I've been coming to this place for decades.. Great place for the money! About 13 rooms. Past the giant Jesus statue. Ive been coming here since i was young . It keeps getting nicer and nicer. I was shown by a friend.
Let me start with, my wife forgot her wallet in the room and we realized it 4 hours later once we were home on the US side. A quick email to the place and they confirmed they had it and would hold onto it for us. I can't express how amazing and rare it is to find a location with the quality of people they had working there and we are extremely thankful everything was still in the wallet. Great family get away location, walking distance to two taco stands, a new brewery, breakfast, convenience store, and a restaurant. Had my two infants and wife and the staff let them run around and enjoy themselves. Fire pit overlooking the water and just a few yards from the beach. I highly suggest you stop by and check it out!
If you are looking for a true Mexican experience you have to make your way to Robert's K38. The people at Robert's place are so accommodating. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and come equipped with the sound of the crashing ocean waves!
I loved Robert's K38 Surf Motel - it's in a perfect location literally 20 yards from the water, right on the surf breaks known as K38s & Teresa's. The owners Robert & Russ (father & son) are very welcoming and treat you like family from the first moment you walk in. They were very generous with advice on where to surf, which restaurants to try, how to get around, etc. The motel is very nice and they recently re-built the outdoor patios which are great for meeting all the other guests who come from all over the world to surf Baja. There are several different restaurants within a five-minute walk of Robert's, along with a surf shop and pharmacy. Everything you need is close by. It's easy to find the place, even if you come by bus as I did. If you drive down like most people, the motel has plenty of parking. The prices are great too. Highly recommended!…
My husband has wanted to surf in Mexico (we're East Coast folks) and chose Robert's K38 because it reminded him of a surf motel in Puerto Rico from years ago. VERY laid back and very easy to get a room. When we checked in, my name was written in pencil in a spiral ring notebook which is pretty basic! You have to pick your room on the internet and we got one with water, shower, two beds, sofa and a tall table (room #1). Some of the other rooms have fewer amenities but appeared nice too when looked at. There is a lot of noise at night with guys playing ping pong and drinking local beer, but it was still a lot of fun! We were only there for two days and the last day we had no water, but really...it's Mexico, so we weren't overly concerned. There is a common fridge where you put your stuff and no one bothered it. Met some nice surfer guys, but very few gals there, but I've been know to hang with anybody and it was fun!…
I stayed there last September and really enjoyed it. I like the setup for surfers which has separate room for board storage and rinsing/shower area for yourself and wetsuit. After a session, I could walk down to the local market and buy a beer and snack. Then I would return and sit outside in the common area to enjoy the view of the beach and talk to other surfers.
I just got back from a quick strike down to Baja to catch the large swell that wrecked the North Shore as it hit the west coast 2 days later. Since it was mid-week, all of northern Baja was pretty quiet - I stopped by Roberts and got a room. I wasn't expecting to surf the afternoon I arrived, but Teresas - which is directly in front of the hotel - was beginning to show. There was only a handful of guys out, and I jumped on it after an OH set came through. Towards dusk, it began to get really big (2x OH), actually starting to close out 100+ yards way outside. I woke up the next morning thinking I could possibly surf the Point - which is just 400 yards south of the hotel - but sets were breaking on the horizon and washing through the entire K38 area. I decided to head down to San Miguel, which was maybe the biggest I've seen in it in years. So, I got in two great surf sessions which was afforded by having Robert's as a hub location right on the beach with great security. The place is set up for surfing/beach activities, with a large board storage area, power shower (for sand & wetsuits), washer/dryer & outdoor cooking area. If you don't want to camp, or don't want/need to deal with 2-3 day luxury rentals, Roberts is optimized for getting in, getting wet & getting home with a minimum amount of hassle.…
My wife and I drove through from valle de guadalupe to come and see you face to face. We asked Russel kindly if it was ok if we did not take up our booking as we were now in a bigger group that booked elsewhere.Russel very kindly said it was not a problem and told my wife and I that he would refund the full deposit in the next few days. If he had said he would not or would only refund 50% then we would have stayed 1 or 2 nights with them.We have read such great reviews on various websites of your hotel and were disappointed not to be staying with you. Russel (Robert K38) is now refusing to honour their word and pay back the full deposit. They are now forcing a dispute with Paypal and telling us to read the fine print. This is really not cool! You taking your great reputation and now putting it through the mud! Good luck to you.…
This place is amazing! It really is clean and affordable. Right on the beach, and there's some yummy food places near by. A really good taco shop and a restaurant called "charlye". The water is really nice, it gets warm instantly, so do you don't have to worry about being cold. Robert and Russel were awesome people! My friends and I stayed for 3 days, and I'm for sure coming back soon with a bigger group of people! Really liked how there's a fire pit and ping pong table for people to play with and they have 2 dogs that are the cutest! If you're looking for a place to stay-THIS IS THE ONE!
Had a great time here. Surfing, fishing and rented a kayak by the hour. Great hospitality from the owners. Took a cruise up to the Jesus Statue, Awesome view from up there. Stayed in upstairs room with 6 of us, decent rooms with kitchen and living room. One room had a California King bed and the other was a queen bed, living room has two couches. If you are getting in the water bring your water shoes or booties. Great waves here. Pray for SURFers. GOD Bless. Thx Russ and Robert.
