Great hotel in centre of Acapulco. Friendly staff. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Cost effective. Room has big balcony with great views. The hotel is beach side which is very convenient. Across road is a mini market. Best sunrise views from balcony
First time in Acapulco, my friend and I visited this hotel at the end of February 2022 to escape the cold of Seattle. We had a room at the upper level of the hotel w beach/pool views. Simply walking into the room turned vacation mode on. The hotel was nice overall, various pools, beach access w lots of activities (paddle board, jet ski etc), bars all around. There were a lot of families, fortunately some of the pools were adult access only. On day 3 we wanted to explore the city and by sheer luck booked Sebastian (google ACAPULCO FOR ALL BY SEBASTIAN HERNANDEZ). He took us for an amazing and efficient tour through the city, took a lot of pictures for us (which he forwarded later). When we told him, we'd like to do a boat tour, Sebastian set us up within a day, for one of the most memorable experiences. TLDR: would stay again, highly recommend Sebastian especially for English speaking visitors…
Just coming back from a one month vacation at the Emporio Hotel in Acapulco. I had been at that hotel in previous years and was looking forward for this holiday. The package was purchase from Sunwing vacation as an all-inclusive for myself and a companion for about 9000$C. It included a stay in a Privilege Room and a roundtrip private transportation from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is situated in a very nice area, with magnificent surrounding in the back and close to the beach. Every room has a beautiful ocean view. In front of the hotel, across a very busy highway, there is a Shopping Centre. When we arrive at the front desk for check-in after waiting for about half an hour before seeing a receptionist, we were informed that our package was only a semi-inclusive and that we were not allowed beer or soft drinks in cans, it would have to be from the fountain. The 2 dinners a week in the Sunset Room, an a-la-carte restaurant, had been cancelled because that restaurant does not belong to the hotel anymore. No member of the staff knew where the afternoon cocktail and the continental breakfast in a special lounge, as promised in the Sunwing advertisement, where being held. We were informed that we were not allowed fish and sea food even if it was on the menu. Worst of all, they wanted $1000C for 28 days of usage of the cabanas and chairs at the beach. I went to complain to the Sunwing rep. at the hotel but was told that the management had changed and that everyone was having problems getting what they paid for. He arranged for a meeting with Mr. Oscar Naval, a worker at the front desk, who was a very nice fellow but seems to have no authority to do anything. After arguing with him, we were told that we could have the cocktail in our room, delivered by room service. This arrangement was completely unsatisfactory because the purpose of an afternoon cocktail is to meet and get to know other travellers. The Sunwing rep. than offer us to change hotel but maybe with a fee. At that point, I contacted Sunwing directly and was told that they would look into my complain. I was ready to go to the Better Business Bureau in Toronto to ask them to investigate because I felt I had been victim of a scam. The next day, I was informed by a fellow traveller that she had succeeded in getting the cabanas at the beach for free like it had always been in my other vacations. A day later, I received an e-mail from Sunwing saying that they had communicated with the hotel and that we were now being offered everything we had paid for like every item on the menu and even more like room service. Of course, I accepted and the next three weeks were marvellous just as I had expected. I would recommend to all travellers to the Emporio to have a copy of the contract with Sunwing and be ready to fight for what they have paid for. Never buy a semi-inclusive package, make sure it is all-inclusive or go somewhere else. Do not pay any surplus for a privilege room. It is not worth it unless you like to wait for at least 10 minutes for warm water in the shower and fight with the pigeons who have invaded the 14th floor and love to poop everywhere in front of the elevators that works most of the time. The sofa in the room is a piece of patio furniture that is very low on the floor. This hotel is a marvellous place for a vacation and most of the staff are very helpful, especially Manuel, Carmen, Carlos and Rodolpho. Many of the waiting staff in the restaurants should receive more training. Very few can communicate in English. One of the captain in the evening name Pablo was an excellent waiter and also an excellent communicator that made all the customers feel at ease. There seems to be a serious lack of communications between management and staff. However, if you can get what you have been sold, it can be a wonderful and restful holiday in Acapulco.…
We stayed at Emporio Hotel in Acapulco in January 2023. We have no words to express how happy and satisfied we are for having choosen this hotel among the many in Acapulco. This hotel is family oriented which makes the stay very vibrant and comfortable. All rooms face the ocean. We can still hear the ocean waves like in a dream. The accommodation and the staff were first class service. We had several meals at the La Isla restaurant next to the pool. We were very lucky to have Yeretzade (a.k.a as Yere among his co-workers) assisting us at the restaurant. Her attitude, professionalism, and charismatic personality made us feel very comfortable and relax. By chatting with her, we learned an amazing and extraordinary fact. She, being only 27 years old, dedicates her spare time and earnings helping street cats and dogs (in Mexico you can find many of them in the streets). That's how she spends her earnings. What an honorable way to spend your money young lady! If you go to this restaurant ask for “Yere.” At night, we had several dinners at Sunset Restaurant were we again find an excellent service and delicious food. If you happen to choose this beautiful hotel, I can guaranty you that you will never regret it.…
this was a unique experience. The sunset is beautiful while you appreciate the beach. you can enjoy the incredible food of the coast, as well as enjoy the landscape. This tourist area is very pleasant, it should be noted that there are many people since the climate favors and encourages you to immerse yourself in the sea.... the food, like the hotel service, is good.
