Hotel Mercurio is a charming place in the perfect location. It's by no means a four- or five-star hotel, so anyone looking for one might want to forego this one. The photos on the hotel's website show exactly what to expect, so I suggest checking it before booking. I also recommend booking directly through the website. My recent vacation was both unexpected and impromptu, so I booked everything at the last minute. I got a really sweet deal by making my reservation online directly with the hotel. In addition to Hotel Mercurio's location, it's staff is amazing. While I like to speak as much of my rudimentary Spanish as I can when I'm in Mexico in order to be respectful, everyone at Mercurio speaks great English. If you're worried about a language barrier, don't. You'll encounter

Thank you so much for your wonderful and insightful review. So glad you enjoyed your stay, and your appreciation for the hardworking staff really means a lot to us. I agree with you about the music on Sundays. The DJ is told repeatedly to turn it down... then the dancers and drag performers come out and tell him they need it louder. It seems a battle that is not winnable. I hate to generalize, but Mexican parties are loud... they just don't understand the concept of music at a level permitting conversation. I was in our new local club, CO-DE on Saturday... and it was incredibly loud... much louder than our Sunday party, if you can imagine it! Invest now in hearing-aid stocks, because these kids are all going to need them when they hit 50 years old! LOL! And now, I'm going to share your comments with the DJ! Thank you!

i needed a vacation in Puerto Vallarta again after reading their reviews decided to stay at this hotel for a week was on the third floor nothing fancy but very clean and spacious room with view to the street two bottles of water every day and laundry service for free!! thank you Luis!! ...friendly staff ( some more friendly than others I'm a latino guy and noticed the difference of treatment and comparison to the european descendants)... not a big drinker so i didn't hang out much by the bar... Breakfast was excellent not just an ordinary breakfast and is included with your stay!!! Ate lunch a couple times it was good also, close to the beach, restaurant, clubs and bath houses (lol) I'm definitely coming back soon!!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! A bit perplexed that you felt some difference in your treatment relative to "European descendants" ... Our clientele is probably 75% national during the summer and we're known as the most "national friendly" of the gay hotels in the area (some of which do not market to, or cater to the national market, for whatever reason.) I know that many other Latino guests, nationals or from other countries, don't feel they are treated and any less welcome. If you have a specific name of the staff member whom you feel was less than friendly, we'd really like to know. This is an issue we hear about regarding other businesses, and we take our responsibility very seriously to treat everyone with equal warmth and welcome.

This was my 8th time in PV and apart from my first visit I’ve used the Mercurio for all the rest. The staff are fantastic and are a credit to the hotel. Many have been working there for years and take time to ask how you are doing etc. My room was on the third floor and one that had a newly renovated bathroom, comfortable bed, excellent fan and aircon. Plenty of room to hang up your clothes. The new and improved Breakfast offers a grea variety of food. On Sundays the Burgers, beers n boys is good fun. Happy hour at the bar is a great opportunity to socialise with other guests and locals. Location wise you are within easy walking distance of all the bars and restaurants PV has to offer. Looking forward to my next visit. Price wise it represents excellent value for money. Almost

Hotel Merucurio is a lively, fun and convenient hotel in the Zona Romantica, about three blocks from Playa de los Muertos beach, and walking distance to dozens of good restaurants. The guests tend to be a movie star handsome mix of Anglo male models and hot Latino lovers. Fun time around the pool.
