This was our first trip to Loreto, a rustic coastal community in old Mexico. This is not a resort town with huge all-inclusives. Loreto Bay Golf and Spa is a nice place on the bay with everything you need to relax, swim, and eat on a vacation. The hotel is nice although a bit old school. The staff is hard working and willing to help within the limits they can. Check in is slow because their system is slow. I recommend when you get a room, plan on checking it out to make sure it is at the standard you need. Check the air conditioner, ceiling fan, sheets and shower to be sure you are happy. We did and had a nice room for the stay. Food is served at the pool, upstairs bar and in the breakfast cafe. The pool bar food and drinks were good and we ate there several times. Breakfast was free on our stay and included traditional Mexican breakfast items and an omelette bar. There is no “extra” food store at the resort so candy, sodas, and bottled water for the room must be purchased elsewhere. Service is slower but this is true at EVERY restaurant in Loreto. There is no hurry in Loreto. The pool was warm and a hit among the hotel guests. The beach included free palapa coverage and lounges. I recommend bringing snorkeling masks because the shallow bay is teaming with a large variety of fish too see. It was very fun and safe. There are kayaks and paddle boards to use for free as well. We ate off site at Vista Al Mar (The Clam Shack) about 3 miles south. Highly recommended. We also went into Loreto to Mediterraneo and Mi Lareto, both excellent. Look them up on Yelp for more details. $10 fish dinners and $2 beers, what else can you say. We went to Loreto to relax, eat good food, swim in warm water and experience rustic Mexico. Loreto Bay Golf Resort and Spa is a great way to go.

Fan didn't work and getting anyone to fix was a nightmare. Never got fixed. Excuse after excuse after call after call. Attitudes of the staff for the most part was sub-par to absolutely terrible. Staff is poorly trained and take their jobs for granted. They are not interested in customer satisfaction. Food by the pool was bad. Burned, dry burgers. Burned chicken wings. Lack of checking on us at all sit down meals. drinks were made by very bad bartenders and they constantly ran out of beer choices, food and booze. Finally, the pool was so dirty we were scared to go in. It looked like a gorilla piss-pool. don't go here. It looks great from far but far from great.

On July 2019 my husband, my kid and I stayed at the Loreto Bay Golf Resort & Spa at Baja. Was a good overall experience. It’s a very big property. The name “resort” is very well applied. The gardens are beautiful, the beach and sunsets incredible. The hotel included 1 hour of kayak, paddle board, snorkel and bicycle per day at no additional cost. We, as a family, think that with a little more attention to details would be a perfect vacation destination since is clearly suffering with maintenance issues. The corridors to get to our room were dirty, our room had some issues as well as the swimming pool (as explained later). LOCATION: The hotel is in a very nice area of Loreto. The beach is beautiful, with dark sand. You can go snorkeling, kayaking, etc. ROOMS: Our room was 155, has two double beds. Good size room, looks old but clean. - Views: We had a beautiful view to the garden and beach. - Illumination: The room it’s very well illuminated, lots of lamps and spots. Just how I like it. - Beds: Very soft mattress. I though my sleep was going to be bad, but I slept very well. - Noise: No noise. - Cleanliness: It was clean. Towels: Need new ones. - Other: It needs more attention to details. As I will show in pictures, the sink faucet was loose, one drawer with no knob (the screws visible), the TV was very dark, we tried to adjust using the picture menu to no success (good for us that we didn’t use it that much). SERVICE: The staff is respectful and friendly but need more training. Ie. The waiter at the pool was new, he didn’t know the menu. When we picked beach towels sometimes they asked for ID, sometimes didn’t. For entering the property the rules changed too. - Wi Fi: Fast. - Swimming Pool: We didn’t use it. Very crowded. It looked oily because of all the sunscreen. This morning was the first time it looks really clean but we were checking out. - Gym: Dirty, old, very small. Notoriously in need of maintenance. - Common areas: Some of them in need of TLC. - Business Center: Nil. - Transportation: Nil.

Worst customer service ever!! The fist day of my stay I reported that the mini fridge wasn’t working, the coffee maker was broken and a light bulb needed to be replaced. They did nothing about it until the second day after the 3rd time that I reported it. By the time my wife and I went to the pool, the cleaning service was done and the reported items were fixed by the time we came back to the room. When living out the room and trying to retrieve our personal belongings (money) from the safe, it “didn’t recognize my code, it was weird since it’s the same number as my PIN (unforgettable). I had to go to the front desk, they sent the maintenance guy to open the safe with a Master code. My wife and I were missing about $900 USD, a considerable amount since it was our second day in Loreto. Nobody was held accountable, the GM German promised me to show me the proof of the safe record (which they never had). They stated that only Managers of each department have access to the Master code but in this case any person has access (the maintenance guy) to the safe. Terrible experience, terrible management, only Paulina from front desk was empathetic and friendly about the situation.

Good day, indeed we gave both the reading of the door, where you could observe that only you and your wife entered the room, then the maid, no one else entered your room. Also read the safe box and you accept that lock. the box was opened in its presence by the maintenance staff, as we saw that only you opened the box and no one else did. The same thing happened with the cap that according to you, some people take it from the room and it turns out that the cap you forgotten in the pool and it is delivered to him in front desk . I told his wife that we would call the police to follow up and she did not mention anything, as I told her very strange since there has never been a case like this and less than a safe box. I ask you to really explain how things went. regards
