The customer service team at this resort were friendly, kind and very helpful. At the pool, Mario, Edgar, Erick and Ricardo and others were very attentive to our food and drink requests. If you want room service, call way ahead (the night before for breakfast) or you may expect a 45-60+ minute wait. Entertainment team "Pollo" (Chicken Man) and Luis offered fun activities and energy. The swim up pool bar pool was very busy and have to say the cloudy water did not entice us, stayed away. Both hot tubs did not work either which was disappointing. The servers at the Market Cafe (Secrets side) were wonderful and paid special attention to our needs. Extra special touches too! Sadly, not the same experience at the Now side. Overall the food in the restaurants I would grade as average (excellent dinner in the Wine Room at Bordeaux but extra cost for that. You must buy a bottle of wine and the wine is very expensive). The only house Chardonnay we found to be OK, was Reservado and the bars did not routinely have it. Found it at Tamarindo restaurant and then knew to ask for it. Overall the wine at the UVC resorts is disappointing. You cannot buy a premium glass of wine, only bottles, and a basic CA bottle (i.e. $10.00 bottle) cost over $100.00. Yikes! Not at the Preferred Bar either! Downsides to this resort, no real "Preferred" experiences, we were all grouped together despite the upcharges of being Preferred. Put on the highest floor but not the room we had expected (no hot tub...). There were only two restaurants on the Secrets side ( Bordeux and Oceana, besides the Market Cafe and Barefoot Grill at the pool). You have to cross over to the family resort "Now" resort to go to Himutsu, Tamarindo and Capers. Busy, sharing with families, so often a wait unless you go early. We prefer adults only for the get away aspect and access to more events, music and experiences. This shared resort with "Now" limits that. Not much of a beach to walk on and merchants approach like crazy. If you want to walk the beach alongside Banderas Bay near Nueva Vallarta, plan on an 1+ hour taxi ride. Golf at Vista Vallarta is not connected to the resort anymore either. Book online for a better price because green fees are expensive. Brought our gloves but rented clubs. Had to purchase golf balls at $27 per sleeve (3 balls), yikes. If you can, bring your own. Taxi ride there is about $20-25 US each way. Watch out for booking this resort in June as well. It's the start of their rainy season. We had rain, thunderstorms and several cloudy days. We always make the most of it though! Hoping these are helpful pointers for fellow travelers. (FYI, the onsite Covid test was handled very well, could not have been easier.) Again, the staff was as kind as can be!…
