Came to this place after a recommendation from a good friend and after reading all the good reviews the decision was no brainer. Since the beginning we had a bad experience, the reception was really unfriendly, then the room didn’t have soap and similar things. The only amenity at the hotel, a small pool was cold and after I asked, the service guys told me that to get it warm would take at least a day. Service people told me that hotel was bought by a new group and that since then things changed to bad... Its a shame... had great expectations...

Casa Lucila is a very nice hotel in a great location. The service is really good and the downstairs restaurant is excellent! The room was comfortable with great beds and even better a/c. Very large bathroom with lots of storage. We did experience one BIG problem. The room is situated so that one of the doors lead directly to the pool area. When we arrived the entire pool area was closed and set up for an event. The event lasted about four hours and was LOUD. We booked this hotel mostly for the use of the pool and couldn't use if for one day. The front desk (not sure if it was managers or others) didn't seem to really care and barely apologized. I do think that we would definitely stay there again but I wish we would have been notified that this large event was happening. Without this event, I would have given the hotel the top rating.

I'm reclining on my bed looking out to the ocean, breeze blowing in and the sound of waves on the rocks below. Last night, my wife and I had a glass of wine on the balcony, watching the cars parade along the Malecon in front of Old Town. And the night before, we wandered the picturesque, colorful streets, lit by up-lights spaced every few feet. This is a charming hotel in a beautiful place, very convenient to all the places you want to go in Old Town. High ceilings, beautiful finishes and great amenities. I also agree that the staff is incredibly friendly and professional: el mejor. We'll definitely be back.

A wonderful boutique hotel with the best staff made this stay our best ever in all of Mexico! The location is central/old Mazatlan, not the tourist zone. And it's not a "resort" hotel, though you can shuttle to their resort hotel about 5 miles to the north. It's an easy walk to the Zocalo and all of the old town to restaurants, stores and galleries. The staff are simply the best. They always had a warm greeting, offered helpful advice, and made us feel so welcome. For my wife's birthday, they surprised her with cake and champagne in the 3rd floor infinity pool. And another night the hotel invited and comped us at an amazing Chef's Dinner, prepared by a Michelin starred chef and paired with wines from Baja California. Decadent might begin to describe it. The restaurant itself is elegant and comfortable, a real part of the community, with outdoor seating overlooking the Malecon and the bay. Breakfast was over the top, as was another dinner. And one night when we were too tired to go out, room service was impeccable. Our room was huge, always spotless, and had a huge balcony to watch sunsets, share a meal or a drink, or to just watch the parade of people taking pictures with the motorcyle statue below. And the common areas include the restaurant, bar, courtyard and a very good lending library - all part of a totally relaxing stay. For a warm, personable, authentic experience in Mazatlan you can't beat Casa Lucila!
