First trip to La Paz for my daughter and me. What a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, spacious B&B compound we experienced with Hacienda Paraiso. Richard was a very gracious host (Gloria was away in the US visiting family), sharing a daily delicious breakfast with us and coordinating our activities as needed. Such safe and tranquil setting - a great place to come back to after each day's adventures. Thank you Richard - we will return!

We absolutely recommend Hacienda Paraíso. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and our luggage was taken to our rooms which were well appointed and decorated with an artist's eye. The area is safe and quiet--we slept so well all four nights we were there. Having a garage for our vehicle was an added bonus. Breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed chatting with Richard and Gloria and getting to know other guests. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing, a great place to relax and recharge. Richard was very helpful in making arrangements for side trips. Thank you Gloria and Richard, we will be back!

Richard & Gloria were warm and helpful hosts with a gorgeous property, clean & comfortable rooms, beautiful landscaping and pool, and delicious breakfasts every day. Parking available in garage, walking distance to beach, short drive to the Malecon, excellent restaurant advice. Gloria's artwork is exceptional! Will definitely visit again if we return to La Paz!

We were spending a family Christmas in LaPaz. We rented out the whole B&B for 5 nights. The compound is completely safe, high walls and fences and a security code to get in. The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast was tasty and well prepared. We were able to prepare Christmas Eve dinner on site using their bar area and barbecue. The grounds were impeccable and the rooms were spotless. We felt like we were in a home away from home. Richard and Gloria are amazing host and hostess. They try to offer you services outside of the B&B. Richard arranges incredible well organized safe tours. He is a treasure trove of knowledge. Gloria is friendly and knowledgable. This was our first stay in La Paz. We - a family of three, with a seven-year-old girl - have been to the Eastern Cape of Baja Sur before, and love the region. We wanted to explore the bay of La Paz and what it has to offer, in its natural and urban setting. We tend to shy away from bigger hotels, and were happy to find Hacienda Paraiso, which looked beautiful and inviting from the pictures. Hacienda Paraiso is a very special place, carefully designed and crafted by artist and scientists Gloria and Richard. From the start, Gloria was very accommodating and kind in helping choose the best room to suit our needs for the stay with our child. When we arrived, Richard met us at the door and showed us where to park our rental car in their spacious garage, off the street and away from the glaring hot sun. Then Richard proceeded to give us a tour of the premises and guide us on what we might want to do in the next few days during our stay. Richard and Gloria are delightful and knowledgeable. We had several wonderful conversations with them spanning many interesting topics. Richard was able to book us into a boat tour to Isla Espiritu Santo the very next day after we arrived. This is a very special trip in which you can explore this nature preserve with all its features, including swimming with sea lions! Richard and Gloria also gave us very good recommendations on places to eat in La Paz that were just right for our family. Hacienda Paraiso truly is a paradise oasis. It is a walled courtyard with several casita rooms that are independent. Inside the space there are palm trees, birds, flowers, a turtle, two cats and a parrot named Sassy! There is a beautiful mosaic pool and many places to explore and play in for a curious and independent child. I loved waking up with the sun and finding a spot outside under the palm trees to do my daily yoga practice, after which we were served a bountiful and delicious fresh breakfast, seated outside. Richard and Gloria have created a wonderful experience for guests. More than a B&B, this is a boutique inn that includes breakfast. Guest rooms are separate from the residence and face onto a spectacular courtyard with a pool as its centrepiece. There are many places to lounge and lots of room and privacy. Richard is an amateur scientist who can discuss many topics related to nature. He even has a lab on site for examining and cataloging specimens! He is more than happy to provide a tour if interested. We met some very nice people there during our three-day stay. It seems to attract like-minded individuals. We even went out for dinner as a group of eight to celebrate two birthdays, with Richard and Gloria joining us. It was a fun and memorable night. In terms of the nuts and bolts, our room (which had a library) was on the ground level, with two rocking chairs on the covered porch out front. Room and bathroom were great - room temperature was easily controlled and there was lots of hot water. The room has a king bed. Very comfortable. Breakfast included fruit and a hot entree and lots of good coffee. The location is a bit of a walk from the waterfront. A car would be useful or, even better, rent bikes for your stay, as the inn is just off the main bike path that is a showcase feature of La Paz. Highly recommended!…

As an unexpected guest - my friend invited me as my Airbnb wasn’t a very welcoming place - Richard and Gloria went out of their way to provide a comfortable and pleasurable stay for me. Their place is really beautiful and well maintained. It’s clean, it’s green and most importantly, it’s a tranquil haven in bustling La Paz. The chef worked well with our vegetarian diets and she made some delicious items for breakfast. A breakfast which has already a great variety of whatever you wish to eat! Thanks, it was great!

Hacienda Paraiso is a graceful oasis near central LaPaz. Our room was finely furnished, spotless, and quiet. The breakfasts, served in the patio, were great. Safe parking in the garage. On this 2nd visit, Richard and Gloria were oh-so-helpful arranging special day trips to explore Espiritu Santo Island and swim with whale sharks --- plus assistance securing mandatory covid tests. We plan to return next year!

We just returned from what I would call everyone’s hope that the place they stay at is everything anyone would ever want when you are going to a new place for the first time Hacienda Paraiso proved to be just that and more ! The owners Richard and Gloria provided us with the best accommodation and experience that while we were there we already started thinking of coming back. It’s not juat a place to lay our heads after exploring the charm of La Paz. It’s so nice to start your day with conversations at the table where breakfast is served. We laughed and laughed with stories shared . They are such a funny and lovely couple . Elvia did a great job making Mexican home made food and in cleaning our room which by the way represented the culture of Mexico . Every furnishings inside and outside is nicely done including the art displays. I could go on and on with how wonderful our stay was you’ll have to experience it. Richard and Gloria thank you so much for a memorable trip there .
