My husband and I keep returning to The Grand Miramar because its phenomenal! The views are truly breath taking, it’s not a party scene so it’s quiet and relaxing, the service /drinks/food around the pools are top notch, the security is very professional and thorough, the people who work there are genuinely kind and professional. The rooms are kept immaculate. Concierge will give you advice about restaurants and excursions. We love The Grand Miramar and highly recommend staying there for your next vacation to Puerto Vallarta! The downtown is so close, a quick 5 minute Uber to delicious restaurants and a safe town to explore. Can you tell I want to go back? 😍
The good things - large, clean room, fabulous view, good room amenities (except towels) The bad things - acoustics! We were in room 501 opposite the elevators on the lobby floor. The noise from the main pool to our room was loud and obnoxious even with the patio door closed because of the proximity. People were screaming and doors slamming in the hallway from 3:15 - 4:15AM. I thought there might be a fight going on. No way to call security. Is there no one at the front desk during the night? The noise level in the breakfast restaurant was unreal. You can’t talk or hear yourself think in there. Food was just okay. There was a power outage last night so we were on generator till 10pm. Because of this, dinner at Eugenia took 2 hours and all we had was a entree. When dinner did arrive it was tepid at best. The upper pool is adults only and we enjoyed our morning there until a bunch of guys showed up with a loud boom box blaring music and singing. This is going to seem picky but the bathroom towels are rough and scratchy. We were there on a weekend which is probably the reason for all the noise. The price was right but I don’t think we will return. There are too many other good resorts in PV.…
Fiancé and I went with another couple and had a great late winter getaway. Amazing food and staff were above and beyond what we expected. Victor at the front desk was amazingly great and funny. Helpful with anything we needed. Daniel in the restaurants was also fun and helpful. Raul(?) at the pool bar/restaurant was hilarious and kept funny banter going all the time we were lounging around in the pools. My only negative is that it’s way up at the top of the hill south of town, which makes a taxi needed for most trips to the beach or town. But hiking down and back is a great way to work off those tacos! And the plus of being up high are the amazing views and lack of noise from crowded party areas and roads.
From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, we were met with incredible service. From the spa to the delicious breakfast to the pools and view! Special thanks to Kevin at check, to Edgar with late night drink service on the rooftop, to the whole breakfast crew to Alberto Alvarez - we felt cared for in every way!
A beautiful property in the Sierra Madre mountains. Our concierge Alberto Alvarez was a gem 💎 Luca at the Esterelle restaurant gave us a real education in food and tequila. All around, a wonderful week in Puerto Vallarta
From the moment you walk in your in WOW with the views. And your room is the same. The service is 2nd to none.Special thanks to Raul and Victor,Roberto,Salvadore .Pools are fantastic. If your thinking of booking just do it.And your only a 5 dollar cab ride to town.
The hotel itself is a little hard to get to; you'll feel bad for your Uber driver's car that has to crawl up the bumpy rock road to get to this establishment. It's not walking distance to anything as it's very high up, which in turn, made for some spectacular views. Especially from the rooftop pool, which for me was the highlight. Made for some awesome photos and great views both in the daytime and at night. Rooms were clean and well kept, but you'll want to stay in the newer building.
I booked and pre-paid my hotel at the Grand Miramar through trip.com . I had originally booked through expedia at a hotel right nextdoor called Mondavi, which is equally nice - maybe even better, but I got a better price on trip.com for the Grand Miramar so I canceled with Expedia....big mistake! We arrived fairly late as our plane was delayed. When we got to the hotel they hotel told us there was no booking for us there. I showed them my printed confirmation and even showed them the emails on my phone. We were exhausted and yet the night manager / reception desk manager acted like we were trying to scam them or something. He quized us repeatedly and suspiciously for 45 minutes before finally calling his manager. He was told not to honor the booking price, and to charge us full price for a room. He acted like he was doing us a favor telling us he was giving us the last room available, when instead we got completely ripped off. We were hungry and hadn't eaten all day due to plane & travel delays so we asked if the restaurant was still open. He said yes but it closed soon. Finally as we were being escorted to our room, we asked the bellboy if we could first go to the restaurant and we still were a few minutes before closing time and he radioed them and they said they would NOT seat us. So instead we went to our room extremely hungry. The room was nice however it had an adjoining door to the next room that would not lock. We called the front desk and they told us we were doing it wrong. We insisted we were doing it correctly. Finally they sent a maintenance guy...took him 20 minutes to get to us and find that yes, the lock was indeed broken. He fixed it in 10 minutes and then left. Exhausted, we went to sleep. The next morning, I called trip.com and then the finger pointing began between the hotel & trip.com. The end result was that one of the 2 of them screwed up but neither would admit it...BUT we got charged double the price we had purchased our room for online. We had a great breakfast ( included in the cost of the room) and everyone of the restaurant workers was excellent and friendly. So was the reception front desk girl at our check out. That's the only reason this is a 3 star rating... it would have been a zero. The hotel is nice, the food is good and most of the staff are great, but some really suck and the way this was handled was a zero star rating. Go next-door to Mondavi if you want the same location, quality and view. Go to Grand Miramar if you want a hassle. Our situation is still NOT resolved 5 days later. …
Mario, Raul, Victor, Alberto, Salvador, Karina and so many more whose names I don't remember but whose service I will never forget, were always professional, courteous, helpful, respectful and didn't wait to be asked. Next was Erik, Alex and Alam with DL tours who are stationed in front of Antonio, the wonderful concierge. Erik had incredible deals for all sorts of tours and we did 3 in one week. Antonio has an unlimited amount of ideas . The breakfast buffet was so delicious with several options. The chef cooked everything perfectly. The wait staff was constantly making sure that our drinks were filled, brought us butter, toast and anything we ask for. The housekeeping staff was unbelievable. Mirna clean ours perfectly everyday. Our rooms were clean and kept once in the morning and were tidied up once in the evening. The floors were shiny and spotless. The beds were super comfortable, the rooms were very large and again, each one has a complete view of the ocean from the top of the hill. Simply unmatched anywhere we've been. The pool guy was outstanding too and kept checking on us for drinks or snacks and of course the adults only infinity pool was out of this world. Everything at this resort, the pool, the restaurants in the morning or at night, the busboys, the housekeeping, the rooms, the different pools, the location, the view, the cleanliness, I mean everything was out of this world. Come by, you won't regret it. …
We recently had our destination wedding at the Grand Miramar that was fabulous! Our group rented 36+ rooms from the Grand Miramar and had 2 of our 3 events at the Grand Miramar. Everything was amazing and just top notch! The view anywhere in the hotel is one of the most beautiful views most of us had ever seen! The rooms were so clean, the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. They also did turn down service in the evening which was such a treat! We had hired some of the bartenders for a welcome party, most of the servers and bartenders for the wedding were the ones we got to know going to breakfast each morning. All of the staff was extra lay attentive and willing to go the extra effort to help us especially Alberto the bellman was constantly happy to help with all of our items moving around the hotel and event to event, he did it with such a great attitude and smile on his face! Food was great at the wedding and by the pool, we highly recommend any of the tacos but the ribeye tacos were a group favorite. The service was also great lead by Raul! We had fantastic massage there as well, the spa was amazing, I wish we could have spent more time there! Overall, I can’t say enough great things about the Grand Miramar and I was so pleased with everything. My only recommendation would be if you do have a wedding here, hire a wedding planner to help make sure the festivities fall inline with the schedule and help with organization day of.…
