One of a kind hotel, modern and cozy, with good taste. Located in the center of the city of Vallarta, two blocks from the “malecon”, and close to Cuale Island, Los Arcos Plaza, among many other attractions. We value your preference and work towards offering personal attention and the warmth you deserve. Its comfortable rooms and Puerto Vallarta’s ambiance make for a perfect combination for an unsurpassable stay.

I was so disappointed in my stay at Porto Allegro. When my husband and I booked our room at this hotel we specifically chose a room type that specified it had a “mountain view/landmark view/city view.” Instead of getting a room with a view, our room (109) faced what is basically an enclosed storage area. The area was completely walled in and if you looked up you could see a fence. It seriously felt like being in a prison cell. Not only did our room not have any view, due to the enclosed nature of the storage area our room also had very little natural light and you needed to turn the lights on even during the day. In effect, it was like being in a room with no window. The sliding door to the room opened to a tiny enclosed patio area that had a security door between the tiny patio and the storage area. The sliding glass door did not lock, so the hotel employee locked the security door with a padlock. Of course we were not provided a key to this lock, so in the event of a fire we would have been unable to exit through that door. Another odd thing was that was a coffee maker in the room, but for some reason the hotel did not provide coffee supplies in the room and if you wanted to make coffee you had to go get coffee from the front desk. That kind of defeats the point of having a coffee maker in the room if in the morning you have to first go get dressed and go to the front desk to get the coffee. There were some things that were OK, there was a fridge in the room and the location was fine. However the lack of light/view really put a damper on our trip and we will find a different place to stay next time we are in Puerto Vallarta.

First time to PV staying local versus arriving by ship. A friend recommended this hotel and sure glad we stayed here. Check-in was easy. Had room 102 on the bottom floor. Very clean, comfortable bed, shower with good hot water. Best feature... Good AC! Breakfast in AM is perfect. Eggs the way I liked and a few buffet choices. Good Bfast to get day started. The upstairs pool area is pretty spartan... but the location of the hotel close to the beach and Zone Romantica is perfect. Walked all over from this location at all times of day and night... safe. Heading back here for spring break in March. Uber from airport to hotel, $6.

We spent three nights at Hotel Porto Alegre, and everything was nearly perfect. The staff was friendly (they even showed us to our room and made sure everything was in order), the location can't be beat, everything was clean, and the room was a good size with A/C, hot water, and a fridge. The only real drawback was that the hotel is a few blocks from a cathedral with a very aggressive bell ringing schedule. At 6AM, they'd start ringing the bells with wild fervor. This would go on for a couple of minutes, they'd take a break, and then start in again at 6:15. I know that this isn't the hotel's fault, and I've read that the interior rooms might be quieter, but I'm a light sleeper and even earplugs didn't help in this situation. If you're an early riser or heavy sleeper, I 100% recommend this hotel. Our stay was wonderful other than being a bit tired during our trip.

We first arrived on a Thursday for a 16 day stay. We were met by friendly staff and shown to our room. The room was modern and clean, but extremely small with a view of a wall. We asked if we could get a room with a balcony on Saturday when most people check in and out. They said they would try. On Saturday they moved us to a room twice the size that had a balcony on the front street. It was wonderful. The hotel location could not be better if you want to be downtown close to the ocean. It is only 2 blocks to the Malecon. Right next to the river Cuale and within easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants and night life. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The whole breakfast staff were fantastic and the food was fresh and tasty. Puerta Vallarta is not a quiet place downtown. If you are looking for no noise, downtown is not for you. The city comes alive at 7 AM and the church bells ring all the time. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would definitely stay here again if we had the same room. (104)
