We finally had an assistant manager take us to a different room after 5:30P ending any plans that we had for a Wednesday visit to the Maelacon for sunset...

The view from the room we wound up in was outstanding!... We met several other guests who return year after year and perhaps we will be able to go again soon…save us the room with a view, Jesus!...

We had a junior suite, or a "studio" as the hotel calls it... Several days our room was not cleaned or the fridge not restocked, even after we called and told them it wasn't done...

...We also loved the eagerness to "fix" things when we arrived and our rooms were not together...

...The suites are also top of the line in terms of amenities and cleanliness... Security is good, but as long as one has one's room card, one can come and go as one pleases, even late night...

...We had a perfect two room suite and each room connected to a balcony with a gorgeous view... Our first night we were tired from driving and ordered the tacos and margaritas to the room...

...We asked how much a cab ride was and he said 600 pesos ($34 US) but the ride back is cheaper and he told us not to pay more than 450 pesos ($25 US). The rides actually were about 150 pesos ($8.5 Us) each way... He, and other people at the resort, also said that we could buy tickets to a Cirque de Soleil for $110 US and they normally sell for $160 US... We did buy the tickets from them and then found out that we could have bought them directly from Cirque de Soleil for the same price... The 90 minute sales pitch for their vacation club was fairly intense and we weren’t interested... If we had a do over we would have declined their offer and paid for our own massages and bought a better bottle of tequila... It wasn’t worth the 90 minute sales pitch we had to endure...

He said he would give us a free cab ride to our condo... The resort offers tennis and tennis lessons, and the beach walking in either direction is very safe...

Things to bring: hair conditioner and body wash (they give you travel size shampoo, lotion and soap)... Spent a week at the Velas Suites March 2023 with the all- inclusive package as first time customers. This is a very nice, well kept resort... We enjoy a balcony and these studio suites typically don’t have a balcony but we also didn’t want to upgrade... Breakfasts and Lunches are well done... We ate mostly at the Ribera restaurant - it has an ocean view, open and breezy... Exactly what you expect with your warm vacation... My wife and I had a great visit and will definitely go back here again...

Our first night we were tired from driving and ordered the tacos and margaritas to the room... We had one dinner at the Tau Beach Club and start to finish it was amazing...

...One can walk to restaurants and shops in the Marina (the neighborhood is quite safe), and taxi service to downtown is reliable and inexpensive. The suites are also top of the line in terms of amenities and cleanliness... I find the evenings unexciting and the restaurants ordinary, but for families they are fine, as are the many activities... Security is good, but as long as one has one's room card, one can come and go as one pleases, even late night...

...This was our second stay at this lovely hotel. We stayed for 10 days and had a 1 bedroom deluxe suite which was spacious and comfortable with a great view of the pool and beautiful gardens... This hotel is in a great location, and a short drive from the airport... Jacinto and Eric, pool service, and our maid Jasmine who looked after our room really well... Food and drinks were very good, and always friendly, efficient service... We were able to get out and about and enjoy the local sights...

...We expected to leave a 5 star review but The Good Beautiful hotel, lovely grounds, well heated pool Wonderful staff great service at pool or anywhere Prompt room service Good servers Huge room w/terrace - 1 bed deluxe suite The not so good Beach is not the best around for walking/swimming Food is presented well but more like 4 stars. Andrea better of the 2 restaurants but close to the ocean is nice as well... The usual hunt for a lounge that are taken at dawn with towels/books we witnessed on multiple occasions never used - can’t any resort deal with this ?...
