On my first dive trip to the Sea of Cortez I randomly chose Club Cantamar (every dive outfit in La Paz has as many good reviews as bad so I flipped a mental coin). I absolutely loved my dive master, Aaron. It was low season so the divers weren't abundant. The company arranged for me to join a snorkeling group... More

This review is for diving only. Dorothy was my guide. Rodrigo helped me set everything up, when all the other dive companies were dragging their feet and not committing since its low season. He told me we would dive. I even dove by myself one day. But on to the good stuff. I saw sea lions up CLOSE and personal.... More

We did several times the trip to Espiritu Island, plus once the trip to the gray whales and once the trip to the whale sharks. It was amazing! These guys can provide you plenty of information about the place you go (they even have books on board to show you the topography of the place) and the animals you see.... More

My girlfriend and I did both the sea lion and whale shark tours with Club Cantamar and was the best value for money of my life. The sea lions were incredibly playful and I lost direction of which way was up when diving down with the baby lions. Amazing! Whale sharks were just as good if not more impressive given... More

We had a great outing with Cantamar. The panga picked us up right in front of their office on the beach side of the malecon within 15 minutes of the quoted departure time. There were 4 of us and the boat driver. The driver, Luis, was really excellent and patient with us as some were a bit nervous about getting... More

Big boat loads of space in fact only two others dived with us each day. Great lunch, burritos and sandwiches and all the waters, frescas and cokes etc we could drink. Ice cold. Air tasted fine, good place to lock your gear to dry it. Seemed like good rental gear although we had our own. However they did provide us... More

Don't use their scuba, appalling. Compared to web site, 2hr late departure, no breakfast, rusty boat & poor lunch. Safety wise, they didn't check diving credentials, insurance or health certification. Due to late departure, dive guid trying to still squeeze in 3 dives, resulting in 45 mins surface interval time. I've dived all over the world & this by far... More

Hello clrat. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. Our diving days do not include breakfast as you can read on clubcantamar.com/diving.html . All our diving guides, instructors and crew are certified, and our ships are insured. Usually we get good comments on onboard lunch, the amazing Cantamar fish ceviche or onboard sandwiches. Usually our dive masters don´t squeeze time... More

Club Cantamar has a small storefront right on the Malecon, near OXXO. Walk right in and reserve your whale shark, sea lion or espiritu Santos experience. They are super friendly and very knowledgeable. Their prices are reasonable and they make every effort to accommodate you. But, first you must get in your Baja state of mind. Things are casual and... Don't recommend to go there if you are looking for a great experience. Unprofessional and non well organize, we finally had to come back to LA Paz after the tour on our own transportation since no body was there to pick us up. Don't recommend it at all, choose an other agence tour!!

We didn't stay at the hotel - we did use the services of the Dive school. Had a great excursion. We swam & snorkled with the whale sharks and saw a bonus a pod of bottle-nose dolphins up close. They could have sold us a trip to the beaches - but didn't advise that we go because it was too... More
