Everything was amazing , the location is insane , the staff was so kind , the beach is beautiful, u can go to the city by the monkey trail it takes about 7 minutes walking and its a beautiful experience
It is wonderful to stay in centara. It is very exotic location and a must go place. Rooms are extremely spacious and bful and very clean. Hotel staff is also good and cooperative. Although when I visited from june 21 to 23 one of the restaurant was not operational and I didn’t get Indian non veg food for my family. I m sure that’s a temporary closure. Would love to visit again. Awesome place with lovely see view and pvt. beach. Full marks to hotel.
Ferry services is very poor Even you booked in advance yiu have to suffer a lot Worst service ever I seen by a five star hotel No one help you to reach hotel Hotel staff is non co-operative on this and they answer bluntly on it Looks like you are in jail
Big Disappointment! My family has been planning this trip for 3 years, and Centara was to be the highlight/big spend. We started booking the trip about 9 months out in the hopes of Thailand opening up to Americans, not just the sandbox. We booked the Royal Villa at the end of January and it was indeed a great price. Our dates for June 3 thru June 7. Our arrival was exciting, I would say the most exciting arrival to a resort as I've ever had. We arrived on a longtail boat to their floating dock with some decent size waves.. It woke us all up from a day of traveling.. Then the rails came off: We walk to the desk in excitement, we couldnt wait to see the Royal Villa. It almost instantly got weird, they brought us to a room (club/suite members area) and offered us refreshments and light snacks. (the AC was not working that day in the club). The woman working there was delightful, probably the best part of our experience at Centara as we visited the club almost every day. After about 45 minutes of waiting, we were told that their system had an error, we had (and still have the printed out paperwork) saying with confirmation that we had the Royal Villa. Well we did not, they offered us a beach villa (about half the size) for half price.. It was that or we find another place. So, since we had kids and were exhausted, we decided to try and make the best of it. The room was nice enough and yes, steps from the beach and pool, so steps from the noise of the beach and pool, (not really relaxing). The next day we wake up to the unit being warm in the middle part of the villa (two rooms connected by a living space that can all be blocked off). We call the desk and they send someone to fix it.. and it gets fixed. Day 3, we go about our day, paddle board etc, and come back to the villa which now has two of the three units without AC. Another call, and another fix. That afternoon we head to the desk to book a private 3 Island tour for the next day, when we go out the next morning, we are told that it was not a private tour and we were 4 of 12 people on this trip.. Again, trying to make the best of it we go.. It was fine. We arrive back at Centara to a steady stream of water coming though a light in my son's bathroom, another call to engineering and they fix that. Now, this one might really gross people out, we are relaxing in the living room and can hear a scratching sound, so we get up to see what it is, and find a rat running up the wall and head into the ceiling (no i'm not kidding or making this up). We are from florida and understand if you have fruit trees, there are fruit rats around. It had been rummaging through the trash. We could not have been any happier the next day to check out. The setting is stunning, some of the staff were great, I think management needs to understand customer service a little better. It seemed while we were there that a majority of their clientele were from India, and had geared most of their food towards them.…
We took ocean view pool villa for anybody who wants to relax take beach front pool villa near restraunt as well there are many flaws in the hotel just listing few of them they have there own rules . I wont visit this property again neither these company hotels. 1st upon our check in I requested for beachfront pool villa instead of ocean view pool villa I was told it's not available. 2nd my mom dad who are senior citizen they were given the room on 1st floor we requested for the room on ground floor for which we were told it will happen next day but we didn't got. 3rd hotel has only 1 buggy for residents our room 2021 very far with kids very difficult we were told buggy is out of charge as soon as we exit the lobby see pepole riding in buggy. Buggy service takes toooooo long. 4th the ferry is always not available we reached little late so we had to pay hefty amount for ferry. 5th we order room service for veg club sandwich we got chicken sandwich. 6th light in room wasn't working mechanic came and said couldn't be changed so someone from front desk started LYING that it isn't light we are educated pepole can't be fooled.7th on the 1st day we were 10 minutes late from there ferry time we had to pay for transfer and next day when we went to shopping in krabi town pepole coming late 25-30 minutes were taken for free. Overall staff lies a lot. Services are poor . My suggestion not to go here and above all when you go to krabi take hotel in town many indian restraunts and more lively …
The location is excellent of the resort and the sunsets are to die for. The rooms are clean and very well done . The breakfast buffet is well spread with a seperate vegeterian counter. The restaurant is good with a vegetarian menu and good staff . The spa was good too with happy hours. What is lacking is the service especially the buggy service to the room. The revert time of any query is really slow here and all aspects be it spa, restaurant, reception etc could do with a little more finesse. We were not shown the resort well hence missed the monkey trail which I found out casually on my walk to the beach , had we known it , we would have done it. The pick up shuttle from the pier and drop off were on perfect time. The hotel helped us in organising a 4 island tour which was totally worth it. The kayak experience was also good. One suggestion kindly keep the timings of pool for longer .…
