They just don’t do what they say they will. They are highly disorganized. One person doesn’t know what the other is doing. Nobody wants to claim responsibility for their mistakes and nobody is willing to try to fix it. Don’t waste your time coming here

We are just completing our fourth stay at Almar Resort and will definitely be back again soon. The overall environment is super comfortable and has come to feel like a home away from home. The rooms are comfortable and have amazing views of the city and Banderas Bay, but the common areas and staff are what sets Almar apart from other resorts for us. The Eden Pool is a relaxing space where we spend most afternoons, be taken care of by a group of wonderful people, especially Brian Coral, who is there with a big smile to make sure our drinks are full, our food is on its way and that we’re having a great time. The Mantamar Pool Club is there everyday for breakfast and other days in the afternoons for when we want a more upbeat, party vibe compared to Eden. The breakfast hostess, Jeny Lerma, is always welcoming and we look forward to her smile every morning. Looking forward to coming back in the fall!

And see......this is why I have trust issues with reviews. We just got back from a week at Almar and I thought it was fantastic. Are there a couple things I would improve? Sure. Are some of the complaints I see here overblown? Totally. Couple things: the room was amazing. We were in Almar tower and not in some of the cheaper rooms that are right above Mantemar so while I can see some rooms being super loud during the day, ours was not. There is loud music playing. It's a beach club. The club closes at 10 though so any noise you hear after that is coming from a different club. Is it loud? Yes. Can you ignore it by closing your door? Also yes. Literally zero trouble napping / sleeping. Now if I wanted to sleep with door open it may have been an issue. But who the hell sleeps with the door open when it's 85 degrees outside and you have A/C? Service was a tad slow but it's Mexico. We live in San Diego and I'm well accustomed to Mexican minutes :). You're on vacation. Chill. While sometimes slow, the service was also excellent. Mauricio at the Eden club was phenomenal. Are drinks and the minibar (including coffee) a little pricey? Yes. Do I expect that at a high end resort? Also yes. There is coffee at breakfast and a fantastic coffee shop (with great breakfast) literally a 3 minute walk away. The actual drinks were only slightly pricier than the bars in town. Is PV hilly? Yes. Can you literally walk ANYWHERE you want to be for LGBT nightlife if you're relatively able-bodied? Also yes. If you are older / have issues walking you may need a cab but that's going to true of a lot of places....the roads are cobblestone and a little tough to navigate...the location of this hotel is great though. We never even went to Mantemar. Eden in the hotel is awesome. Amazing pool. Reasonably priced cabanas and plenty of free chairs if you get your ass out if bed at a reasonable time. It was our favorite part of the hotel. There was quick timeshare pitch at check-in but we declined the 75 minute presentation with no hassle. I actually REGRET not going because I was so impressed I actually wish I had more info on a timeshare because I would 100% consider it after being there a week. Here's my ONLY gripe really: there are roving masseurs who are trying to drum up business (fine....I get it) but after politely declining another one would come up 15 minutes later (also mostly fine.....I get it....yall aren't keeping track with each other and maybe you don't know I already said no) THEN we would get repeats. Dude I am not going to drunk enough for you to wear me down and say yes to a massage twice the cost of one I can get at home. Again, not totally out of line price wise for a resort and I expect they come with some "extras" you wouldn't get at other resorts. Just annoying to be constantly asked when I am trying to cat nap in the sun. Overall I would an will 100 percent go back and stay here. If I can figure out how to get a timeshare pitch from the US I might even do that. I will let them pitch me the next time I am there though.

An amazing experience. Rooms are massive, well-kept with beautiful views. The pools and beach are great vibes and beautiful. The real star of the resort is the amazing team - kind, warm, and attentive. Mauricio, Martin, Santana, and Kevin made Eden a daily luxury. Will absolutely return.

pool and gym are very nice, but rest of our experience was poor: -Insane construction EVERY DAY until about 5pm below and next to our room (6th floor) that sounded like a jack hammer and literarily shook our room -there was no water on our first day until 6pm -Our room wasn't ready at check in time, so we had to wait around -while settling into our room, another guest was escorted into our room so there was some kind of mix up going on -we had set up the more expensive resort tab, but we were told several times that it didn't work at beach club The most disappointing aspect of all of these issues was managements response. When confronted with these shortcomings, management chose to do nothing instead of making the situation right. I had called the front desk RE: construction noise and they could hear the jack hammering over the phone and said they speak to manager and would look into compensation. Upon check out, we were told that we would not be compensated for the construction noise as it was listed on the website. While i understand the hotel needs to make updates, our room in particular was at ground zero for construction shouldn't have been allowed to be occupied.

I was forced to extend my stay in PV because I caught a bug and could not fly in my condition. I needed to change hotels, and when I arrived at Alamar, I told the staff that I needed my room with a bathroom desperately and they told me they would call my phone as soon as it was ready. I sat in the lobby for nearly 2 hours Until a lovely service lady noticed I have been sitting there for two hours and asked why. When she went and checked on my room and had been ready for over an hour, while the front desk staff who told me they’d let me know, watched me wait all that time. They told me that they would send a Doctor Who is in the house and he never showed up. The next day when I tried to eat my first solid food in four days on the Eden deck, I had to have it boxed up because I could barely eat a few bites of it. Housekeeping threw it away from my room and I still had to pay for it on check out. On my way back from the Eden deck that day. I saw many maintenance workers, panicking and running around, looking under ceiling tiles. When I got to my room, there was no water. After two hours we received a notice that the city was doing scheduled maintenance on the waterlines and there would be intermittent interruption in the water. I know two property owners in the city and I contacted them both one of the managers a large number of buildings. She knew nothing about the water cut off’s. Also, she manages a building two doors down from Aleman which was not affected , the front desk staff insisted that they were telling the truth. It took eight hours for the water to come on while I was sick in my room, having to use the toilet every 15 minutes. Again, I asked for the doctor to come to my room, I was told that he would call me back right away and he never showed up that day , on top of that there was jackhammering from sun up until sundown on one side of my room, and on the other side of my room, there was an air conditioning condenser that had a vent fan blade that made a god of racket day and night. Finally when it was the night before I was to leave PV and check out. I had ordered Room Service breakfast for the next day hoping that I would be able to eat something. I ordered it at 9:30 PM the night before and it never arrived in the morning. The front desk staff insisted that I didn’t order it, but I showed them the slip that I filled out at 9:30 PM the night before. When it arrived, it was 15 minutes prior to when my Uber was supposed to pick me up to take me to the airport. Each one of these incidents at the times that occurred I spoke calmly to the people at the front desk. When I was checking out, I was collectively complaining about all of these things, and they were upset with me for their perception that my raised voice was uncalled for. They basically wash their hands with me. Alamar is not a luxury hotel. They will also lie to tell you anything that they can to avoid being implicated as responsible for anything that they might have to make up for. If you’re a gay party boy (which I hold nothing against) you’ll be buzzed most of the time and will not care about these things, and you will get lots of fun and action. If you are not, you are not signing up for a luxury hotel. You are signing up for smoke and mirrors and lies

This my first visit to this resort. Overall my friends and I enjoyed the property. As previously mentioned in other reviews they nickel and dime you everything. I had one of the new rooms with a beautiful view of the ocean with amazing sunsets. My room itself was large and stylish. I would have liked the room to be cooler. The Eden pool on the fifth floor was lovely however the drinks could have been stronger. Would I come back ? Maybe there are a lot of options in the area.
