We have been fans of this hotel for 20 years. Many staff are here from our first year and are great. Adrian activities director has games for you and knows everyone by name. If your a walker he will find you for the walking tour. Bartenders are the best Juan victor Rodger Luis and we challenged Alexander to come up with new drinks. His fresh fruit topped with champagne won the championship that day.
The beach boy are trying to please everyone. The new management now have decided that your 200 per night room does not deserve the same space on the beach as a rented chair from the resturant. These chairs have double the space between them and they rake the beach under those chairs. How sad to think you van stay t At the hostel next door and for 500 pesos get better space on the beach. Same pools same bathroom and they think we don't see how they teach us yearly hotel guests.
Sadly next year I will be a resturant guest sitting st the same beach for slot less money. Granddaughter. You may want to remember what made your family successful for so many year. It the way they treated their guests.

This hotel is right on the beach. Even though it is in the midst of a very active area, the rooms were quiet, insulated from outside noise. If you stay here, you have to make some tough, daily, choices. Whether to swim in the ocean or the pool, tan on the beach or on a partially submerged lounge, wait for the 1 pm to 3 pm hour hour or indulge at different times, whether to choose the breakfast buffet or the American breakfast. The rooms were spotless, the cotton towels were sumptuous (many cruise ships and pricey hotels provide very thin towels), water pressure excellent, service staff friendly as well as efficient. We could afford higher priced accommodations, but found absolutely no reason to choose differently for our next adventure in PV. Los Arcos is located at the southern end of the Malecon, close to the “Pier” were people go to watch the sundown. All the souvenirs, trinkets, T shirts, bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, farmer markets (on weekends) are an easy couple of blocks stroll. No taxi needed.

Right on the beach which is great and easy to walk around town. Got the inclusive plan and there were plenty of options in the small buffet though a bit limited for vegetarians. Some good service and some just ok as 2 workers were complaining about their jobs and saying there were too many managers which is not something guests need to hear. Babies in pull on diapers were in the main pool so that didn’t feel sanitary. It would be helpful if they were regulated to the separate kiddy pool. There is a small heated adults only pool. One bartender questioned the dollar tip for 2 soft drinks included in the inclusive plan which was rude. He questioned several times if we were satisfied while other employees laughed. In fact well drinks are included but as we don’t drink alcohol that was the only time we used the bar and felt criticized. As others have shared it’s older but humble so don’t expect a Hilton! Yes older decor and towels and tiles missing from the jacuzzi but all is clean. The rooms are cleaned well daily and there was always maintenance happening with paint touch ups and such. Beware that though there is free Wi-Fi it was extremely weak and in the dining room it was stronger to connect to Wi-Fi from the bar next door. That would be a helpful improvement to boost their Wi-Fi. It was an excellent deal so well worth it.

This well maintained lovely older hotel scores points for its amazing central location and friendly attentive staff. Our room (125) was basic but clean with a nice firm mattress. In retrospect, I would have opted for a better room with a patio or view as our room was a little dark. We added the all-inclusive package which was worth it for drinks alone but the food options were just average and the more elevated restaurants were not included. The buffet contained a lot of easy-to-make stew-like options which were too heavy for warm weather eating. The large sandy beach was great but the water was too rough to swim in the bay so we spent most of our time at the main pool. The sun skirts the edge of the building most of the day so much of the water is shaded but the temperature was great. The hotel staff needs desperately to put an end to all the chair saving. At nine AM there were towels on every chair by the pool and beach and this behavior even spread into the restaurant where people put a glass of juice on the waterfront tables and leave. We ate our entire breakfast and stared at empty saved tables. I don't know why any resort tolerates this and I wouldn't return because of it. Overall a nice place and a good value with a walk-to-everything location.

Our 10-day stay at Playa Los Arcos was unfortunately below expectations. While there were a few bright spots, several issues marred our experience.
Pros: Alejandro and Rafael provided exceptional service at the morning buffet Cleaning staff were generally good
Cons: Limited all-inclusive package Dated rooms with superficial repairs Poor shower water pressure Inconsistent housekeeping (towel restocking issues, lack of face cloths) Subpar buffet quality (2-star at best) Uncomfortable patio chairs Noise from nearby clubs Insufficient pool and beach servers The all-inclusive package was misleading, not covering all resort amenities and food menu options. Rooms desperately need updating; paint jobs seemed to cover underlying problems rather than fix them. Water pressure in the shower was inadequate.
While Alejandro and Rafael were attentive and friendly at breakfast, other staff seemed disinterested in all-inclusive guests, even with generous tipping in US dollars. They appeared more focused on walk-in customers.
The buffet was a major letdown. Limited breakfast options, over-reliance on fried foods, and poor quality (e.g., hot dogs instead of advertised sausages). Serving dishes were chipped, and juices were watered down.
More pool and beach servers are needed to improve service. The patio chairs were uncomfortable, limiting enjoyment of outdoor space. Light sleepers should bring earplugs due to noise from nearby clubs, though this is somewhat expected given the location.
After 17 visits to Puerto Vallarta, we won't be returning to Playa Los Arcos. We'll explore options in Riviera Nayarit or consider an Airbnb for future visits

