I stayed here for an enjoyable 4 nights, it's a good hotel as close as you can get to, but not on, the beach. To one side are many beach front restaurants, to the other is the start of the long malecon/boardwalk.The staff were all friendly and helpful. If you're not going in summer, get a room with a fan...

Upon our arrival, we went to Hotel Porto Allegro where we had booked our reservation for 2/26/16 for 8 days through Hotel.com. The hotel claimed they overbooked not only us, but as I sat there waiting, 5 more couples came in ,and were sent to Gaviota Vallarta due to the excuse of being overbooked. It was a disaster alternative. Gaviota...

This hotel definitely has possibilities but is a hotel that needs to fit your specific accommodation needs. The location is perfect; just steps from the malecon and beach in old town but set back on a side street (next to the OXXO which is across from the various beach bars). It is a very basic hotel. There is a small...

We stayed in this hotel because my parents have had such a good experience on several earlier stays. Unfortunately, ours was very poor, but I think it needs some details... The hotel is very clean, with a great location. That I cannot understate. It is really close to the old-town area and very nice beaches. The individual rooms are very...

Always bargain for the cheaper price, if you sit under a palapa, lots of street vendors will come up to you and double their prices, soooo if the say $50.00 US (e.x) so say $25.00 if the say not, then act not interested and 90% of the time they'll lower their price!!!!!!!!!!!

The Hotel Gaviota Vallarta remains a good bargain and is extremely clean. The location is excellent, just 1/2 block from the Malecon extension and a good beach; 2 blocks south of the Rio Cuale in old town. Older and built in a traditional Mexican style, but well maintained. Furniture is quite dated, but clean and kind of reminds you of...

Great location, and good value if you don't mind older furnishings and slightly ratty linens. In Nov 2010, I stayed at Gaviota Vallarta for one night. I walked in and was offered a room with 2 beds and a tiny balcony for $45 (M$550). No A/C, but an effective fan and a nice breeze from the ocean, which is just...

Small pool, but great since you are not at the hotel much really at all. I really enjoyed Puerto-Vallarta very much. Beware of salespeople on the beach... don't take at first price, you can usually haggle for about less than half of the price or more...

If you wanna get ripped off, this is the hotel to stay at...literally. The taxi's and hotel staff seem to have something going because someone was able to sneak into our room and stole not only my money but my passport too! This was after the taxi driver recommended this hotel. I was stuck in Puerto Vallarta because of tehm....

Reading all of the previous reviews, even though some are older, i have a lot to disagree with. The staff here are awful! Every time I bought a Fanta the same staff person would change how much it would cost, one day 8 pesos, the next 10. i mean 2 pesos isn´t a lot, but it´s the point of it...
