We loved this hotel. We got a suite with a kitchen, and it was great. A good sized fridge for all our drinks and breakfast supplies, a proper stove and a microwave. We tried their breakfast buffet on the first morning, and it was delicious, but very expensive. So we justified the price of the room upgrade by getting basic breakfast supplies and eating in our room. Their pool is marvellous. The perfect temperature for our preschooler to stay in for hours on end, and fun for her to explore with hidden waterfalls, and platforms with fountains for her to experiment with and jump off. The waves on the beach were too high for swimming, especially with a preschooler, but we enjoyed sitting in the shade and making sandcastles. The nachos, fries and hotdogs were excellent poolside fare. The hotdog was wrapped in bacon, yum! Not very Mexican, but delicious. The pizza was just okay. The drinks were really nice, but a bit expensive unless you had the drink of the day (two for one) or waited for happy hour.

We have been staying at the Fiesta Americana each year for nearly 30 years. Until our retirement a few years ago, we could only stay a week or two. Since then, however, we have spent 5 or 6 weeks each winter. Each time we leave, we can’t wait to return. We have been coming back year after year because the Fiesta Americana is the perfect hotel for us. When we have brought friends, they also have had a great time. The views are spectacular because the hotel is located in the middle of the bay. Every room has a great view of the bay. Because the pool is set on a cliff, the view from there is unmatched. We love being able to walk or take a short bus or taxi ride to appreciate all that Acapulco has to offer. We enjoy being in the middle of things, rather than being sequestered, as you are in the hotels in the Diamante area. It is great to be among Mexican, American, and Canadian tourists, as well as people who make Acapulco their home. What also keeps bringing us back to the Fiesta Americana are the wonderful, dedicated staff at all levels. Some have become like family to us. This year we particularly appreciated the protocols put in place to deal with Covid. In fact, we felt much safer in Acapulco than we did in the public spaces back home in Michigan. We look forward to returning to our beloved Acapulco and the Fiesta Americana each winter.

As many have said, wonderful staff; however, the Front Desk is this hotel's achilles heel. I was to arrive last Friday but I missed my connection due to weather. It took multiple telephone calls, emails and messages to make this hotel understand that I would arrive one day later and to please pre-register me so as not to lose my reservation and allow me an early check-in. This should have been much simpler and taken only five minutes instead of the hour I spent. I arrived on Saturday morning and was told they did not have my reservation which I prepaid in full. It took approximately 30 minutes to clear this up and finally get my key. The desk agent was ambivalent at best and needed assistance from a colleague to assist me. He was either poorly trained or didn't care. My two room suite was neat and clean and I was very well taken care of by Alejandra, who cleaned my room for the six nights I was there, She was kind, and cheery and made sure I had everything I needed. She made up for the terrible desk experience. Concierges were helpful as were the waitstaff in the restaurants. Food in the two venues that were open was reliably good. I did email the manager before my stay, twice. Both emails went unanswered, disappointing, if he was too busy to answer he was unable to delegate the task. Location of hotel was in the midst of bustling beachside Acapulco which is what we wanted. The hotel is advertised correctly, I'd give it 3.5 stars and the price is right. I enjoyed Tio Alex and El Zorrito two nearby Mexican restaurants. This is predominantly a Mexican vacation club/time share, so you will see few foreigners. I think my friend who had a suite on the fourth floor were the only Americans in the entire hotel. This was fine by me; however, if your Spanish is not good, this could be a problem. My fiend speaks no Spanish and he ran into only one employee (Concierge) who was fluent in English. Acapulco is a safe, and beautiful place, my new favorite location in Mexico, and I already look forward to returning. Would I stay here again, yes; however, I wish Management would take the time to retrain the Front Desk, and so that their guests feel welcomed and appreciated.

