#4 of 10 hotels in Todos Santos
Travelers' Choice
Named in honor of St. Christopher, patron of travelers, surfers, sailors and protector during long journeys, Hotel San Cristobal Punta Lobos sits on the beach on the southwestern edge of the Baja peninsula in Todos Santos, Mexico. Positioned along the Tropic of Cancer and framed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, Punta Lobos, and the Pacific Ocean, there is something about the quality of light. Please note: the hotel allows children over the age of 12.

My husband and I are avid travelers. We have been to this establishment in the past and patronized hundreds of dollars. New ownership wouldn’t allow us to patronize. We were not welcome. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Very rude and Un inviting. They do not value you or your money. Take it elsewhere.

Dear alysamounce Thank you for your reply and sorry to hear about your experience with us. We have had a change of ownership as well as management and during this process some rules have changed and may have not been communicated well by us. I would like to invite you to return at any time and give us the opportunity to let you have a first hand look at our improved communication skills and set up for external guests. Do not hesitate to ask for me when visiting next. Best regards Thomas

Having lived full-time in Los Cabos, MX for the past nine years it can be difficult to find a place that is worthy of leaving home for. My wife and I had a baby in June 2020 and this was the first night that we would be without him, adding to our doubts. After spending a remarkable 24 hours at Hotel San Cristobal I can safely say that the property delighted us and exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out we enjoyed the barefoot luxury of the property. This was a mid-week overnight, next time will be for much longer and there will definitely be a next time. Both dinner and breakfast at Benno were spectacular and the little touches like the welcome coconut muffins and the fabulous robes made for a very memorable experience.

The rooms are simple yet beautiful, but provide all you need when on a relaxing trip in Mexico. The aesthetic of the hotel is wonderful and the details in the room, from the bath robes to the bedding, feel authentic. We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon. During our stay we ate at the on site restaurant (benna) once per day and every meal was delicious. Besides the great room and breathtaking views of the ocean/mountains, the entire staff really makes the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Everyone is happy to help and do all they can to ensure we were taken care of. They made several restaurant recommendations and reservations for us when requested. While lounging by the pool they frequently checked in to ask if we needed anything. Everyone was so polite and friendly and we felt like more than 'just another guest' by the end of the short stay. Highly recommended, we can't wait to come back!

I had not visited Mexico in many, many years and was a little anxious about going to a hotel that is slightly off the beaten path. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The property was beautifully appointed, the bilingual staff was attentive, and my room was casually elegant. I would like to give a shout out to the front desk manager/concierge Arturo. He put me at ease at check in, escorted me to my room, and explained all the amenities. He checked in with me during my stay to make sure all was going well. I was very appreciative of his professional yet friendly demeanor. I highly recommend and will return in the future.

The hotel has a spectacular location ... right up against the Pacific and nestled next to Punta Lobos, a large/high rock outcropping that serves as the backdrop to numerous species of birds and fishing boats called "pangas". Someone had an excellent eye in picking this location. The property is well-maintained and the size lends itself to your not feeling crowded. The rooms are sensibly spartan, but everything you need is there. The bed was awesome. The sheets and towels first rate. Before going farther, we will most likely return. We were truly relaxed and enjoyed a wonderful staff and view. Our hesitancy is the food. The on-site restaurant, Benno, was a huge disappointment ... at least for dinner. We had one meal there and then the old adage kicked-in ... one time shame on you, two times shame on me. One of us ordered the ribeye. By volume, two-thirds of the cut us not edible ... unless you like fat and gristle. The other ordered dish was chicken mole. It was largely a wing and leg bone of a very small bird and bone dry. We both left the table hungry. We subsequently ate at the bar restaurant and, the last night, in our own room with food we'd brought. Not how we envisioned our birthday and anniversary celebration. The ownership/management should move past the COVID issues and improve the quality of the food. Sitting out there at the end of a road, guests have little to no choice. Enlarging the menu would also be helpful for multi-day guests ... as well as having a couple of new items every few days.
