A big shout out to the team at the Marriott Vallarta. Ernesto, Jesus and Ulises at the Concierge desk were extremely helpful prior to our arrival and very attentive during our stay. We had daily housekeeping service and our room was always clean and tidy thanks to Nelida. The breakfast/buffet at La Estancia is outstanding - fresh fruit and juices, made-to-order omelettes with lots of ingredients to choose from, fresh baked goods, meats & cheeses, smoothies, waffles - and the service was outstanding, especially Juan Quintero. Service and food at Ceviche & Tequila Bar was wonderful. Attentive servers and good food for a lobby bar. The food at Mikado was good, however, the service on a Saturday evening was extremely slow. We had dinner at Las Casitas early in the week and the food and service was good, however, on Sunday evening everything was different. Food was not good, bread basket stale and service was not good. Not sure what happened over the weekend but it was definitely a different dining experience. Per many of the other reviews, the situation with finding an available pool chair was a problem as many of the other guests at this property felt the need to "hoard the chairs and not use them". Selfish tourists with no respect for other guests. The pool attendants were great and tried to assist with lounge chairs if/when there was a chair available. Bell desk staff was terrific and offered lots of good advice about the local area, transportation, etc. Location - very close to the airport, inexpensive transportation from the airport to the hotel. So, to sum it up, it was a great vacation and would highly recommend this property for future stays. …
This was our third visit to this property, and once again it did not disappoint. The room was cleaned and serviced daily (although it was tough to get the room as cool as we wanted at night). We spent a lot of time poolside, and the food and beverage service were great. A special shout-out to Francisco, who remembered us from last year, called us by name, and consistently went the extra mile to make sure we were having a good time. Poolside food was good. The walk-up coffee shop had a very limited choice of breakfast sandwiches, and it would be nice to have a broader choice for those of us who want a quick breakfast with some protein. My wife and I hit the fitness center every morning before going to the pool. Both the weight room and the room with spin bikes/floor mats are too small based upon usage. There is an adjacent indoor “pool” that is only about 12 yards long and heated almost to hot tub temp. They should get rid of the inadequate indoor pool to expand the rest of the fitness center. Also, the weight equipment is dated. It was fully functional but doesn’t make a good impression. Staff in the fitness center are outstanding! We did not eat any dinners at the hotel since there are many restaurants in the harbor area within walking distance. Another good experience at this property!…
From walking in to walking out, everything about this 4 night stay was perfect. Arriving late, Room 1057 was a welcoming sight; a large room with excellent internet access and a spacious balcony was all that was needed. With an abundance of eateries including Champions for steak and a beach bar for tacos, there are enough outlets to satisfy all tastes. Taxis outside are plentiful as are Uber. The marina with an abundance of bars and restaurants is a 15 minute walk.
My husband and I held our wedding events at the Marriott. They were incredibly accommodating and the events team made everything perfect. All of the staff and team were so helpful and friendly and our guests loved the food and grounds. We will be back!!
Eleven members of our family vacationed at this resort for 12 nights. The weather was absolutely perfect. Every day was in the high 70’s or low 80’s with hardly a cloud in the sky between 8 am and 3 pm. The staff was outstanding as always. (See my many reviews over the years.) All of our favorite waiters and bellmen remain constant. In contrast there has been a great deal of administrative turnover in recent years. After the five minute ride from the airport we were greeted by the bellmen. These gentlemen greeted us with the enthusiastic “Welcome Home!” The bellmen are the best. They are courteous, helpful, and efficient. They brought our tons of luggage up to our rooms. They called for our cabs and they possessed a wealth of knowledge about Puerto Vallarta. Special thanks to Hugo, Adrian, Noe, Santiago, Guillermo, Ramiero, Gustavo, and Jose’. Note: Cab fares are still very inexpensive. However there is a rumor that the rates will go up sharply in the near future. Jesus checked us in at the Elite desk and we were able to avoid the line in the lobby. He had three of our four rooms set to go. Although we were again unable to get our usual suites due to a conference of 500 people. The conference had blocked out all of the suites a year in advance. We did get one room upgraded to an oceanfront room and all of our rooms were given complimentary daily breakfast buffets. I realize the conference was guaranteed money, but we remember the many years when we could reserve our usual suites. Note: We never missed a February trip even during the COVID pandemic years when there were no conferences. Times have changed. Ernesto greeted us in the lobby with a huge smile and a hug. We love him! He is the mayor of the resort. The breakfast buffet at the L’estancia restaurant was again the highlight of our day. The waitstaff: