The Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive & Spa has earned acclaim for its comprehensive amenities, including the lauded Sonne Club and a variety of dining choices, all set against a backdrop of stunning ocean vistas. Guests commend the exceptional service, marked by the staff's genuine warmth and attentiveness. While the vibrant atmosphere with lively music and entertainment is celebrated, some find it detracts from the tranquility.
Many endorse the value of an upgrade to club level for an enhanced experience, despite occasional concerns over costs. The rooms are consistently recognized for their cleanliness and comfort, although noise and dated decor have been noted by some travelers. Situated conveniently between the airport and downtown, the hotel's location is ideal for those looking to explore local attractions.

Hotel's Favorite
Have stayed at Fiesta Americana in Cancun many times but first time at Puerto Vallarta. Hotel is a bit dated and is undergoing some construction. The hotel is conveniently located about 12-15 minutes from the airport and right in the middle of the strip between the Centro and Zona Romantica (to the south) and Marina Vallarta (to the north). We easily walked to both (about 2 miles) and no turns so you can’t get lost.
But what is Fiesta Americana known for? SERVICE!
The entire experience from beginning to end came with excellent customer service. I highly encourage you to pay additional for the Club upgrade and get access to the adults-only pool. Here you will find the very nicest and accommodating employees, Rafael ( Rafa) and Ignacio (Nacho). They took care of us all week and truly made our stay memorable.
While we didn’t spend much time at the main pool, the entertainment was very boring. I may be comparing my experience to Cancun, but I could not see spending all day there listening to background music. Certainly not a fun/party atmosphere.
We ate at the Italian, cevicceria and buffet restaurants. Good was very good and service was great. Special thanks to Captain, Darcy Bravo who helped us make reservations and always greeted us by name, ensure that everything was perfect during our stay.
One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying our morning coffee overlooking the water and seeing dolphins. Additionally, I hit the gym each day and there’s plenty of equipment to get in a great workout.
In addition to its proximity to the Centro, there’s some great restaurants within walking distance, a supermarket across the street, and a Walmart and Sam’s Club within walking distance.
Overall, a very good stay at the Fiesta Americana - excellent service, great location and close to everything you could need.

We don't usually go to all-inclusives but we just needed a break from any and all planning and we made the right call! The biggest decision in the day will be which drink to order and what you want for your next meal.
Almost all rooms have an ocean view. It is set back a ways from the water but I was delighted to find that I could hear the waves from bed at night with the door left open.
The food was really excellent. We stayed away from the buffet, which was easy to do. In addition to the buffet, at breakfast they have someone making fresh cracked omelettes and amazing quesadillas with freshly made on the spot tortillas. YUM!
Food in the restaurants was generally very good. We found that our favorites were usually just the grilled meats or any of the Mexican dishes. The tamale appetizer in the Mexican restaurant was a favorite, as well as the potstickers in the Asian and salad w candied nuts in the Italian. Could have eaten each of those every meal!
Servers were exceptionally friendly but honestly, 90% of the time got our orders completely wrong. I just think that their English is generally fairly weak so can't fault them as my Spanish is pitiful.
Housekeeping does a fantastic job. I really don't know how they keep the floor so clean with people coming in and out from the beach. They changed our sheets as often as we asked.
We paid extra for a room that included the adults-only pool. It was wonderful, but they often run out of chairs that are shaded/have umbrellas and this is a bit of a problem, though they tried to accommodate us very kindly. They need to either limit the people in that area or open up more spaces that are shaded rather than separately renting them out.. I am not allowed more than 20 minutes of full sun a day, so thanks to Betty for her kind help with finding me shade! She saved the day and was always super friendly, efficient and in charge!
One turn-off for me was the constant feeling that all the employees were being pressured to get mentions and good reviews . This makes me uncomfortable and I just don't think it's fair to either of us.
I did really like and appreciate that they had water in several locations to refill the bottles from the rooms. This is so much less wasteful!

