I've been to the Tripui hotel many times, this was probably my third this year. I always enjoy being in such a tranquil site, which is surrounded by big mountains, canyons and a unique bay. The food is also amazing!

We have been staying at Hotel Tripui two or three times a year for over twenty years. The hotel experience has always been good and has been a good value for the price. The restaurant has been very good for at least the last five years. The pool area and landscaping is simply beautiful. We have always had pets and the pet fees have always been reasonable. This year, not so. They almost bordered on the ridiculous. The pet fee was 500 Mxn per pet of which we have two. The room fee was $1,100 Mxn and the pet fee added another $1,000 Mxn. To put this in perspective, most other Mexican hotels have a pet fee of $100 to $200 Mxn per room. Not per pet! Stay away from Room 108 in the summer. It is the end room and the summer sun shines on two of the walls for the entire day. The A/C can not keep the room comfortable. All other rooms are okay as is Rm 108 if your stay is not in the summer months.

This is a beautiful compound in a quiet location close to the Marina Puerto Escondido. Pet friendly. Nice and spacious rooms, with an awesome front patio and a beautiful view of the pool. Plus, there is a wonderful onsite restaurant. It is outside of Loreto, Mexico, so expect basic decor with some minor deferred maintenance. We paid the equivalent of $70 a night with pet and tax, so quite a deal. We loved it.

We had high hopes for Hotel Trip, but were disappointed. It was fine, but nothing more than that. It's a peaceful location, and the inner courtyard area around the pool is quite pretty. We thought the room was shabby and needed an upgrade - the tub was disgusting (lots of black worn-away finish rather than clean white). The beds were hard and the pillows were small. The room had no glasses or coffee cups (despite having a little in-room coffee station) so we had to go ask for a cup. There were also only 2 little bottles of water in the room, so we had to go ask for more water as well. The pool needed cleaning - we didn't go in it. The front desk girl was pleasant enough. The on-site restaurant was quite good and I'll review that separately. We appreciated that this hotel is pet friendly. We would stay here again if we had to but will try for our preferred hotel in Loreto and only use this as one of our last options. All the 5-star reviews are definitely misleading - bring your expectations down a couple notches if you're going to stay here!

We had a great stay at Hotel Tripui in February 2020! The location is excellent, about 12 miles south of Loreto near the beautiful Puerto Escondido harbor. All of the Tripui staff members are super friendly and attentive, and the hotel is clean, quiet and well-kept. Tripui has a nice restaurant and bar with great food. The harbor has a nice restaurant, too, and a mini-mart with groceries and liquor. We enjoyed our time poolside at the Tripuri and you can’t beat the price. We will definitely go back. A major plus for us was the network of hiking trails in the hills behind the Tripui; we’d like to go back and explore them more, along with the nearby Tabor Canyon trail. There are several nice beaches in the area. The Vista al Mar/Clam Shack on the way from Loreto is nearby and is an excellent roadside restaurant with fairly limited hours; check it out!
