What an incredible experience! This has to be one of the best places to stay in Puerto Vallarta. Our room was so beautiful with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. There was a naked pool party while we were here that was a lot of fun. There's a restaurant, a bar, a full gym, a steam room, all in a secluded, beautiful part of town. But it's only a 10 minute walk to town.

Prior to our stay we learned of this hotel from attending one of the pool parties. Therefore our next visit we booked 4 nights. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and offered a cool towel and drink. During this process we also met the lovely owner. We were then given a very thorough tour of the property by the young man who checked us in. After the tour it was time to see our room. We booked the regular queen room but when we arrived we were blown away by the amazing room 141. Absolutely spectacular. You enter into a foyer with a large bathroom to the left. Double sinks and huge walk in shower that reminded me of a high end spa. Then into the main room and immediately noticed the view through the glass wall. Wow! Again blown away looking down the canyon with views of the ocean. Long patio with a small elevated seating area at one end. The bedroom/living room had a queen bed, built in couch along one side and another couch and coffee table at the foot of the bed. We felt like we had been upgraded but this was one of the regular queen rooms. Loved it. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Great views of the entire town from the main pool and bar area. We ate breakfast a couple times at the on-site restaurant. Enjoyed sitting on the restaurant patio and looking at the greenery while dining. Also ordered lunch from the pool bar. Enjoyed all of our meals. Drinks are great and fair pricing. We were initially concerned that it was not in town but the location up in the canyon makes for great views and a nice break from the usual construction noises in town. Surprisingly not a long walk into town at all but we did chose to take Ubers back to the hotel since I’m not a fan of hiking uphill in the heat and humidity of Puerto Vallarta. I would most definitely recommend this boutique hotel and we are booking another 4 nights for April.

This is our second visit to Casa Cupula, we were here a year ago and had a great time. in 2021, we were notified in advanace that the pool club would be closed to manage expectations. When we checked in, we were excited to finally be able to use the pool club but were told that it is closed. I can deal with that, we'd had a great time previosuly but what I can't accept is the lack of advance notification of building work. We opted for a suite this time but every day at 930 the banging and drilling starts. After a tough year, we had been looking forward to a week's getaway and relaxation but there's no chance with the construction noise. Considering the price we are paying (almost $250 a night) we really should have been notified in advance and given the option to reshedule our trip. There was no communication about the pool club or construction either through email or on the website. Other little things have gotten worse. The hot tub next to the pool sat almost empty for the first two days then someone filled it up with cold water. We tried using it but the jets/control panel wasn't working. We asked a member of staff who called maintnenance but it wasn't fixed (to date). Now some positives! The suite itself is really nice and well appointed. It has everything you need, the beds are very comfortable and the shower is nice. The only things I would improve are 1. Instructions on how to use things! We had no idea how the coffee maker worked so called the staff who didn't know but brought us another. Same for trying to work out how the TV and Apps work. 2. I think the fridge is overstocked with bar items that there is little space to store your own food and drinks. The staff are terrific, esecially Saul who works hard to try and get things sorted, from no electricity, to the hot tub, TV and coffee maker! Still a few days to go here but I'm doubting that I would stay here again which is a shame as I think the overall product is good and it is a welcoming, friendly environment.

Hi Richard, Thank you for share your experience. I am so sorry to hear that your experience is not what your expected. Unfortunately as most everyone knows construction is unpredictable and ours is taking a few weeks longer than expected due to situations beyond our control. In early November we will open our Pool Club with Double the Size and Double the Fun, it has become one of the most popular spaces for our LGBT community visitors in Puerto Vallarta. Guests have been notified but only those directly affected as our hotel pool remains open with all services. August to October are the slowest months in Vallarta and with increased tourism I'm sure these guests noticed that many other properties are also renovating or expanding so that we may serve our guests better in the future. Hope that we can welcoming you back and provide you a great experience.

Casa Cupula is an amazing LGBT hotel!! My husband and I had such an amazing time. The Frida suite is one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in and the views are BREATHTAKING everywhere! The food is top notch, the drag brunch so fun, and the infinity pool is a lovely hideaway with views of the sea and mountains. Also, and perhaps, most importantly, the staff is WONDERFUL. Everyone is kind, fun to talk to, and they all really will do everything to ensure you have a great stay!

