Hello, well family grabs the bags and flew to Puerto Vallarta (old Vallarta) in Jalisco Mexico, the arrival was on time, getting the keys was a little long like a 45 minutes we were 18 people. after arriving to the room was big, a king bed and also a sofa and single beds next to the window. the hotel restaurants were ok, menu mostly Mexican Items buffet, after the 3rd day i was craving a thick steak, they have a la cart restaurant but only have 6 tables and the wait was BIG, arrive early if want some meat. the personnel were great always around. the hotel is very center in the main road going to the Malecon and the different tourist areas, and going to the opposite way you can rent a car and go to different little town and see they festivals. but allocate a very generous time frame for driving traffic is very heavy in the avenue . My family love the food and the hotel overall, I was the one that expected more international items and better taste from the restaurants, i compare to Cancun Caribe Hotel. OHHHHH one important thing NO WIFI available in rooms only in the lobby and is very slow!!

Well, we spent 8 nights The Tiki taco restaurant is horrible : bad food and bad service😥 On the other hand the Italian restaurant was the best: great food and great service. The buffets were not that good either😥 The beach is dirty as well as the pools😥 Rooms need a lot work ... the shower had no door, so the bathroom was always wet....

The Bad: We arrived on Saturday around 3pm to see a single pool with about 100 people in it. We later learned that many locals came to Sunscape Friday and Saturday nights and the crowds for our remaining stay was more like 20 to 30 tops in the pool. The outside of the buildings show signs of paint peeling, the pool has tiles coming off throughout and the rooms are very dated. The gym is extremely small and there is very little for equipment. There are only 4 restaurants on site if you don't count the burger and dogs truck for lunch. One very disappointing thing is there is no WiFi in the rooms and you must pay $40 for 5 days on 2 devices. This is the first time I have been to an All-Inclusive where WiFi was not included. We are UVC members and this is by far the most disappointing resort we have been to. The good: The food overall is good and DaMario's is excellent. The drinks throughout our stay were very good regardless of bar. The beach was very wide and the space to covered spaces and chairs was a plenty. We had couples massage on the beach for a great price and that was fantastic.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta was a decent resort. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond. If it wasn’t for the staff I wouldn’t go back I don’t think. My husband and I renewed our vows and their wedding coordinator Sinai did an absolutely wonderful job. Mexico didn’t cooperate with the weather and Sinai had the guests moved to under the gazebo and had umbrellas for me to walk down the aisle. As for the rest of the vacation… if you are not upgraded to the sunclub you don’t get your fridge stocked everyday. There wasn’t much food options for picky eaters. I don’t know if it was because it wasn’t tourist season but the resort manly catered to Mexican guests. Often we had no idea what was going on because the staff was speaking Spanish. If they saw we were there they did speak English and Spanish though. I feel like the nightly entertainment would have been different if it was tourist season. The Italian restaurant was delicious but the others were not great. And Daniel was an amazing waiter! So funny and nice to chat with. Hotel itself could use some renos but I mean for the price we paid we weren’t complaining. Beds, comfy. Air conditioning, working. View, gorgeous. But like I said, you could stay in a 5 star resort and the staff are crap so it was nice to have amazing staff. We had a great vacation and if the food was better I would have given 5 stars!

WOW! Below are some descriptions of pictures taken, regarding issues at this "resort": "Bar Line" - That impromptu photo was taken to give a quick glance at what the only bar open past 7p looked like throughout most of the nights (starting at 7pm when it becomes the ONLY bar open on the property, aside from one that requires an additional fee to access). "Basketball Court" - This picture was taken to show some of the outdated amenities offered at this "resort". "Gym" - This picture was taken to show more of the outdated amenities offered at a location. "Scrambled Eggs Breakfast" - This delicious looking picture was so appetizing, I couldn't resist sharing. But yes, you're seeing and reading this correctly; these were the scrambled eggs offered for breakfast at one of the two restaurants open in the morning. I didn't want to be seen taking pictures of all their food, but believe me when I say that it did not get much better than what you're seeing. "Sheet Stain, Stained Sheets" - These pictures show a few of the multiple yellow stains we found on our sheet sets. We were told they didn't have rooms with King size beds left, which was quite surprising given the amount of children at this family aimed hotel. That led to us having a room with two double beds, each with stains, and each competing for lumpiness. I'd have to assume they were either poorly made, and/or at least 15-20 years old. "Brown Water" - The resort is located just South of some sort of river, which leads to what appeared to be daily dumping into the ocean, likely contaminating the waters (as well as creating a risk for gators, addressed below). "Gator Pics/Sign" - Once again, this resort is just South of a dirty river, where locals say it's very common to see/encounter alligators. These gators get so close to the beach/shore, right out front of the resort, that they had a sign they would put out during a spotting. They would require that everyone exit the water during the spotting (obviously), but we were told they only leave the sign up for 24 hours after a spotting (allowing swimmers back in later that day, and/or the following day). THEN, we were told that they were now installing the sign permanently (Sunday night, Aug. 7th). Yikes! "Release Doc" - I believe the picture is clear enough to be read, but it was a document they tried to have me sign after trying to get out of the reservation I was setup with. As we walked through the property, nearing the front desk, we were approached by a member of the concierge team. He started the conversation by saying, "There you two are, I was sort of looking for you. I heard you both are unhappy here at our resort, and would like to leave. Is this true?". It was incredibly confrontational and quite uncomfortable. After confirming his information/question, and explaining some of our reasoning, he asked us to come over to the concierge desk and sign a document for his manager, stating that it'd only take a second, and is no problem and no big deal. This document ended up essentially being their way of trying to clear themselves of any responsibility or accountability. Sad to think how many unhappy travelers had previously signed away their rights, likely after some alcohol consumption, as they likely assumed would be the case when they approached us. Not Pictured, but Worth Mentioning: Property Limitations - Limited hours of availability with some of their offerings. Examples include, few options for breakfast or lunch ( 2 in the morning, 2 for lunch, plus their "food truck" near the pool). Limited pool; just one, with no adult section of any kind. Their kid splash area is only open from noon to 5pm, making the only pool overcrowded (mostly children) before noon, and again into the late afternoon. Room service was part of an upgrade that must be paid for, which is uncommon among all-inclusive 4 star hotels/resorts, in my experience. And good luck getting ICE! For some reason, ice was a tough commodity to get a hold of. No ice machines anywhere on the property (or a/c, aside from your room). PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF - GO ELSEWHERE!!