***I will start off by saying that I completely forgot to take any photos of the room.*** We had an amazing week at the Acapulco Villas. We were originally supposed to arrive on a Tuesday around 5:30pm. Due to flight delay on Volaris – read separate review – we did not arrive to the hotel until about 6:00am on a Wednesday morning. I called and spoked to someone at the hotel on Tuesday evening and explained our situation. Because I had the room reserved from Tuesday to Tuesday, we were able to get our room as soon as we arrived at 6:00am. This gave us – family of 6 – the opportunity to all take a quick shower and get some more ZZZs. I was impressed, we were all able to sleep until about 10:30. The blackout curtains definitely helped with this. We were on floor 3, rooms 320 and 322. Had I been there on time to check in the night before I would have certainly requested a higher floor and one farther away from the street. Many reviews mention the loud music from the discos. Yes – you hear the boom, boom, boom starting at about 9:00pm. I even heard it one morning about 5:15. It did not stop me from sleeping and it never woke up any of our kiddos. My wife did have a hard time falling asleep a couple nights, so we turned the TV on to help drown out some of the noise. Once she fell asleep, she was not woken up by it. If you are very sensitive to noise while sleeping, I would recommend bringing ear plugs. If you are one who must have the newest, flashiest, nicest properties then this one is not for you. However, if you like amazing people, a fun relaxing atmosphere, and proximity to the beach this is the place for you. There was a sign that the property just celebrated its 50th anniversary last summer (2021). Yes, it is dated, it sometimes showed. Although the property is dated it is very clean. Everywhere we were we always saw staff cleaning. We were room 320 – 1 bedroom, and 322 – studio lock-off. We had plenty of space for our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids ages 10, 9, 8 and 4). The master bedroom had a king bed, the living room had a pull-out sofa, and the 2nd bedroom had two full size beds. Master bathroom included a shower/ jacuzzi bathtub combo. The kitchen left a little to be desired, but it worked. Refrigerator, small 4-burner stove, and all pots, pans, plates and utensils that you would need. My two older boys and I did a quick trip the MEGA – one of the big grocery store chains. It was similar to a Walmart. It was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Prices are comparable to the US. First night I made some pasta with meat sauce. This has kind of become a tradition whenever we got to our place while traveling. After that most of our meals were eaten either at Maima – restaurant by the pool – or a restaurant somewhere in Acapulco. Emmanuel and Isabel at the pool were excellent servers and made sure we were always taken care of. Prices at Maima were quite reasonable and it was very easy to order poolside or go and sit at a table in the restaurant. At 6:00 the Maima restaurant changes their menu to a more expensive dinner menu. Some of the same things that can be purchased prior to 6:00pm were almost 100 pesos more on the dinner menu. Kids Club Carolina and Marian, Kids Club workers are AMAZING! They were so nice and so genuinely excited to see our kids each day. This service was free, and kids can even get lunch there daily. It is available for kids 5-12. Daily lunch requires letting them know that your kids will be there for lunch. You must let them know by 11:00am for lunch at 1:00pm. When we were there they closed each day from 12:30-1:00 to disinfect the club. Our kids did not do lunch there, only because the timing never quite worked out. Our oldest who is 10 said that he did not quite like the kid’s club because it was “too young” for him. Our other 3 liked it. Pool The pool was amazing. The water was the perfect temperature and it never felt too crowded. There were many activities from water aerobics, Lotteria, Jenga and Ping Pong tournaments, guess the marbles, all around fun. We were able to snag a cabana all but one day. Jose was one of the main activity people at the pool. He had a lot of energy and made the atmosphere fun. Beach The hotel has palapas on the beach that are reserved for hotel guests. The beach was very clean. There is a small restaurant next to the hotels palapas that have good drinks and good prices. The food that people were ordering looked great as well but we never ordered any. The surf was high for a several days when we got there. Luckily our kids are all strong swimmers and were able to enjoy the waves. The last day we were there was the best beach day. Waves were calm and the water was clear. We did rent jet skis on the beach one day. It was 800 pesos for a half our per jet ski. There are occasional people who come by to sell you something or offer a massage. A simple no gracias usually kept them on their way. Security There are several security guards placed around the hotel. We were greeted by Arturo each morning when we arrived at the pool. The security guards at the beach were always sure to let us know about the surf and to make sure the kids were safe in the water. Spa Because there was a kids club that could watch the littles my wife and I booked massages. The prices are very reasonable compared to what we pay at home. We each selected an 80-minute massage and were able to be in a couple’s room. There was a special going on at the time and my wife received a free full body coffee exfoliation and I had a full body cacao scrub. Never done that before, it was interesting. After the scrubs we went to the locker rooms to shower all the coffee and cacao off, then came back to the room for the massages. In total we were in the spa for about 2 hours. The massages were excellent, and we will certainly do them again when we return. Housekeeping Our room was cleaned daily. Each day our housekeeper left new bottles of water for us, refreshed towels, made the beds, etc. She also organized our shoes for us each day. I left anywhere from 50 to 100 pesos for her daily. One of the days we had to run up to the room and had a chance to meet her. She was very nice. Safety When I would tell friends that we were heading to Acapulco they would look at me like I was crazy. Some would make comments about how unsafe it is and ask “Are you nervous about taking your kids?” There was never a moment – at the hotel or out in public – that I felt unsafe. We even walked a mile and a half down the road to visit Parque Papagayo. All the people that we met in markets, restaurants, the hotel, etc. were so nice and welcoming. Overall we will stay at this property again. I have rated this property 4/5 only because of the loud music. If I could give 4.5/5 I would, but TripAdvisor does not allow halves.

Have had many people say stay away form Acapulco as not safe. We found our stay to be safe. The three bed room units are awesome...larger than any we have stayed in. There were games for the children and adults as well and the pool was nice and warm. Be sure to make your reservations for transportation from the airport before arrival to save money. There are many street restaurants that we enjoyed near by. We found Acapulco far less expensive than Cancun and will definitely return.

We have been coming to this hotel almost yearly for 15+ years, each year I see more improvement even when they were already amazing! It is like coming home to family, from the manager to front desk to housekeeping to bar to pool staff, everyone there is friendly and accomodating. The rooms are meticulous, the view is literally indescribable and location in mide of Golden Zone cannot be beat. I literally won't consider staying anywhere else ❤

I would give this FA a "1" given the suck factor, but the staff and the room cleaning were awesome, and the food was okay, but the room location was HORRIBLE!!! If you stay there, DO NOT accept a room with the last two digits of 10 through 26 on any floor or you too will not sleep given the constant "BOOM, BOOM" of the night club next door echoing in your head until at least midnight!!!

We are BlueGreen owners and did an RCI Exchange at Fiesta Americana in Acapulco. We experienced no problems with the room (really nice JR suite) Acapulco is much safer than before. There is a small military presence that made us feel very safe on the street. The discotheque across the street is annoying when trying to sleep, so had to turn the air conditioning up full blast to drown out the boom-boom of the ‘music’. Overall, the resort was excellent and we would come back in a heartbeat, but might request a room on the North side, away from the music.
