3. Costa Baja is a 3 star hotel that presents itself as a 5 star resort. It is located very far from La Paz center and the airport. It offers no shuttles, so you need to use Uber or taxi for any trip in or out of the hotel. The room we stayed had well used (almost shabby) furniture. There are two average restaurants on premises. The hotel has a good pool. The beach accessible with a short walk has no hotel amenities. The beautiful beach pictures the hotel advertises on its site, show the private beach club nearby. You can buy a day pass there for $26 US per person per day, but it is extra to what you pay for the hotel stay. The small shopping mall near the hotel offers a coffee shop, couple small restaurants, and few tour agencies. In my view, the hotel is hugely overpriced for what it offers.…
Two large husky type dogs with no collar or leash/owners to be found will harass you away from the small hotel beach and make you go spend your day next door at the much better beach club pool and beach. This resort is too pet friendly allowing large breed dogs to run around wild and crap all over the beach. No one cares.
This hotel is unbelievable. The staff made my trip great especially their manager Dahlia she always so helpful. This is why I have been going every year for the past 6 years. The views , the spa the beach club are fantastic. In addition the staff helped us set up several wonderful day trips.
This hotel has terrible service, with a lack of management, they are very unorganized. the check in process if confusing, the rooms are nothing special. we had a few issues at the pool and "charges"m for things we did not use. the room had bugs, and issues with the air conditioner. they refused to give us solutions, and had major delay in response and care for us. we moved to Hyatt Place. a much nicer property.
There is a nice heated pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is very close (just east) to La Paz and the nearby beaches. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 200 characters minimum ! now we have it.
We (myself, my husband, and our 2 kids, ages 11 and 13) recently stayed at the Costa Baja Resort for a few nights before a sailing trip. The staff was courteous and helpful, our room clean and well appointed. The location of the resort was perfect for our needs - right next to the marina we would be leaving from. We ate breakfast at the resort - very good. Lunch and dinner we walked to nearby restaurants in the marina area. The staff helped us out on our departure day by checking out luggage until we could get on our boat, and driving us and our bags to the charter office in a golf cart so we didn't have to lug it al ourselves. The area is very safe, clean, and beautiful. We hope to return someday soon for a longer stay!
This resort is a one stop shop. The location is literally perfect, close proximity(walking distance) to restaurants, market and beach club. Hotel itself also was A-1 class, rooms(we stayed in one of the suites - 302), service(concierge, housekeeping, bell-hops, front desk), on-property restaurants. Everything was almost perfect about our stay. If you’re going to La Paz, this place is where one should stay. 7$ cab right to go downtown. We will 100% return and when we do we will always stay at Costa Baja resort. They deserve to be upgraded to 5-star. Everyone was great, Rafael, Marcio, Patricio, “Nacho”, Azizi, everyone there was kind and courteous. Absolutely amazing trip to La Paz do in large part to our stay at Costa Baja! - Shaun
Staying for a relaxing vacation and the service is 5 star from the check in to concierge to bell hop. ALL employees are stellar. General Manager is welcoming and treated us so enthusiastically. Every care was taken to make our stay satisfactory. Very pleased!!
I went to La Paz to recover from an operation , and we made a reseservation in advance for a suite at the Costa Baja Hotel ; however they were not able to provide two queen beds, but instead they offered me a “GREAT”condo. However , to my surprise the great condo was a small bedroom (part of a condo) with two beds , not a single chair in the bedroom, a small terrace, no place to put your luggage, a kitchenette ( a microwave and a mini bar in a closet ), a terrible bath, awful towels and linen, just one garbage can, pool with cold water , and no towels, no refreshments , in short a complete rip off, and all that for just $450 US a night. The next day I left to look for a better place, they told me that I was going to get my money back because they charged my AMEX almost $3000 in advance , but nothing so far . I talked several times with a person called Benjamin and with the assistant of Ramon Ascencio, they said that they were going to call me back but they never did, so they just took my money, just like that. Don’t take my word for it just look at the pictures, a complete fraud.…
Costa Baja was my husbands and mine first vacation 6 years ago, and we fell in love! We always knew we'd get married here once that conversation came up. We planned our wedding prior to covid but of course everything was put on hold. When we asked to pick back up planning a year later the staff was very responsive and helped us right away! I can't say enough amazing things about the staff and the venue. They went so far above and beyond to help us and make sure that all of our guest and an amazing time and we were stress free! The decor, and the food we're far above what we expected. All of our friends and family had the best. time and are all obsessed with La Paz the way that we are. This is such a hidden gem for weddings, and vacations!
