The rooms were ok, adult pool was nice, restaurant was ok. Nothing really wowed me, but the weather made up for everything - gorgeous every day. Great ocean front rooms. The most disappointing thing was the service. I am Spanish (Canadian), with a slight accent, I have been to Ixtapa, Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cuba, etc. and have Never had a problem making myself understood. Staff seemed deliberately dense. An example is I was at the pool and went to my room to use the bathroom - the maid was in front of my room with the door open. I said oh, please go ahead and clean my room and I left. Came back 3 hours later to a dirty room. She came back around 5 wanting to clean which we declined. Nobody seemed to recognize the all inclusive bracelets, wanting to charge you - one person saying the pool bar was included, another telling me not included. Scared to try anything as I didn't want to be charged. Just put a damper on the trip. On a bright note, Luis at the adult pool was phenomenal. Friendly and efficient. Funny he was able to understand me...…
I had a great stay at Hotel Emporio in Aca this past week. The location is fantastic - right in the heat of Acapulco Diana district with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel offers plenty of amenities - fitness room , an adult pool and family pool with a swim up bar, a few different restaurants, beach access with palapas. The rooms all offer an amazing view of the bay and air conditioning. What I appreciate the most about the hotel is the staff and how friendly they are. Most of them speak some English and do their best to accompany my efforts at speaking Spanish. Special shout out to Olimpia from customer service express line - she was very helpful and friendly and offered some great assistance while I was there.
Location is #1, rooms are OK. Good size nothing special. Staff speaks little English which makes it hard to communicate there. Yet I felt they wanted to help even if they could not understand what I was saying. I did not eat there as I like to eat at other places where its busy. Getting around is easy. I found a taxi (Pedro) who became my main guy. He was available to my every need. He was very reliable. Shopping, restaurants and casino all withing a block or two. Busy area, busy hotel as many Mexico City residents stay there on vacation. Would I stay there again, yes. PS - Get your exchange at a local bank or before you go the hotel only allows you to exchange $100 a day.
it was very clean, centric in the shore of acapulco, close from the downtown, nice and clean beach with a lot of guys selling you things buts thats normal in the puclic beaches, good atention from desk peaople to the waiters and the cleaning people, cool weather in the hotel and the rooms, well, good prices,
I gave 2* only because of room, food and location. Service spoiled everything. 1. You can't get coffee in the restaurant in the morning. They don't have waiters?! 2. When I got in I there wasn't a safe box! It took me some "hard talk" to make them to get a safe box in the room. First they didn't believe me that it wasn't there! Air Conditioning didn't work at all. Took me 30 min to get it fixed (again "hard talk") 3.Hotel doesn't have it's own beach. They charge you around $10 for a place with umbrella on the beach (you can have a dinner then on those fee. So, it's like paying for dinner and having a place on the beach). Frankly speaking I didn't want to stay on the beach at all. It's a terrible pass to an ocean (too deep just after you step in the water). Whole beach is full of locals who are drunk, play, eat, have parties and listen very loud music. It's OK if you want party but not if you want to relax on the ocean. There are a lot of kids on the beach, etc. I don't know about the situation during business days but on weekend it was a terrible place to stay if you want a quiet place to stay. 3.I wanted to bring a visitor to my room. They didn't let her go and asked me to pay $20 to let her go in my room. I told them that she's not going to stay with me whole night and she's there only for a couple of hours and then she leaves. I told them that I already paid for my room and I wasn't going to pay anymore if nobody is going to stay with me overnight. I had a "hard talk" again. They understood finally that I'm not so stupid to pay bribery to them (managers read about your personal if you care!) and asked my visitor to show them id (that was finally the legitimate action) and if she showed it they would let her go. 4. I asked at a bar to open a bottle of wine I bought. There were 3 bartenders doing nothing and they were reluctant to open a bottle. Lazy staff. Again, I had to push them to do what hotel's customer asked them to do. That hotel definitely has problems with its staff and management. There are too much security and staff doing nothing but they can't open a bottle of wine at bar and bring you coffee in the morning. It's a shame! For the price I paid for the room and the stars they claim to have the service was terrible. I don't recommend that place.…
