First time at this hotel and it was everything I would expect from a hotel of this type as a businessman who travels a lot. It was not "spectacular" or "exceptional" but it was good, clean, efficient and friendly. Room was a good size and well equipped - could have done with a mini-bar or fridge, but no big deal. One night we dined at the restaurant at the top of the adjoining building with the indoor pool - and the food was excellent. Second night, dined in the small bar near to reception desk and the food there was good. In all cases, I find nothing to complain about and value for money was good. When I am back in Tijuana next, I will happily stay here again.

The website paints a pretty picture, and the website is the nicest thing about this hotel. I travel for a living, and have NEVER seen a 5* in this condition. From the time I arrived in the parking lot of this 5*, I was worried. Check-in was painfully long. All exterior doors were open, on one of the coldest days in Tijuana (Jan. 23), and the lobby area is very run down. I was given a room on the 3rd floor, and upon entering, my worries came true. The room was dirty, with a broken shower curtain, peeling paint, black mold in the bathroom (mostly in the caulk in the corners of the shower, and base of toilet). The towels in the bathroom were literally falling apart. I spent about 2 minutes in the room, trying to convince myself that it would be ok, but then decided to politely ask for another room. I was immediately given another room....even worse than the 1st. I had booked this hotel for 4 nights, but did not want to venture out and find another hotel on the same evening, so I only spent 1 night there. Here is a small list of things that must be improved. 1) Pick up trash in the parking lot, along with general maintenance and landscaping 2) Turn on the heat when it's cold (the room was 16 degrees Celsius when I arrived, and 13 the next morning. Each room has it's own HVAC system and thermostat, but they did not work. (employees were dressed in down coats while working at the front desk!) 3) Clean and paint the common areas, elevators, and hallways 4) Room renovation is absolutely necessary. I could hear people talking in rooms above, beside, and below me 5) Mold/mildew tests and removal

We have stayed here twice, this first time In July 2021 we had a “select” room which was nice, clean and comfortable. In December I reserved a deluxe room thinking that we hadn’t used the amenities offered by the select room (slippers, cont breakfast). This room was across the pool in the older section and was not nearly as nice. The bathroom was tiny and the room was smaller. Overall the hotel is nice, the pool is wonderful and the restaurants are good. Room service is good. Smart TVs so one can watch TV in English. There can be late night noise from live entertainment on the rooftop of the K Tower (sister property) no matter which room you’re in. Either way, I’d recommend paying the extra $30-50 per night for the Select room!

Wow this place may look nice from the front lobby but what a s*** hole. Paid $225 for 1 night because my kids and I did not want to wait for hours in the border line. Got to our room and it was terrible. The furniture was in bad shape, I couldn’t even open my patio door the maintained guy came to help me. The patio door lock was broken so no way to lock it. I will never stay here again. The room was a dump looked more like a bad motel room. Room needed to be painted there were missing chips all over walls and furniture. Smelled funny too. Yuck avoid this dump

Stay: December 24th & 25th 2021 My family and I stayed at the hotel during Christmas 2021. The rooms we got were nice for the price. They were spacious and quiet. My issue is with the service and food during the Christmas Dinner Buffet and the breakfast. For the price, the food was very uninteresting almost sad looking. The dessert was something bought from La Comer or Calimax. Very limited food options. The hostess asked for my receipt before I could enter the restaurant even though I had paid for the dinner way in advance. The restaurant should have a copy of my receipt in its system. Anyway, after I had given the hostess my receipt, another waiter came to my table asking for my receipt again. I told him I had already given it to the person at the entrance. He then said that I had not given it to anyone at the entrance. Anyway, I politely told him to go and look for it, but I did show him I was upset about their carelessness. Needless to say, my receipt was found. Also, for a 5 people reservation, why are you adding the tip in advance? It is illegal according to PROFECO. Lucerna’s other restaurant Ravioli really needs to train the receptionist answering the phone because she could not even read the menu for their Christmas dinner. She could not even answered the most basic questions.