Roberto, Pedro Juan, Carlos, Rodolpho, Eduardo, Manuel, and Reyna all pitched in to make our breakfasts amazing. Andea cooked our omelets to order every morning. When we would arrive at 7am, Roberto would have our table set with our coffee pots, juice and waters waiting for us. Thank you! Andrea would start preparing our omelets as we walked in. The selection of food for the buffet remains the best I’ve ever seen. After breakfast we would head to the pool. There was a definite shortage of pool chairs during this trip. 40 or 50 feet people would line up by 8 am to reserve chairs. By 8:30 most all the chairs were taken. My grandkids took up the chore of saving chairs for our group. We were actually in our chairs from 8 am to 2 pm and then we would release them to other guests. I was happy to see additional chairs set up on the courtyard on this trip. We ate lunch at the pool every day. As in past years, the shrimp ceviche, grilled mahi-mahi, and grilled chicken Caesar salads were great. Special thanks to Victor, Richard, Carlos, Raul and Francesco for their great service by the pool every day. The portions are good and the prices very reasonable. As usual Warren was ever present to ensure excellent food service. We watched the Super Bowl at the Ceviche Bar. The hotel set up several extra tv’s to ensure good views of the game. Special thanks to Arturo the bartender and all the waitresses for their great service. We ate dinner twice at Champions Sports bar (which is on site.) The wings and nachos were great. We ate twice at the Mikado Restaurant. Once we had sushi and our second trip we had the tepanyaki experience with the chef cooking the meal at our table. Both meals were excellent. I used the gym every morning. Special thanks to Adrian and Gonzalo for opening the gym early each day so I could make it back to my room for a shower before breakfast. Our rooms were cleaned and stocked daily by several different ladies who did a wonderful job. A note of thanks to Gladys who coordinated the staff for our room cleanings. Check out was handled by Fernanda. She is very capable and polite. The computers were down when we departed. Fernanda told me they would send me an email with a copy of my folio. I had checked the bill the day before we departed and everything was perfect. Adrian, the bellman drove us to the airport when we were departing. It took two trips to get us all there. Thank you! Before we departed, I met with the director of rooms and he told me to contact him when we finalize our plans for November and February. However, the Marriott website shows the hotel is already sold-out for our November dates. So we have made reservations at the a different resort for November. Maybe will return in February of 2024. Should we not return, we have loved our 20 years of vacations at the Marriott and the staff at the Marriott will always remain dear to us.…
We spent a week at the Marriott in Puerto Vallarta. We had one margarita and one shot of tequila around 12:30 pm. At 2:30 everything went black. I remember having fun in the pool and I don’t remember anything until I woke up in my hotel room at 8:30 pm. I was told the lifeguard carried me to my room. I went with 4 other family members and they all had the similar experience of not remembering anything. We have been going to Puerto Vallarta for at least 15 years and nothing like that has ever happened before. This happened on are second day and we were so embarrassed to go to the pool because we had know idea what we had done. Everything I have read on tainted tequila was exactly what we went through. Please be careful in Mexico.
Wedding tonight, music blaring since 6 and told they have a “permit” until 11. Marriott should be ashamed of themselves, can’t Ned the money that much, or…maybe they do, better get insurance for your fixture trips, could be going under, or they have no respect for other guest or neighbors
The puerto Vallarta Marriott is currently (3/4/2023) having a wedding event at the hotel. The music IS EAR SPLITTING. The music started at 6 pm and goes until 11 pm. The music is so loud you cannot talk to another person in your hotel room. I am outraged and will never stay at another Marriott. Total disrespect for their guests.
I am a lifetime Marriott Titanium Member. My partner and I recently stayed at the Puerto Vallarta hotel in The Marina. We’ve stayed at this property a number of times. It is the only Marriott property that does not upgrade Marriott’s best and most loyal customers. In fact our room was sub par with no view. This aside, the hotel was hosting a corporate event complete with band, party, speeches and fireworks just outside our window. There was no consideration for the hotel’s other guests. The front desk staff were indifferent. On a positive note, the hotel staff elsewhere were polite and friendly. This hotel needs to treat their best clients with the same standard and courtesies as they experience in Canada, the USA, Australia, Asia and Europe. Yes, you are vacation property but you still fly the Marriott flag.…
Worst customer service ever!! Very rude staff members especially coffee shop. Ordered mexican wrap but they refused to provide me salsa and guac because they didn’t prepare. Ordered margarita pizza but only cheese and tomato and almost no basil. I asked if that pizza is tomato pizza but they are just laugh. I hate Marriott hotel and my life and i will discontinue Marriott credit cards as well. Room was dated and nasty sewer smell. All dirty stain on couch.