This hotel went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and safe.
The Covid protocols were better than most places in the US. Mask wear was required in public areas and hand sanitizer stations were everywhere.
Upon arrival we upgraded our rooms at a very small cost. The views were phenomenal and the staff moved things around to make sure our rooms were right next door to our children.
The room service staff was excellent and never complained when our kids ordered room service like they were royalty. Additionally, when our kids ordered things alone from the pool, the staff never made them feel like they were a nuisance. The kids club staff were awesome. They allowed me to tag along for certain activities such as fish feeding and then they set up a bunch of fun activities for our little one. I recently saw how an UNO tournament amongst elementary aged kids could get serious! They handled it with care, gave them candy, and then did more activities.
The staff at all of the restaurants were great!
When our drinks were low, refills came without us asking.
You will need to make reservations for restaurants at dinner, but if you don’t, they’ll find a table for you if it’s a small party. All of the food was good and plentiful.
The excursions desk is helpful. We booked very reasonable excursions. The ATV and Ocean Mania are awesome. Please do ocean mania. You’ll need to find your own transportation, but taxis are right outside of the door and cheap.
I’d recommend this hotel to large families and those who want a world class experience at a great price.

Their COVID protocol’s are taken very seriously as they clean constantly and masks are expected to be worn everywhere except at your seat or in the pool. Otherwise, if your up moving around, you must wear your mask.
As before and as mentioned in other reviews, the front desk upon check-in can be a challenge. We had an issue with the number of rooms we reserved but because I carried a hard copy of our reservation, I was able get it resolved pretty quickly but don’t think I would have had the same result had I not been prepared.
This was our second trip to Fiesta American Puerto Vallarta in 3 years (see other review). Although everything was good, I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that some of my favorite dishes from our last visit were no longer offered and the activities were lacking. They posted daily activities on a board between the pool and beach but it was rarely accurate or if it was, there were no announcements or anyone going around encouraging participation like during our previous visit. Pollo (the Activities Director) is very enthusiastic and does a great job but is trying to do everything himself as he is the only one for all activities for adults and children.
Pool/beach attendants/servers’ shift starts at noon. So, you’ll need to use the pool bar to order drinks if you want a drink before then (so I hear :). On our second day, we were very excited when Carlos came to take our drink order by the pool. Carlos was our phenomenal server during our previous trip. He and his team (Pedro and Andres) go above and beyond to ensure that he finds drinks to suit your tastes and that you never get thirsty. Luis also did a great job on our first day and when we hung out on the beach.
Just to the left of La Cevicheria (which still has the best shrimp or fish tacos) Reyna, Raul and Zara give great massages on the beach at very reasonable rates.

Coming to spend time at our home away from home Fiesta Americanna every Thanksgiving is not only a tradition for us but something that we look forward to from the beginning of the year. The weather is always perfect during this time of year and we have never encountered any humid nor uncomfortable weather. The property and their wonderful staff are very consistent and and always welcoming with their general manager Sr. Rangel, concierge mgr Brenda Santos and Mariana who are so instrumental in arranging and booking our room and requests. From the moment that you arrive the bell boys Sebastian & Hector greet you with a wonderful buenos tardes! Checking in at the front desk was a snap and before you knew it we were already up in our room overlooking the gorgeous Bay of Banderas. Of course we couldn’t wait to put on her bathing suits and dash down to the pool to enjoy fantastic service by Raffi in the house, Nacho, Carlos and Jessica. They don’t expect any gratuity but we always prefer to show our appreciation in that manner to them. Since we have a young adult in our family we don’t often visit the adult pool but when we do it is so tranquil and gorgeous with delicious food and top-notch drinks served by Sergio and Santos and hosted by Bernidice. The food at all of the restaurants are fantastic and my favorite dish at the Italian is the risotto con fungi and we love the tequila prawns at the Mexican restaurant along with the homemade chili relleno! We must admit we truly missed the live entertainment by the pianist Rico that we have enjoyed so many years in the past and hope when Covid is done that they bring him back as he is so entertaining and enjoyable (hint hint). In the morning my wife would always go to the café and get a special cappuccino made by a wonderful lady name Guadalupe and then we would head over for breakfast to the Chula Vista where we were always greeted with a glowing smile from Tania and the service by the waiters Rosalio and Marcos were spot on. Switching gears I’d like to mention that the hotel is kept very very clean and makes you feel extremely safe during the Covid with them taking all precautions. Our room was clean every day with a gentle smile from Maria and we were never concerned of anything that we might have left out as she is very trustworthy. I know it seems very unusual for what I am about to mention, but the gentleman named Artemio at the towel area was always so kind and friendly. I noticed his extremely hard work and dedication as he was always the first person at the pool in the morning and the last to leave in the evening after he mopped and cleaned everything. Lastly a quick shout out to Esteban at the Expedia desk who arranged a wonderful private snorkel and fishing trip to Las Animas - it is a memorable and fantastic half-day trip that you must do. My only suggestion is to designate an area of the lobby bar so that young adults can enjoy with their families and not be separated. Other than that all I can say is GO GO GO!!!:) Look forward to seeing you all again next year, Marcos, Angelica & Cameron

