Garlands was so centrally located and the river is just divine. I absolutely love this place. Breakfast was good and the staff was attentive and kind. I stayed in count and I liked that it was quiet ;)
A true gem that gives you best of both worlds - an exceptional hotel getaway that lets; you experience PV like a local. The gorgeous outdoor patio/terrace on river is a gem. You will love a quiet breakfast out there. Close to virtually everything, so a wonderful location. You will not find a more caring and helpful staff. Truly unique experience.
What sets this boutique hotel in Puerto Vallarta on the Rio Cuale apart from others is the attention to service here. Upon making our reservation on Expedia, hotel staff reached out immediately via phone, Whatsapp, and email to set up a time to check in and to see if we needed any assistance with transportation to the hotel. Daniel, who serves as the hotel’s manager, concierge, and guest services coordinator greeted us at the door, made us comfortable, and provided us with margaritas immediately upon our arrival. He sat with us for nearly 30 minutes getting to know us and what activities we might be interested in, providing us with recommendations and directions to places we might like, and making sure we knew the best places in the neighborhood and around the city. Throughout our stay he was always available for any needs that might arise. Every morning coffee, juice and fruit were served riverside complimentary of the hotel and hot breakfasts were available at a reasonable rate. Coffee and tea were available throughout the day as well. From the street you would never guess the quaint beauty that awaits you upon entering the hotel gates. You enter through an open air lobby tastefully decorated with plants and local art. There is a nicely appointed kitchen and indoor dining area that guests are welcome to use, but the real draw is the riverside terrace with dining tables and a hot tub. The rooftop pool and veranda were being repaired during our stay, but I’m quite sure that once that area is up and running it would be just as inviting as the rest of this small hotel. The rooms at Garlands Del Rio are assigned names instead of numbers. We stayed in “The Count”, and across from us were “Hansel” and “Gretel”. Each high-ceilinged room is decorated uniquely with local artwork and attention to detail. Our room had a king size bed and plenty of storage for our things, including a wardrobe, a large dresser, and a vanity. The room was appointed with both a ceiling fan and air conditioning. A flat screen television, safe, refrigerator, iron, and hair dryer were all provided. Bottled water is provided and can be refilled at stations throughout the hotel. A microwave, freezer, and dishware are all available in the kitchen off the lobby. I did not see every room, but it seemed that most if not all rooms had private outdoor seating as well. We were pleasantly surprised with the location of this hotel. Although there is no beach view here, its site right on the river makes you feel like you have entered a little peaceful oasis within the city. When you walk out the gate though, you are very central to all the action. Right across the street is the Rio Cuale Market. The Malecon is just a short walk through the market itself or down one of the side streets. If you walk North from here you will find Gringo Gulch and the famous Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe. If you stay South of the Rio Cuale you will be in the Romantic Zone with its art galleries, bars and cafes, and the famous Los Muertos Beach. If you wish to go on a day trip from here, all the major bus routes are just a short walk away and Daniel will be happy to guide you to the right one. Overall, our short stay at this property was one of the best hotel experiences we have had in Mexico and beyond. The level of service and attention to detail here truly put it a step above the competition.…
Very nice and friendly staff. Daniel was great!! He did an awesome job- really. The hotel ist Worth the Less money. Huge and clean room. Good pancakes for breakfast. I would stay there the next time, too.
It was so nice to be "back home" on my recent stay. The room was clean, everything worked perfectly, I enjoyed breakfast on the river and the staff was welcoming as always . Thank you Garlands for a great Halloween weekend trip to Vallarta!