I spent 12 days at Casa Cupula and my stay was wonderful. It was my first trip to Puerto Vallarta and when I read about the various hotels, the choice was clear for me. I did not regret a single minute. I am a 56 year old, single, heavy set man from Pennsylvania and I add this to my review because not once did I feel excluded or ashamed of my age or size at the pool or anywhere on the grounds. I traveled alone and made friends quickly because of the openness of other guests and staff. Men of all ages, sizes and colors blended well and I was able to make several friends whom I will stay in touch. The young and hot guys did not demonstrate an attitude and everyone seemed to “matter” to everyone else. If you want a massage, please make an appointment with Luis at the hotel’s spa. His touch and professionalism are magnificent. The Bistro restaurant is very good and the Sunday buffet is superb. Do not miss it. The weekend pool parties are great fun. The cleaning and maintenance staffs were always polite, welcoming and professional. I cannot remember the three waiters’ names, only two of them, Lalo and Jose Lalo, could not have been more helpful and kind. Wonderful employees and fine men. The DJ at the pool on Wednesdays and Thursdays is great. In the front office, Boris, and all the men in the front reception office were beyond helpful. I do not remember all the mens’ names but when you check in, you will see that all of them are wonderful. I had the privilege of meeting the owner of the hotel and got to chat with him several times during my stay. Truly an intelligent and skilled business man. He keeps the place clean and always address the staff members and visitors. Impressive man and extraordinary staff and hotel. Yes, the property is up on a hill and not in the middle of all the noise and crowds in the Zona Romántica, it is an easy and quick walk down the hill to all the action. I would recommend a taxi or Uber to return. The cost be will about $3.00 USD. That is what I wanted, days of quiet, solitude and naked pool time through the week. Many other people from other hotels and locals visit because the pool and bar are great. For gorgeous views and a beautiful terrace, stay in a Queen room. I was in 243 and I would never stay in a different room. Never would I consider another hotel in Puerto Vallarta. The costs, staff, location, food and drinks were incredible. If you like margaritas or piña coladas, Casa Cupula has the best. Book your stay there now! You will not regret a minute.

I've lived in PV for almost a year, and Casa Cupula is the best hotel I've visited here, no contest. It's high-end and up-scale, but more diverse, inclusive, and less of a scene than most of the other hotels you might be considering. I've met countless people at Casa Cupula, famous drag queens, porn stars, business leaders, actual movie stars, and friends from around the world. They all come to Casa Cupula for its classy yet down-to-earth aesthetic. On holidays and special occasions, the pool gets packed, and it's a great party. But I actually prefer the slower days during the week and in the off-season, because you can meet and really get to know people. The staff is super friendly and the gogo boys are breathtaking (they really are the best gogos in Vallarta. Ask them where they like dancing most. They'll say Casa Cupula. It's a great place to stay and a great place to work). It's got a real familiar vibe to it. And the view is incredible. ALSO! It's one of the only gay owned and queer operated hotels in Puerto Vallarta. Sapphire and Hotel Mercurio are also great spots. No shade there. Check them out. The other places? Don't waste your money. Most of the big name hotels are owned by homophobic straight people happy to take your money for diminishing services. You can try your luck at those places, but you'll pay more and have a worse time. Trust me. I've sampled. Casa Cupula is the winner.

Our stay at Casa Cupula in Puerto Vallarta for PV Pride was awesome. This boutique hotel is a hidden gem. The staff and facilities were amazing. The daily naked pool parties were an experience. The suites are extremely nice and have awesome views. The food was amazing as well as the spa massages. Within short walking distance to the beach as well as bars and clubs in the romantic area of PV. Highly recommend for future stays.

This was my first time staying at a dedicated LGBT facility and I was blown away. The owner "Don" and all of the staff were so warm and friendly. The overall vibe was so very enjoyable and each room is uniquely designed individually. There is a nice gym and several pools to enjoy, not to mention the breathtaking views as its located in the hills. Also the room service /food was very good. Id love to stay here again and plan to and really commend Don on maintaining a family esque environment between him and his staff that transcends down to the guests after all these years. 5 Stars!

Haven't even gotten there and I'm already so impressed with Casa Cupula's quick, friendly, and HELPFUL customer service. Any question I've had has been answered with in minutes of me reaching out. This will be my and my husband's first time at Casa Cupula and PV! Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the person that helped be but I feel its safe to say they are all awesome. If this is how they treat their future guests, I know we're going to have an awesome time!!! See you in June!!!
