This is our fourth visit to this hotel and every visit was perfect until now. We are currently here now celebrating our anniversary. I’ll list my pros and cons. Pros Room-we are in 6211 and it has a perfect view. Although a bit outdated, it is very spacious and has a comfortable bed. We have a complimentary bottle which is appreciated. Pools-lots of them and water temperature is perfect. There are very little people in the hotel and plenty of loungers to pick from. Buffet-some days it has good food. It has a good variety if you’re not staying here for more than a couple of days. Service-exceptional service from bartenders, servers and everyone but the front desk staff. Cons Room-we had to call because the AC wasn’t turning on, the mini fridge didn’t work and a noise coming from the toilet that was so loud (we thought was an alarm going off) woke us up in the middle of the night and noise continued throughout the next day. Pools-all are in dire need of an update. There are so many tiles missing and many cracks all over. Buffet-some days the food is pretty bad. We are not picky eaters and there were days we left hungry it was that bad. If you’re here for more than a couple of days, the food gets very repetitive. Restaurants-only one is open. Don’t ask me which one is open because nobody here seems to know. Depending on what staff you ask, you’ll get a different answer. Reservations start at 9am. We went to make a reservation at 920am and when we asked if there were reservations left, before giving us an answer they asked for our room number. When we told them our room number we were told there were none and that people start lining up at 8am. We are currently on our third day here, we came to get in line at 730am, it is now 845am and there’s not a single person is in line. We are calling it BS on “all reservations are taken”. Service-or lack thereof from front desk staff. Absolutely no explanation or information during check-in about restaurants being closed, reservations being limited, change of where reservations are made, etc. All in all, this visit is more of a disappointment that enjoyment. Maybe it’s time to take a break from this hotel which is at best a 2 star.…
Visiting family in Mexico, we decided to spend a weekend In Manzanillo. We had a great time. The food was great and the service even better. Apolinar was our favorite server. He always made sure we had drinks at the pool and seemed to always be ready when we needed something in the restaurant. We made a point to hang out in the pool he was working at. We highly recommend Barceló Karmina.
We fully recommend this resort. The architecture is lovely, our room was very comfortable and clean, and the layout keeps everything close and convenient. Most importantly, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating from the concierge, who assisted us with arranging a great fishing trip, to the chefs, who gladly cooked up our catch deliciously. We spent most of our time at the beautiful pools where our server, Daniel Hernandez never failed to take good care of us. He was fun and friendly and went above and beyond what was expected. He clearly enjoys his job and we found ourselves seeking him out so we were seated in his section. We will definitely visit again.
Had a great time at the resort with my family and friends, i woul totally recomen. Great food and drinks. Capri food was delcious. Activities in the pool were fun and the animation team was excelente.
It was dirty, I found cockroaches on the bed, was no towels, on the coffee area was hair from previous guests i let them know but no body cares about it , not even an apology from no body, when I reported they just say . Thank you for letting us know
from the beginning booking was terrible charged twice deposit and the week we were due to arrive the money had still not been returned. our room was to have 2 queen beds instead we had 1 bed 1 sofa bed, sofa bed had a very thin pad you can feel the bed frame right through. the plumbing was terrible no cold water when reported maintenance said it seems ok now but i explained the cold water pressure would come and go. fridge amenities was 1 small bag of chips 1 small bag of nuts when we asked for more they told us we were not premium and thats all we could have. upon check out we asked for help they said bell service for our room was after 9 am. then when we asked for the car ourselves they said oh a bell hop just showed up. when we looked outside we noticed they were servicing the premium rooms. so again we were treated less than since our two rooms were not premium. we also have a vegan guest with us and they were told veggies were available at buffet but the veggies had butter beans had cheese. so there were very few options.…
Our stay was excellent! The clean Room, beautiful resort location, and hotel services were great. But it was your staff like Daniel Hernandez at poolside services , Victor and Rafael at dining services who made our stay most memorable. They provided an amazing level of service all week, and are a big credit to your Resort. Folks like Daniel Hernandez, Victor, and Rafael are the reason we will come back again- And we will. We so enjoyed our stay at Barcela this week. Everything was top notch. We can’t say enough good things about the service we received especially from Daniel Hernandez. He went above and beyond the call of duty to service everyone and he has such an infectious personality. He is truly an asset to this hotel!
This place is beautiful!!! The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the food is great! I will definitely be back. I am so glad we booked here. We spent most of our time at the resort but when we wanted to get a different view of Manzanillo we took a quick and inexpensive cab ride to a different beach. Everything was perfect.
My wife and I love to stay here. Everything is top notch and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Only one thing I would like to mention is that it states you can use PayPal to pay for the room. It does not state anywhere that means only the first initial partial payment to hold the room. I was under the impression they would charge the rest to my PayPal account upon arrival and this was not the case. That was unexpected and a big surprise for me. That is my only complaint about this hotel. Everything else is wonderful. We will always continue to stay here in the future and return about 2-3 times a year but just wanted to let others know about this issue using PayPal that was not stated anywhere.
