannot. It is an important issue for us and we are working on it. Our swimming pool is heated with solar panels and also with a specific heater. The problems is that you came during rainy season with means less hours of sun and a lot of rainy water that goes in the swimming pool lowering the temperature. It is very hard to control nature. Hopefully you will find some time to come back when the rain will stop because swimming in our semiolimpic poon and relax in our garden or Spa it's really something unique. Thanks again for staying with us. Best regards Bartolomea Bazzardi