I have been coming to Emporio for the last 12 years. And it has never disappointed me. The location is the best, and its staff is excellent. Zacarías treats us like family, the manager Luis Cordova, excellent treatment.everyone is great!! Salvador, Pool área, Karla at the spa!! We will be coming back for many more years to come.
I very rarely write a review but felt like I needed to with this hotel. This hotel has nice rooms and pool areas and good location on the beach, but would not recommend for couples or single or business travelers. At least 80% of the guests were families. The hotel has some really frustrating things that make the stay a lot less enjoyable than it should be. 1. Check-in - waited 20 mins to check-in even though we were the 1st people in the Queue and there were only 1 other couple checking in . There seemed to be 3 staff moving between the front counter and back office but no one made eye contact or acknowledged you. I felt a bit invisible. Not a nice first impression. 2. Breakfast. Chaotic. Included in the room rate and its a buffet. Arrived 0930 and waited 30 mins to get in as it was so busy. Had to linger around the entrance and wait to your name was shouted out to go in. The staff at the entrance were nice and cope well under the pressure of all the hungry guests waiting to get in. There is other staff standing around by the entrance and reception area - but just observing and not actually doing anything to make the guest experience any better - strange. In the breakfast restaurant it will full of families and kids. Really noisy and cramped and to make it even more noise there is music playing and TV's on the wall. What should be a nice relaxing breakfast is a stressful experience. There is a queue for each buffet station. We never had the cooked breakfast as the queue was too long to wait for. Got out of bed 90 mins earlier to avoid have the same breakfast experience again the next day (0800). The breakfast restaurant is way too small to cope with the amount of guests - I presume this is a daily experience. The space needs to be expanded. 3. Pool areas. There is a family pool where people save beds very early in the morning - you will need be to be up early to get a sunbed here. The adult pool is really nice however 3 annoying things which make relaxing by the pool a really un-relaxing experience. Music - high energy music blasting out of a low-quality crackly low-quality speaker which sounded terrible. It was obvious no one was enjoying the music and does not create a chilled relaxing vibe. I can't understand why the hotel management cannot see this? The sun loungers away from the pools and on the grass are all fixed upright with wooden blocks so you cannot lay them flat. I have never seen this in any hotel worldwide - I cant understand why a hotel would do that unless its to make them look better in photography? It is certainly not in the best interests of the guests. There was a waiter that would take drinks orders for you but he never approached us or made eye contact in the 2 days we were there. It seems like to you have get his attention or approach him when you see him. There was only 1 barman working hard at the pool bar and always people waiting to order - so didn't bother as it seems like it was going to be a long wait. Other staff were walking around but not sure what they were actually doing. The hotel could vastly increase beverage revenue if there was extra staff taking arders around the poll and extra barmen to make the drinks. 4. Beach. The beach is 100% public so there are no free hotel sunbeds on the beach. There are fundamental service issues at this hotel that the management are avoiding or not addressing. I didn't really feel too welcome here. its a real shame as its its a nice hotel and could easily be a lot better.…
Front Desk Help was horrible. The check in process took forever even though RCI assured me they had sent over my information. The check in staff was not friendly or accommodating, there was no sense of service. However the rest of the staff won me over, the bell boy, the waiters at the main restaurant and the pool were amazing. The Spa was also a delightful experience, their staff was attentive, friendly and extremely professional. There was some noise on weekends coming from the parties held at the beach since we had a view from our balcony. Lots of events at the beach during the weekend. But overall the access to the beach was clean and clear. Felt completely safe and taken care of regarding COVID procedures.
The location is great, right on the beach with a nice pool. And staff is friendly. Unfortunately too many negatives. Room has 1 outlet, if you want to charge more then one phone, you have to bring your own strip. The light on the balcony was out and couldn’t get it fixed. The website says they do Covid-19 testing on-site, they don’t. Tried to ask about it, they tried to send me somewhere for 4,000 pesos. Two doors down is a clinic that does it in 30 minutes for 450 pesos. Also, no one on staff speaks any English, makes it difficult when there is a problem. Had to rely on phone translator. So while the location is nice, it is 3 star at best. Many nicer options available
Excelente service and attention from Luis Moyado, waiter at the adult pool area. Overall good visit but the rest of the waiter staff should aspire to a better treatment. Rooms should be modernized. Good hotel.