My family and I just spent a week at this resort for my sister's 25 wedding anniversary/vow renewal. We had a fantastic time. This resort is rated at 3.5 stars and you have to go in expecting some less than perfect qualities. For people who do not focus on negatives and let them define their vacation, this is a really great place to stay. The rooms and hotel need upgrade and the food is not the best unless you go to the Italian or Surfside grill which we found to be really good. The buffet has limited options. Soooo these are the only negatives I have. The entertainment staff are amazing. Isaac, Silva, Tony. They ALL work very long days, never have an attitude, are always positive and pleasant and energetic. They definitely try to make a connection with their guests. We had so much fun with them. The pool is amazing. The entertainment at the pool was great as well. Water aerobics, volleyball, zumba etc. The evening entertainment was good but it's not tourist season so the musical entertainment seemed to be more what the locals would prefer but they did have a karaoke and dj night as well as a pirate show and Mexican show. My sister's vow renewal was organized professionally. The ceremony was beautiful. The resort provided a cake and champagne as well. The wedding coordinator was amazing. In summary, I had an amazing time and miss it already. Everyone there goes above and beyond!!!

We’ve been looking forward to visiting Sunscape Puerto Vallarta every year for the last five years. We are now considering vacationing there twice/year because we enjoy seeing the same great people that take such good care of us there. Cirilo is our waiter every evening and he makes sure we always have an ocean view dinner table. He’s been taking care of us for the last five years & we can’t wait to see him & Rosendo (restaurant manager) again. The resort is beautiful and the food is delicious! Everyone at the hotel remembers my husband’s name and I find that cute. The staff at the resort truly enjoy making connections with us & other hotel guests. Sunscape is our 2nd home!

We had a wonderful time during our 5th year in a row visit to Sunscape Puerto Vallarta. The reason we keep going back is because of the staff: Cirilo our dinner waiter, Rosendo restaurant manager, and Omar & Victor-bartenders. Cirilo has been taking care of us for five years and we always look forward to dinner at the Sunscape World Cafe because of him. We can’t wait to see Cirilo again soon. Ask for Cirilo when you visit Sunscape Puerto Vallarta and you’ll see why this is our home away from home!!

So I have been to several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and this has been the worst. The rooms are in dire need of remodeling. I was here with another couple and there were several inconsistencies with the rooms....which were supposed to be the same. Minor things like the other couples room having an ice bucket and a "do not disturb" door handle sign. Our room had a noticeably larger TV and an air conditioner that worked. The rooms were actually okay, overall. Now, for the food....terrible. there was very little variety and not alot of options. The best food was at the Italian restaurant....in Mexico. That makes sense. Now for the service....it was a mixed bag. There were a couple of servers that really went above a beyond, but the hostesses and majority of wait staff need retraining. On a side note, I realize that this is resort is in Mexico and thar Spanish is the main (and maybe official) language there. I know some Spanish but I believe the overwhelming majority need to have a solid understanding of English, due to the vast amount of American tourists they attract. As stated by a tour guide on one of of excursions, it is because of us (the tourists) that we (residents and workers) are allowed to eat and thrive. If that is the case, why not focus on being able to communicate with those visiting your land? Overall, it was an at best okay experience and will strongly urge anyone looking here to look elsewhere. The price is barely more for other locations that will care to provide a better experience.

This was our first family vacation to Puerto Vallarta Mexico . The Sunscape report came recommended to us by family that live here. Our experience has exceeded our expectations. The staff were welcoming, kind with first class hospitality. The room was clean and spacious and had a nice view. The food was excellent! There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food service and bar staff were simply amazing! The swim up bar was simply fantastic! The entertainment was world class , something for sure everyone at every age. We especially loved the pool dancing, night time fire show and live music. You will never be short on things to do at this resort. The front desk staff were very helpful. A massive shout out to Demian from concierge for his kindness to ensure we were confortable while we waited for our airport transfer for our delayed flight. I would highly recommend this resort for you and your family.
