Named in honor of St. Christopher, patron of travelers, surfers, sailors and protector during long journeys, Hotel San Cristobal Punta Lobos sits on the beach on the southwestern edge of the Baja peninsula in Todos Santos, Mexico. Positioned along the Tropic of Cancer and framed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, Punta Lobos, and the Pacific Ocean, there is something about the quality of light. Please note: the hotel allows children over the age of 12.

First it was suggested we use TS Private Transportation from Cabo to the hotel. Be prepared to pay USD200.00 one way plus you can add on an ice chest for beer and water for an extra 45.00. Secondly the property is beautiful and they think of every comfort for you; nice deep couches with good pillows. Blankets for cooler nights. They were always checking on us and making sure fires were going. We were there for a family wedding so we had the entire hotel rented out for this event. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was fantastic. If you host a wedding there be sure to inquire about having an after party at the ruins. Wow. What a way to end a wedding. The hotel went above and beyond to make a one of kind wedding for the happy couple. Water pressure in the shower was so nice. Big walk in shower. High-end bath products; hair dryer; NO TV’s in rooms but we weren’t there to watch tv. The only fly in the ointment was their concierge services. Left emails with them prior to us arriving about a couple of things and they do not respond, so you’re better off trying to call them. They do have a shuttle service but is used more for shuttling guests to/from Todos.

My husband and I recently returned from a short (but amazing) stay at the Hotel San Cristobal. I really can not say enough good things about the hotel and the staff. We were here to celebrate my 50th birthday. We didn't book the trip until a few weeks before and I didn't have much time to research so I really didn't know what to expect. It's about a 1 hour + 10 minute drive from the Cabo San Lucas airport which seemed like a long drive but a) it's a beautiful and easy drive and b) the fact that it's far from Cabo in a beautiful and quiet part of Baja is part of what makes this place so special. And as soon as we arrived, I knew this was the perfect location! It is a beautiful property set WAY back off the road (you can't see or hear the road from the hotel). The staff came out to greet us immediately and show us to our room. The first thing you see when you enter is the beautiful pool, the pristine and practically empty beach directly in front of the hotel and the views of the Pacific. Stunning! And we were lucky enough to see whales off the coast every day (we were there in January). We spent most of our time at the pool where the staff was super friendly and attentive, but they also don't hover. They honestly could not have been nicer or more gracious. We didn't venture out too much, but we did go into Todos Santos where we had DELICIOUS fish tacos at a taco stand (sorry I don't know the name). We also did a hike in the hills behind the hotel which was spectacular. Also, the hotel restaurant is VERY good. Even though we were only there for a few days, we both really felt like we got away and were able to relax and unplug. I can't recommend Hotel San Cristobal enough and can't wait till we have an excuse to go back!

The rooms are simple yet beautiful, but provide all you need when on a relaxing trip in Mexico. The aesthetic of the hotel is wonderful and the details in the room, from the bath robes to the bedding, feel authentic.

We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon. During our stay we ate at the on site restaurant (benna) once per day and every meal was delicious. Besides the great room and breathtaking views of the ocean/mountains, the entire staff really makes the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Everyone is happy to help and do all they can to ensure we were taken care of. They made several restaurant recommendations and reservations for us when requested. While lounging by the pool they frequently checked in to ask if we needed anything. Everyone was so polite and friendly and we felt like more than 'just another guest' by the end of the short stay.

Highly recommended, we can't wait to come back!

Unlike most of Cabo, Hotel Cristobal is completely secluded from the touristy, party vibes of Cabo. The hotel is stylish in decor and architecture with stunning access to what feels like a private beach. Prime seats above the ocean is perfect for sunset. The staff are friendly and attentive. Drinks and fresh seafood also delight! Stay as a guest or visit for a dream escape from the hype of Cabo.

This is a long overdue review. We stayed with another couple in Jan 2022 and our trip is an annual one without kids.

The Good- the hotel is spectacular, the design is amazing, everything is clean, and everything worked well. It felt very well maintained. The location is great, secluded enough to be away from the Cabo masses but close to surrounding towns so it’s close to go to town for dinner. The hotel was very relaxing, we hung out by the pool all day long almost everyone day. The food at the hotel was very good, especially in the main restaurant but I general we found it to be very limited at both the main and pool restaurants.

