We have stayed here before, several years ago; don't recall if we did a report then. The hotel is located on the edge of the Monterrey Tec (ITESM) campus, with several bars and restaurants nearby, so convenient (especially if you're visiting the Tec, as we were. Follows the Fiesta Inn template, even down to the soap and shampoo (which is not a criticism). Staff on reception efficient and helpful, waiters, though perfectly friendly, seem to be at 6's and 7's. Reasonable breakfast and menu (not, of course, cordon bleu), but restaurant is quite small and basic (note that there are plenty of local options if you want something or somewhere a bit more interesting). Rooms pleasant, with impressive views, all facilities (wi-fi, etc) work ok. One big plus (in my view): 'canal de nado', i.e., outdoor swimming pool designed for swimming lengths (i.e., long and narrow) - so, no diving boards, no kids. Also, no heating; so, in March, quite chilly, very different from some heated Mexican pools which are like warm baths. Hence, little used (a plus). So, altogether very comfortable and convenient for Tec and vicinity.

This is the third year that I've visited this hotel. The reason why is because my 9 yr old nephew loves it, not because it is my choice. I rated this hotel with 2 stars. It lacks of maintenance and management. The pool needs a lot of work and repairs, I did write this comment 2 years ago and did not see any improvements on this visit. The gym needs new equipment, the workout machine that they have is very old and hard to use. I opted to pay 150 pesos daily to use the gym located in the shopping center. Everything was very good. I really liked their breakfast buffet, being from the city I didn't expect the quality of the food and the options. The room was worth it for the considerable space although not the best compared to other hotels. Their staff is VERY friendly. The guy at the bar, whose name I unfortunately didn't see, but I remember he's from Tabasco, was very good and closed this experience for us with some good drinks while we waited to go to the airport.