My 5 star rating isn’t for the resort as a whole, it is for Ricardo, Andres and Juan at the adult pool (which is an extra charge not included in the regular resort price) made the experience great for us! They are friendly, fast, and always make you feel welcome. The view from the adult pool, having less visitors, and service make it well worth the extra charge. We spent a majority of our time at this resort at the adult pool area due to this. And the adult pool is the only area that has premium liquor as well 😁
Covid19 PSA the beach is currently closing daily at 3pm, restaurants/bars close at 8:30pm, there is construction going on at the main pool (1/4 of that pool is closed), the swim up bar at the main pool is closed, you must wear masks everywhere to speak to anyone, and the adult pool closes at 6pm.
The main resort I would give a 3 star rating. The resort is only 10 minutes from the airport (about 120 pesos) and 10 minutes from the resort to downtown market (120 pesos). The resort was clean and sanitized well. Lots of palm trees and the beach is nice sand. We had questionable service at the restaurants. Had to ask 4 times just to get a glass of water and had very long wait times for food. We even saw them asking guests to take their desserts to their room because “it was 8:30pm and the restaurant was closing” when it was the long wait times that made these guests “late”. You have to make a reservation for dinner every single night or they will turn you away and tell you to order room service. The resort is family friendly so be prepared for lots of children in the main areas.

We just returned home from a wonderful multi-family vacation in Puerto Vallarta. We were happy to escape winter and enjoy the tropics! We were pleased with the accommodations and service. We purchased the fiesta club level to get the benefit of the Sonne Club adult pool which was worth the added cost. Ricardo and Andres were so attentive and humored us throughout the day! Their service really made our vacation stay great! In the evening Rubi and Caroline were great too at the lobby lounge.
The rooms were fine, nothing great but the views were spectacular and all the rooms face the ocean but the club level is higher for great views. We were able to look out and watch the whales in the morning. The outdoor spaces were beautiful and the main pool area active. Not much going on in terms of activities besides one water aerobics class and some kids activities. This would be my only suggestion is to offer more activities for young adults/adults. It would be nice to have volleyball, or trivia games in Lobby bar at night or something to entertain guests in the evening rather than just drinking cocktails. They took down the volleyball net because of covid but all the other resorts have beach activities. Since we had a 9 in our party we entertained ourselves otherwise people may be bored. We booked a sailboat, jet skis and did an ATV/zip lining tour. Our 21year olds loved it.
The food was good, and we preferred the Mexican and Asian dining for consistency and menu. The Friday night Mexican night was fun with a fabulous mariachi band!! The cevicheria restaurant had great tacos. Dining is all outdoors for the most part and I felt they did a good job cleaning.
We were pleased with the resort and it met our expectations but the service was above and beyond. I recommend.

For lunch you can’t beat the shrimp tacos and for dinner Italian was delicious! The sushi chef can make anything you want as long as you can tell him what is in it.
Even with the hotel at 100% capacity we had not problem finding pool chairs at 11am.
The cooking classes at 1:30 are always fun. The catch of the day on Saturday is worth sticking around for. The pool side servers get a new section each week. Once you find one you love it’s worth following them to a new section if you need to.
We like to take a trip to the zoo. It’s not close to the hotel but for $90 USD you can feed all the animals in the zoo and hold baby tigers and lions!
Milton with the activities team was great. He helped us find things we wanted to do, was very personal, remembered our names and always greeted us.
Luis our poolside waiter was absolutely AMAZING!! Our first day he was so nice and we talked for a bit. After that, he remembered our names and used them EVERY TIME he talked to us! He knew all 5 of our names and what we each liked to drink and what we liked to eat. He recommended different things on the menu when we were looking to try new things. He was so sweet with grandma and by then end of our trip we even had little inside jokes with him. He made our poolside experience better than we have ever had. I would sit anywhere I had to so I could be in his section!
Alma at the front desk was very gracious when we had some challenges with our room and was sweet and helpful every time we needed her help.

