Hands down our second home is Sunset. We come here every year during kids’ spring break or summer vacation. This is definitely our go to place. The place is so relaxing, the grounds are well kept. Rooms smell good and clean, restaurants cater really good food. The people are friendly and really nice. My children enjoy the kids’ club. The manager Javier is always helpful. I talked to him a year ago about the deep fried tilapia (one of my favorites) that they used to have and has now been removed from their menu. He’s always there if you need him. And yes, Rubin is always there to help you too. Our family loves coming here. They’re close until December (hence we ended up staying at the grand Pelicanos for the summer) so we’re planning to go back in December. FYI, they still haven’t completed all towers. Last year, foundation was just erected and now it has come long way. So excited once towers are all completed.

I am fearful of writing about this fabulous hotel because it is such a great place to be and feel like it’s my secret. But the staff is one of the biggest reason we stay here and they deserve to be recognized. We have been going to PV for many years and thru out that time we have create a fun group that meets every Feb from the US and Canada. Sunset provides a great amount of space, beautiful grounds and view, fun times that makes this our 2nd home. Sometimes coming 2x a year. Food is excellent and a large variety, they bend over backwards for their guests. Javier and all the butlers are at your beck and call meeting your needs have a fabulous stay. We are booked for Feb again, hoping we can travel there. Hotel is smaller and more personable.

We have been visiting Puerto Vallarta every year on our Anniversary since our Honeymoon in 2007. We stayed at another hotel for 10 years. We met people there who became our good friends. They started to stay at Sunset Plaza a year before we did. We wanted to stay at the original hotel for our 10th Anniversary. It was not enjoyable. Our friends invited us for a tour of Sunset and we decided that the next year we would stay there. We just completed our third year there and are very happy. The employees are all very helpful and friendly. The food is good and there is a good variety. The rooms are large and luxurious. There are families with children, if you have a problem with that. They have a gym, a Deli, and a Pizza place—so great!
