The Resort sits on it's own private peninsula--just a short 10 minute shuttle boat ride from the core or La Paz--the Malecon, restaurants, shops and culture. We just enjoyed a month of golf at the Paraiso golf course. This golf course has so many pluses but the biggest enjoyment we get is to see our “golf family” Marco (manager) and his staff (Maria, Mariana and Jacinto). These people make the experience of golf a memorable time. They always have a warm smile, such a positive attitude and they work hard to ensure we enjoy our golf experience. Marco, the manager, works hard to keep his staff and golfers well organized. This is our fourth time in La Paz and really, this golf course is a best-kept secret. Marco continues to display professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm. To golf the course is very relaxing but there are many challenges on the greens and fairways. The greens and tee boxes are always well kept and there are well placed sand traps and of course, water hazards. The maintenance staff are constantly working hard to keep the course in great shape. There are beautiful ocean view holes, lots of birds, flowers and cacti. The golf palapa restaurant offers a great lunch menu operated by Ronnie and Magdalene. The cook (Maria) does a great job with a morning breakfast, lunch and even special event suppers. In our opinion, Johnny makes the best margarita in La Paz. You can even call them while you are golfing and they will have your drinks or food ready at the turn. The service at Paraiso golf is nothing but first class. Everyone there deserves the utmost recognition and respect, as they definitely know what customer service is all about. Thank you Marco for all that you do to make the Paraiso Golf Course our favorite golf experience anywhere.

Stayed here for four nights after flying in to SJD. Didn't really know what to expect as this was not an all inclusive or timeshare rental but a find off of VRBO. Our unit B203 was absolutely beautiful. Two bedrooms (2 queens & 1 king), 3 full bathrooms, full kitchen and dining/living area with three huge terraces overlooking the grounds, pool and the bay. The property is on a peninsula but is generally reached by a ferry that runs regularly from the property to the marina; a short 8-10 min. boat ride. There is a beautiful infinity pool, golf course, pool and pool bar/restaurant that I will write about separately but is really wonderful. A make shift convenience store on site has limited items but things like water, beverages, some staples, toiletries etc. There are golf carts for rent and bicycles to use free of charge. These would be used to get from your residence to the ferry dock which is about a half a mile from the condo units. Beach is nice and swimmable but very shallow for long distance and light waves. Since this was a regular rental we didn't have maid service which was fine for us only being there four nights. Our unit also had a compact washer and dryer as well. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful particularly Brenda with SeaSide Rentals and the shuttle drivers Nico and Jose The other owners are very welcoming and pleasant. La Paz is a beautiful non-touristy Mexican city. Prices are extremely reasonable. If you want glitz and nightlife stay in Cabo. But if you want luxury with peace and quiet this is your place. Really pleased with our choice and definitely would return in the future.

We stayed in unit C102 at Paraiso Del Mar in early November 2018. Since there are no reviews for this unit I will give an overview of the resort and this particular unit as well as some pros and cons. The facility is very nice and was quite empty during our visit. People said that it was at the beginning of the high season and would get quite busy. They are in the midst of building several of the units, so construction noise and lots of dust was always there during the day. The restaurant was very good and reasonable, and all staff members were extremely nice and helpful. Although there is no official office, the sales office was reasonably helpful and allowed us to use the phone and print out return boarding passes. The facility has been there for over 10 years and shows it in some places. Owners we talked to from the condos and the casitas said that it has changed ownership three times due to financial issues and they hoped this current one would last. We did use the bicycles several times to ride around the area and it is a great addition. Unfortunately due to the beach environment, they are rusted in some places making adjustment for the seat and handlebars impossible. A little maintenance would go a long way, to help this. When we arrived at the airport and asked a taxi to take us there they had never heard of the resort, even though it is the only one on El Magote (peninsula) and clearly visible form everywhere on the Malecon in La Paz. It made no sense to us. Getting groceries is a bit of a hassle, even though they have a very, very small store at the resort, you have to get it to the boat dock and transfer it over to El Magote then van it over to your condo. I would think future plans should include a small market. The dive operators did pick us up at the resort dock, which made things way more convenient. Although I did not have time to play golf, it looked very nice and playable with at this time of year very few people playing. The beach on the bay side is really not a white sandy beach nor particularly clear water. This is also where the whale sharks are and can be seen from a high vantage point. The other side closest to La Paz is more mangroves. We did scuba dive and snorkel a couple of days and found it somewhat underwhelming. Visibility was moderate at best and coral pretty sparse. There were reasonable numbers of fish, but little variety. Whale sharks were the big draw and well worth the effort The unit itself was in I think the best location in the center of the complex and on the ground floor, so getting in and out to the pool and restaurant was very easy. When we arrived at the unit, assisted by the property manager the air conditioning unit was under repair, and making an intolerable noise. They needed more parts and fixed it the next day. The three televisions were not functioning when we arrived and the remote controls had corroded batteries in them. The living room tv was fixed the next day but we were never able to get either bedroom tv to function. Even though they have a book with rules and helpful phone numbers there is no instructions for the televisions. As each room has three remote controls for each tv, which are not labeled as to which tv they go to, it was difficult to get them to function. I would have expected that since no one had been in our unit for weeks prior to our visit that these things would have been fixed prior to guests arrival. One thing that we found rather annoying was the fees associated with the booking. I was advertised at $150 per night and since we only stayed 3 nights for a total of $450 the bill came to $660 after $50 booking fee, $100 cleaning fee and taxes, almost 50% more than the advertised price. Bottom-line: nice restful place, quiet, could use some updating and would consider revisiting.