We came to the Fiesta Americana for a family wedding, We were very happy when we arrived and were happily greeted by the front desk and bellhop, everything looked to be clean and welcoming. Once we got to our room on the 7th floor we were happy with the view from the room and it looked to be clean but nothing fancy. Our in room safe took 2 days to get repaired. Second morning it would not open or anything and had to wait for maintenance guy to open it to get our belongings out, wasnt happy and they didnt seem to care.. When you first come down they try hard to get you to do a timeshare style breakfast speech which we did not want any part of. After a couple of days started to meet lots of the staff which I must stay 90% were excellent but the other 10% were not, the one server at the swim bar pretty much refused to serve us. Just ignored the group including the kids asking for soda.. Milton is a shining star around this resort, he was fun and outgoing and willing to help with whatever you needed. Rafael was one of the pool servers and restaurant as well that was by far my favorite Good job Rafe! The coffee shop lady was outstanding by day 2 she knew exactly what you wanted and was super friendly. The kids club was also a positive they were all great. The concierge woman was brutal, and rude! Which really makes for a poor experience when the one you go see for information or questions is disrespectful and unpolite. If this was my business and reading lots of the other travellers reviews it seems to be a poor aspect of this resort and she would no longer be working for the resort. We payed to stay here for 11 days instead of 10 because of superbowl and then when it came to the day of superbowl all these signs went up that it was 25usd per adult and 20usd for kids to go watch the superbowl in the one banquet rooms. They were promoting a menu with better items but all turned out to be same as you could get at there lunch shack. (Burgers, hotdogs and ribs/wings. And when we asked the concierge why we had to pay more for this as it is all the same and we payed to come All Inclusive and her response was "Because we have a business to run you know" We said we understand this but that's why we came for the length we did and its suppose to be All Inclusive. That is one huge disappointment about this resort as if you want to use a hot tub or better sitting area for breakfast or really anything you have to pay more on top of the 6000usd+ to come here. They most definitely do not say anything when booking. The one other point that was upsetting is for 7 of the days we were here there were quite a few smaller children with and they were allowed to sit on the couches out from the lobby bar but the one night all of a sudden they were not, how can you do it part of the time but not all the time. They're is no night entertainment or anything for family's to do after dinner around this resort.
To close out my opinion for our family trip was 3 stars, the food was pretty normal for an All Inclusive resort in mexico and if it wasnt for the the staff I met mentioned above it would have been lower. Was a ok resort but for the money not worth it.

This is the second time we have frequented the Fiesta Americana and we will be back!
Brenda, Santos Estada, Guest Services Manager is amazing. We are a group of 16 people celebrating anniversaries and she has bent over backwards to ensure we are having a great time!
The food is excellent, the beef ribs and beef roast beef literally fell apart and very tasty.
The drinks are not watered down and the staff are very attentive to refilling coffee, champagne or drinks, even around the pool!
Our hats are off to this resort!
Come! You won't be disappointed!

It wasn’t necessarily the construction when we were there last month - didn’t see construction team until 8am. It was more the staff power washing pool furniture at 7am that woke us up. Suggest that you ask the front desk what time construction is supposed to start.
Honestly, it’s not really a big deal depending on the time of year you visit and hotel occupancy. However, if you decide to do it, I would go with the adults only because they have TV’s in their cabanas. There was one couple that rented it just to watch football games and had tacos and beers with friends.
It’s not a sprawling property. Didn’t see a hotel map and honestly you can explore the entire property in a short amount of time.
They are constructing a new cevicceria/seafood taco spot at the north end of the property. Temporarily, the cevicceria has been moved next to the lobby bar area.
Note that there was no construction noise observed.
Both are accepted but USD prices are a bit higher to compensate for conversion rate. So best use a credit card that does not have currency conversion fees (many in the US dont), that way you get it at exact conversion rate (cheapest). As far as cash, they prefer Pesos because they lose some on conversion from dollars. But they'll take dollars too.