The not so good- we found the service to be lacking. More in a confused, disorganized, lack of training way not necessary a lack of trying way. We had to basically beg for our waters to be refilled throughout the day, remind the staff of our missing food or drink orders and were frustrated with so much pushback over things that were a slight deviation from the normal. It should be noted we are NOT high maintenance guests. We’re alway polite and understanding, and don’t ask for much, but this is a beach vacation destination and refilling guests water throughout the day should be standard operating procedure, not a request. Drinks often came mixed up or wrong, and when we requested the correct item the waits were lengthy. We found the lunch/pool menu to be very limited with only a few items so we requested off menu items a few times, which was also met with confusion, pushback and chaos. Think a fruit platter or something from the breakfast menu, we’re not talking about major deviations here. Most of the time the requests were met, but it took a lot of convincing and negotiating, not something a guest should ever have to face for a reasonable request. I’d also like to see some sort of afternoon treats passed out at the pool area. Fruit, sorbet, could drinks, something. Most resorts we’ve ever been to have done that. Lastly, the pool seating reservation situation was annoying. There aren’t enough loungers for all the guests so people wake up early to secure spots. They should think about expanding the seating down to the beach as an overflow area.

My general assessment of San Cristobal is it has the makings of an amazing boutique hotel, and if the service can be worked out, it will be one of the better places to visit in all of Mexico. I read they recently hired a new chef so maybe that will change things.

The hotel itself is really pretty—that you can see from photos. Everything was pleasant for our stay, the main two things that make me feel like I wouldn’t return: 1) poor value. After we checked out we stayed a 3 nights at a beautiful, modern villa with gorgeous beach front views—all 3 nights for the price of one night at HSC. 2) billing shenanigans. After we checked out we noticed mysterious charges from the hotel to my credit card that were not on my bill. Around this time, after ignoring an earlier email to the hotel, I got a form email that said the hotel was having an issue with their bank, and asked to reply back if I noticed any billing issues. Ok, fine, I resent the previous email. They said I was right, those charges seem wrong, and I should dispute them with my credit card company (!!!). We did not have these kinds of issues elsewhere in Todos Santos or Baja, where people were kind, honest, and went out of their way to provide good service.

San Cristobal is a true gem. Excellent, personable service, delicious food (best of our trip in Baja), and a stunningly designed and maintained property. Lounging by the pool / hot tubs feels like paradise, especially when you can hear the waves of Punta Lobos crashing so close by, and see the local fishermen coming to and fro on their boats. Dogs are welcome, which adds a nice, laid back feel. Every aspect of this hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. Can't say enough about the meals and drinks we had during our stay: everything was delicious and so fresh. The staff is incredibly kind and fun, and caring, too. I was sick when I arrived, and Karen at the front desk arranged with the chef to bring me hot tea and a made-from-scratch vegetable soup (not on the menu), and they checked in on me the following day. The sunsets at Todos Santos are stunning, and our New Year's Eve party with San Cristobal was such fun as well. I cannot wait to return.

My husband and I have wanted to stay here for a while! We booked 3 nights after staying at a different hotel in downtown Todos and we have been underwhelmed. The food and location are top notch — but the service does not match what you pay for. They did not clean are room 2 of the days we stayed there, there are not enough lounge chairs to accommodate the # of guests they have, they care more about the photos one might post to Instagram than actually providing top level service.

The food is outstanding and decently priced. The location is exceptional — with access to a great swimming beach and hiking trails.

However, given the price/room @ $600/night all in — I would not stay here again — I would just come for dinner. Disappointed but thankful we didn’t book our whole trip here. Will not stay here again,

This place is an absolute dream. My mom had been twice and recommended it to my husband and I for our honeymoon. We went over New Years 2020-2021 and the covid protocol is on point, there are very few people staying there (small hotel), the scenery and rooms are astounding and the staff is so incredibly nice. Dolce absolutely made the experience. She is phenomenal. I cried when I left since she was just so very nice. I can't wait to go back!

This is my 4th visit to Hotel San Cristobal and every time I go fall more in love with this property and Todos Santos. The hotel is beautifully tucked into a cove off a stretch of dirt road. We typically never leave the property but if you do there are many good restaurants now in Todos Santos. Benno the restaurant at the hotel is by far the best option though . From breakfast to dinner the food is fresh, innovative and delicious. We usually get an ocean view room and love the size and view from the room.
There are many great hikes from the property that go to other beautiful coves and in one area you can see many sea lions tanning on the rocks. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful and clean. And a great sunset view every night we are there. It’s also a beautiful walking beach . The water is too rough to swim in. It’s beautiful to watch the fisherman fish off the shore. At night from our balcony the star gazing is amazing. The best part is the service at this hotel, every waiter, housekeeper, front desk person is extremely nice and go over and beyond to make our trip perfect. Although I’ve in the past rented a car and drove the 45 minutes from the Cabo airport, I used Todos Santos Private Transportation this time and had great service !