The service was good. I came to help a friend have surgery. They offer a shuttle to Baja Hosputal. They are very on time for pick up. The restaurant in the lobby for breakfast was good. The one on the roof top was Sushi 🍣 and was very delicious. 5 ☆

Traveling with my service dog, and this lovely hotel was one of a few that accepted dogs. There was some confusion when dinning at their restaurants as I was not allowed in/or on the patio with my animal. The food and beverage boss was kind enough to accommodate me at the tables by the pool…near the patio area to the restaurant. He checked on me multiple times to ensure I was “todo bien” and it was perfect! I would highly recommend this hotel for solo female travelers with a certified service animal. Be prepared to show documentation of the certification along with immunizations. I always travel with those, so no problema! Muchas Gracias Amigos! Hasta Luego!! Oh bartenders were awesome! All staff was really. And the margaritas…muy buen!!

There are just way better hotels to stay at, where you can get better service in an area more conducive to walking around without needing a taxi. We booked this hotel because of its star ratings. We enjoy staying in nice hotels! This hotel is a 3 star at best based off the services provided by the staff alone. They missed so many little details it’s SAD! I am here on a medical recovery so we ordered lots of room service. Not ONCE did they get our orders correct. Each time the staff had to return 1-2 times to bring things back and looked frustrated that they had to bring things that they had forgotten. Last straw was I ordered a salad and they didn’t bring dressing, they took 30 minutes to bring the dressing and then asked for a charge correction because they made yet another mistake! We ordered drinks several times with no ice buckets and waited an hour for that also. The room was poorly cleaned. Leaving trash cans with no trash bags inside of them. We went out for a walk so they could clean the room and again. Poor job cleaning, floor not swept, still no trash bags in the garbage and bathroom not cleaned well. The area isn’t the best, the streets are wild so it’s difficult to just take a walk across the street unless you are literally running across. It isn’t really near anything. The room next to us had children staying there that we could easily hear all night. Not blaming the children it’s just the rooms are not very sound proof at all.

I planned a trip to Tijuana,Mexico I made a reservation at the Lucerna hotel that my dear friend recommended me , we arrive at the Hotel and everything was good , first impression was nice , got the keys to my room , we got to the room first thing was the horrible smell in the bathroom , but I though was going to go away Me and my friend started to get ready to go out for the night , we put some music on YouTube when we heard a knock on the door , it was someone from the hotel , when I open the door he said with a really bad attitude. “ lower the volume or turn off the music “ the next door guest has surgery and she complaint about the loud music . I told him why he was talking to me in a rude manner , that I paid as much as she did and he didn’t have to treat me that way ! I also told him that if we could change rooms instead because the bathroom smell , He did not even pay attention to what I said , instead his response was “ no “! But you can leave the hotel now ! My friend came out and told him I recommended this hotel to my friend and that’s why we stay here but we have never been treated the way you are treating us ! His name is “Luis” - he is the night shift manager We told him that we were going lower the volume We closed the door and we were very upset at him for treating us the way he did ! He Knock on the door again , asking if we said something to him ? We said no but he did not even gave us a chance to lower the volume So he continue with the harassment Treating us like we were trash We lower the volume while he was harassing us for the second time and he tried to push the door open But we asked him again what was wrong with him And my friend kept telling him that we have never been treated the way he was treating us ! We finally got ready , I went up to the reception and complaint about him Some other guy came out but we saw that he was inside , the other guy say that in fact “Luis was the night manager or supervisor “ But he was busy to help us That he was able to help , we told him that “Luis doesn’t have any professionalism or Hospitality training at all and no customer service training either ! First he broke the confidentiality of the other guest by telling us that she had surgery , the. He went on to harassing to ladies and trying to push our door open and trying to tell us to leave the hotel ! He told his partner that we scream obscenities at him F- this and F-that Which it’s a lie , because we never used those words to tell him off When we close our door the first time off course we were very upset but we never said anything to his face ! Which he told his partner we did Second we complained about the smell in the bathroom but no one came to do anything, the Also put us in the last room in the hotel So for me it was a horrible experience in this so call luxury, honorable hotel Lucerna in Tijuana ! No one seems to care if your stay is comfortable and the hospitality is not honorable , they don’t know what hospitality mean !

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Nice grounds. Rooms ok. Staff very accommodating. Couple restaurants within the hotel were ok. Ended up checking out early. Normally hotels do not allow without charging either another full night or a portion of. They allowed us to check out early with no additional charge
