My wife and I needed a short break from the heat of south Texas and from work. So we headed impromptu to Santa Fe, one of our favorite resting places within driving distance. Although we had utilized the spa at Loretto, we have never stayed there. The other favored places were sold out on the nights we were going to... More

I liked the hotel. Great pools and grounds. Rooms plain, but large and clean, and hot water. Even fireplace, not sure if ever used. Nice staff, views of the water. A short walk on the beach to the malecon. The beach is little rocky with grey sand, but that is the way beaches in Loreto are. Breakfast was fine, lunch... More

Conveniently located at the end of the malecon in Loreto, the Desert Inn is a nice, back-front property. The beach itself is a bit dirty, rather than sandy, but the view is still beautiful. The rooms are very large, bright, clean, and we've been pleased every time we've stayed here. The hotel's status as "pet-friendly" seems a bit uncertain... On... More

We rented a house in town and someone in the complex mentioned this location as having a very nice beach. We walked there to check it out and found the location to be very nice. Right on the beach, very nice pool. The manager was nice enough to show us a room and they looked really clean and nice. We... More

We found this hotel very clean, accommodating, and the staff friendly. Wifi was not accessible in our room but had no problem in the lobby or outside courtyard. Very reasonably priced hotel for one that is on the beach. Lots of seaglass to be found! I would skip the restaurant as I believe there are a lot better places in... More

I`ve always found the government run hotels in Baja to be hit and miss as far as quality. There is little monetary incentive so it all depends on the current manager. Right now the Desert Inn, Loreto is great. The rooms are huge and clean, a very large balcony on the second floor, lots of hot water, nice big clean... More

The check in area and pool were OK, but no bar or food as claimed. The rooms were spartan but clean and tolerable. The beach area was not what I would think a Baja beach should be, large grained sand and rocks. The Desert Inn was not as bad as the other reviews claimed but it also wasn’t the best... More

This place is just a nightmare. Nobody cares. There is no hot water, no TV reception, no internet, the AC unit is terribly loud, the bathroom smells... And on top of that when we were there other guests were having a party in the car park, just outside our room. Loud music until 4 am, beer cans everywhere, and they... More

I have stayed in this hotel three different times before this time, always, with friends who had dogs. I kept giving it the benefit of the doubt. We heard it had recently sold and was in transition. Well just forget it! Now, they are no longer pet friendly. Upon our arrival they informed us, in a very direct way, that... More
