I posted this review for Lindo Mar, but somehow it got saved under "Playa Conchos Chinas". The review IS for LINDO MAR. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had read reviews stating otherwise, but that was not my experience. Was it because we were friendly and interacted with them, and tipped our bellman, server, bartender, room service/cleaning staff? Maybe, but everyone should do that! Old timeshare means large rooms and great proximity to the ocean. Feb2021 : Pool/hot tub/gym closed due to COVID restrictions, but cleanliness, health a priority to all of the staff. Easy, free parking. 2 x elevators worked well, as did the internet. 2 x happy hours a day. Some rooms renovated, others not.
Love the Lindo Mar. Small, authentic, nice beach with palapas. We got a remolded room...very nice and keeping with true Mexican décor. Beautiful views from the balcony. Great staff. The restaurant has improved since our last visit. We ate most of our meals here instead of travelling into town.
Loved it! Enjoyed of a memorable morning, with a delicious Mexican breakfast (I had green chilaquiles) right text to the ocean, waves whispering and pampered with great service. The place is located very close from the “Romantic Zone” (you can even get by bus). We didn’t stay at the beach but it looks like a good spot to enjoy of a good sandy & salty day.
This is a 1980's-style timeshare resort built into the mountainside with most rooms facing the ocean at a picturesque spot. You hear the waves hit the rocks in front of a narrow sand beach immediately below the resort's pool area. Our check-in on a Saturday was like a bad first chapter in an otherwise good book. We did not feel welcome after presenting our exchange certificate. There appears to be a special bond between the older, loyal timeshare-owner crowd and the long-time employees who call each other by first names and hug each other (observed on several occasions). We had an updated unit with a pleasing decors, a full kitchen and large balcony. The two bedrooms had windows facing the hallway, and I noticed upon entry that one had the frame separated from the glass pane. Carlos came immediately and rectified the problem in a competent manner. We tipped all staff generously except for those at the reception. On the first night, a loud event took place next door with the DJ pushing the bass to a level that caused thumping noises throughout the building and possibly seismic misreadings at the SSN. As a result, we went out on early evenings and enjoyed shows at NachoDaddy and Incanta in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant at the resort is good for the American palate, but for dinner, we preferred El Set next door at the street level. After a few days, we really enjoyed the scenery, the sound of the ocean, and understood why the legacy timeshare owners keep coming back. The enchanting element raised our rating to a 4.…