We had reservations in a standard room in Playa Los Arcos that required maintenance on the air conditioning unit so the front desk cheerfully upgraded us to a Junior Suite at no extra charge after two nights. This was greatly appreciated. We were much more comfortable in the second room. Miguel was particularly efficient in assisting us in sorting out this matter and we appreciate the professionalism he demonstrated.
At breakfast each morning, Mary greeted us warmly and led us to tables with a gorgeous view. We looked forward to seeing her each day!
The concierge, Yolanda Guerrero, was fantastically helpful in providing assistance whenever we had questions or issues. She recommended an excellent coffee shop next to Hotel Rosita where we purchased beans to take home for us and for family (Cafe La Flor de Cordoba)
Yolanda Guerrero helped us book two excursions while we were in Puerto Vallarta and then helped us reschedule one of them due to my husband's brief illness. She was sympathetic and extremely efficient in changing our dates. She provided the reassurance we needed to know that we were indeed booked for "Rhythms of the Night" on an alternate evening. It was very evident that she was very experienced and really excellent at her job!

I was with a friend, our Jr. Suite was very comfortable, pillows were nice and fluffy and the towels were so soft and fluffy too. The rivaled cruise ship towels. My friend stayed on the sofa bed, which was actually a trundle bed. We were hoping it was a sofa bed, so be sure to check if it's a sofa bed or trundle. I stayed in the bedroom, the bed was very comfortable and I had a view of the pool. The pool was great, very refreshing and kept clean at all times. Staff would be cleaning out leaves a couple times a day.
The pool-side chase lounges and tables/chairs were great, but finding an empty one was a challenge. The rules state that if towels were left on chairs unattended for 45 minutes or more, the towels would be removed so others could have a chance at reserving a chair/table or chase, but for the 11 days I was there, I never saw a staff member do this. It was very frustrating finding a couple of chairs, but my friend and I were lucky enough to share a table with two other ladies.
The room itself was spotless, the furniture was very 80s and functional. We weren't in the room that much anyway, just for sleeping and changing clothes. The house cleaning staff did an excellent job keeping the room clean on a daily basis.
My friend has mobility issues and the hotel was very accommodating, has handicap ramps (a little steeper than in the U.S. but still doable), and different areas to enter the pool safely.
The restaurant attached to the hotel is great, the food and service are superb.

Our partial sea view provide perfect starts to perfect days, everyday we were in paradise. The room is bright, clean, comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect! Almost everything we wanted to go to was in walking distance and we only had to taxi/Uber out of Zona Romantica to go on snorkeling/kayaking excursions.
Our hotel room was small and really needed some improvements. On our first night, only one bedroom light was working and we had to ask the next day for someone to come fix the lights. We had a mini-fridge but wish we also had a microwave for leftovers. The last night we were there, there were heavy rains. The bathroom ceiling was leaking heavily and parts of the ceiling fell off. Housekeeping was also hit or miss as some days we got replacement towels and some days we didn't get any. I also found blood stains on my pillow/sheets and a bed bug one night (with multiple bites to prove it). The A/C was okay. We wish we knew that this was a "family-friendly" hotel and that you have to pay extra upon arrival for the all-inclusive features.
The pools were nice (chairs were hard to come by as they were ALL always reserved) and the beach is literally right there. The beach towel area is ON the beach and getting beach chairs/umbrellas are included which was nice!

We had a wonderful experience with this place! Everyone was kind and professional. The food was delicious and the ambience was on point. Rocio and Araceli were so attentive, always filling our water when we needed it and asking as if everything was OK periodically. I would definitely recommend breaking lunch or dinner here! Tons of people swim. Always in the water. Surprised you don’t see people in the water. Have to be very careful tho because there are riptides and under-tows all over the water in most all beaches. Personally we don’t go past our knees. Watch the warning flags on the beach. Many people don’t watch the flags and go in anyway. Be careful. Never turn your back on the ocean!
There are more places to choose from in the Puerto Vallarta area.
