It's slightly out of the town centre and as I approached it along a bumpy unpaved street, I wondered if it might be a bit rough. On the contrary: it was a welcoming arrival after a long journey and the staff were nice. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and there was a refreshing pool in the patio. Despite... More

This is a nicely set out hotel with clean rooms and a roof terrace. The staff were helpful and you could purchase cold beers on site. We visited San Blas for surfing but must have been there too early in the season as there were no waves and the town was very quiet.

This little modest Mexican hotel is well located in San Blas just a short walk to the main square. The rooms were spotless, bathrooms recently renovated, linens in great shape. There are lots of chairs, rocking chairs and tables to lounge in the pretty courtyard. The pool was unheated but very clean. There is a nice rooftop - perfect for... More

My wife & I have been staying at Posada del Rey since 1979. With it's Family Atmosphere, Excellent Service, and Value, we continue to return to "Our Home in San Blas". We have stayed at almost every establishment in San Blas since 1977 and there are several, nice hotels in town....But Hotel Posada del Rey is our 1st Choice!! Randy... More

We are in Paradise. Posada del Rey is located in a quiet neighborhood with cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses. The room is spotless, as are the grounds. Our patio is filled with colorful flowers, the courtyard is shaded by a lovely flowering tree, and fragrant vines, and there is a sparkling pool. We are half a block from the Sea... More

The main objective to go to San Blas was to participate in a world class birding experience. San Blas is the most species rich location north of Costa Rica. To keep costs in line, my friend and I wanted a reasonable hotel in a location walkable to markets and restaurants. Also we needed a quiet clean place from which to... More

This has been one of my favourite towns and hotels in Mexico. The staff were really attentive and friendly, we made ourselves free coffee each day and swam in the beautiful pool. The location is quiet and the ladies who work there are *so* friendly. It's a short walk to town and the beach. There are a lot of quiet... More

We were able to reach the hotel by telephone. Needed a Spanish speaker but confirmed for 12/24 - 12/29. We opted for the unremodeled cheaper room and got one upstairs in the front. Very basic but very clean. On the top floor there was once a bar but we went up there for the fantastic views of the harbor and... More

Tolerable place if no other alternatives are available. Poorly designed bathrooms with limited hot water. Do not buy any extras - they "offered" us coffee and two days and 12 cups later, they charged us $120 Pesos (about $1 US per cup). We expected a charge, but this was extremely high for instant coffee. Too many other good places in... More
