Sadly, due to Covid, we cannot visit. It would have been our 4th year in a row. 2 years ago we brought our adult boys and their girlfriends. Our youngest son proposed to his now wife on the beautiful beach. Love this beach! Love the drinks, food. Ya, the furniture in the rooms is dated, but the rooms are clean, big and the beds are super comfy. Most staff are the best we have encountered, and we are well travelled. Some even remembered us from previous years, which was nice. I got sick last year and Isabel made sure I was made chicken soup for lunch which fixed me right up. Abel and Isabel, at the beach restaurant, which has GREAT food, are the nicest people. Not just great staff, great people. We love this place and can't wait to go back. But...there are two old men who are servers around the pools that should not be working with public. Give them positions where they are not dealing with public. In all three visits to this hotel they have avoided serving us like the plague. We tip, we are polite, but we aren't fluid in Spanish, which seems to be their problem. Last year I had eczema on my feet so bad I barely walked for about a year. I really needed the service. They didn't care. They saw me struggle to walk to get a drink, but clearly did not care. We could never figure out why they hated us so much. We could see them serving others over and over again, why not us. Until last year. We met a guy that could speak and understand spanish. Sounded like he was fluent to me, but according to one of those old guys it still wasn't good enough. He told us that he spoke with one of those guys and he told him that people who come there should be able to speak spanish fluently if they want to come to Mexico because he has to know english and that this guys broken spanish still was not good enough for him to want to serve him. I had figured that all along but to hear that he actually told a guest this was astonishing. I try to do my best to speak spanish. I panic when I try and end up speaking spanish worse. I have been to Vietnam, the Philippines, China. I try to learn my please and thank yous in those languages, but I cannot speak fluently in any language but English. We will come back, but those two old men are really the only negative. We ended up getting Gabriella and she went over and above. She was great. Something needs to be done about those two. I was so mad last year that I said to my husband, that's it, we are staying at Dreams next time. But we love the Princess...especially the beach and the food. We'll give it another chance, but I hope we are not made to feel so bad. (Drop down only gave me a choice going back as far as feb 2020, be we were actually there in january??)…
I really like this place! Pool side service is horrible! It would be nice to get a cold fresh drink at the pool! I am sure the hotel does not mind me spending money here! Rooms are correct and the beach is fabulous. Great place to relax as a couple or as a family
Starting with the people in reception, restaurants and other areas, they are very friendly for the most part. Now, regarding the place, the location and view in the rooms are very good, however, the rooms are not quiet, they need maintenance and the mattress is not very comfortable. Something that I did not like is that now they charge you $500 pesos to occupy the chairs on the beach and although they deduct them from the consumption account, I think they should not make any charge for this, in addition to that now there are chairs that the locals put in front of the ones from hotel, blocking the ocean view. There are better options for less money.
The view from our room was gorgeous! It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. The beds were extremely firm, which is not great for me but maybe other people would not care. Not a lot of the hotel staff spoke English, but we were there with local friends who were able to communicate. It would have been nice if the hotel had done something to make our anniversary more special, like leaving a note in our room or maybe some champagne or something.
We came here to celebrate my birthday with my daughter and my mom.... From day 1, nobody offered my mom help cause she couldn’t walk very well, the room is OK, but they don’t even sanitize it. I found everyday hair in the shower and little ants. If they sanitize the rooms, that never happens. They don’t even clean them well. Don’t even make me talk about the food, the most hideous and disgusting food I’ve ever tried. Extremely expensive and disgusting. My mom got sick for 2 days in bed throwing up and diarrea and nobody would help. They just offered us like a little dessert to make it up. My hunch is that they took out all the food that they had in storage when they had to close due to covid because everything I tried tasted seriously really bad. And I’m not being harsh, my mom’s a chef. The most weird experience I’ve ever lived. I guess those are the perks of traveling in covid times. But I really wanted to spend a cool birthday and pamper my kid after being 7 months confined in her house. Real bummer! Not at all what this hotel was when Fairmont was the owner. So sad…