Centara Grand Beach Resort, Krabi has worst services. Rude staff & Dangerous Pier but exceptional view. It should not be considered as 5 star resort, Rating should be degraded to 3 star due to mentioned reasons below. 1) Booking: After even receiving confirmation, cross check if they are providing the same room which was originally booked My experience: While booking we wanted one bed-room beach front pool villa which was available on Centara Grand official website but then after following up next 4 days continuously, We got confirmation of the same room and then later upon cross checking, their reservation mentioned that the Villa is sold out for 1st day and then available for next 2 days. We still created this booking 1st night as Premier Deluxe ocean view room at 4400 Baht & 2 nights in one- bedroom beach front pool villa at 13000 baht per night. 2) Services: We expected good services since the price mentioned and offered was much higher than other resorts in Krabi but the resort failed all of our expectations. 3) Disembarkation: The Pier at Centara Grand Beach Resort is one of the most dangerous pier as the construction is temporary and the guest with children, elderlies can get injured easily with large pool of waves hitting the pier. So if you are visiting the resort with your children or aged person, the resort is not safe for you, My experience: I visited resort with my wife & 2 children aged 6 years and 9 months, We had a very hard time passing through the pier as no-one from the resort was even available to assist and guide us to walk carefully. Even the manager at the resort wasn't even bothered if the child are walking safely or not. 4) Check-in: The staff at the check-in counter are very rude, and can't communicate properly in English. They are not even bothered if someone is injured or not feeling well. They are just wanting themself to complete their formalities of check-in My experience: Our 9 month old child felt down from the couch and the person at the reception was not even bothered to even know if child is fine or not. He was just constantly urging us to provide passport copies in a hurry when child was even crying badly. Though child felt down in front of him. 5) Room: Rooms pictures and view displayed on their website are not actually the same. Upon asking them to provide same room, they mention that the picture on their website are not the same as original. My experience: As we booked 1st night in Premier deluxe ocean view room, The room was completely different than what is available on their website with very less space within the room to accommodate my family. I had a very time entire night to arrange furniture on my own in the room. 6) Room Service: Their room service is even more pathetic than anything else in the resort. My experience: My wife ordered for a fresh milk for our children & waited for 45 minutes to get a milk delivered with at-least 10 calls made at the reception . I requested to implement a baby cot & an extra bed for which we have to wait for again 60 minutes with multiple follow-up calls. 7) Staff behavior : Entire staff either at reception, room service, front-office is very rude and you can't expect any level of hospitality from this resort. My experience: The person at reception was very firm that I can escalate anywhere and he won't do anything and neither will do anything for the inconvenienced caused to us. The person, who came to implement baby cot and extra bed was alone and asked me rudely to help him to get the same implemented in the room for which I had no other option but to be treated as like a house keeping staff of the hotel to move furniture and spread best sheets on the extra-bed request by me. 8) Commutation: As the resort is on the mountains, you would have very hard time going to the restaurant or different area's since entire resort just have only one buggy. My experience: We have to wait for 30 minutes for the buggy to arrive and take us to the restaurant to have our dinner while the child couldn't walk due to hunger. 9) Front-office: No-one picks up the call in the front-office for 30 -45 minutes and specially after 10 pm. My experience: Called many times for reporting behavior of their house keeping staff but no one was bothered to pick the call. Conclusion: If you wish to jeopardize your holiday experience, go ahead and book this resort for your family. My experience: I have checked out from the hotel after staying for one night even without even being bothered to get refund of 2 nights.…
Our family Enjoyed this Marvellous property with pristine beach straight out of a Hollywood movie :) in the month of Jun-2022. Our kids spent the entire 2 days swimming, playing at the beach, snorkelling , etc and the setting of this resort is absolutely amazing. The monkey trail is super fun and well lit at night as well. Rooms are well thought and convenient as well as spacious. 2 thumbs up for the dedicated vegetarian section at breakfast. My 2 cents for the management : * We noticed that a sizeable number of Indian guests however , more Indian/vegetarian options in the food menu is needed. * The Pier is Not safe for use. When our group disembarked after a coming back from Ao Nang, quite a few guests actually fell down due to a big wave splash. An aged person may get seriously injured. It should be made pukka/ non moving. That said , our stay was absolutely fantastic.…
We were a family of 7 and stayed for 4 nights in 2 x Beach front 2 bedroom villas with a private pool. I would say this is the best property in Krabi but with a terrible access from mainland (more on this later & this is why only 3 vs 5 stars). The Villas were huge, very well furnished & maintained, fantastic views and properly taken care of by housekeeping on daily basis. The resort is beautiful with its landscaped gardens, multiple pools, a very clean private beach, beachfront dining etc. Everything is picturesque !! Some of the rooms up the hill can be quite a walk but they have buggies. I think we made the right decision to pay for beachfront villas to be on the beach. May is not peak season and Thailand is just seeing more tourists coming in. So only 1 restaurant was open with limited options, but food was quite good. The Japanese restaurant was open on Saturday and we loved the Teppanyaki, excellent chef !! If this resort was connected to Krabi by a road, I would have given 5 stars !! but the only way in is via boat or the monkey trail !!! The hotel speedboat service needs to be improved to accommodate guests, do additional runs. They seem to have 2 boats but use only 1 with hourly / 2 hr interval service to Ao Nang (nopartthara pier). Could see many angry guests who could not get a spot on the boat. Reserve well in advance but that takes away the fun of deciding something spontaneously. Or take a 1000 THB long tail each way. Also only the brave hearted would venture out in the sea after darkness. So no dinner options to go to , unless you use the monkey trail !! The jetty is made of rubber / plastic floats connected together and many of the handrails are missing. There were huge waves and the jetty bounces around dangerously. It was right in front of our villa and every time the boat came there were screams heard from terrified people !!! The hotel is waiting for an accident to happen !! They don't even bother to repair the broken center handrails !! On our way back the weather was bad and boat service was cancelled. The hotel bell boy escorted us through the monkey trail to Ao Nang, He was very courteous but the monkey trail is quite steep with few very bad steps. Its surely unsafe for the elderly, small kids and you need the right clothing (trekking). Quite strenuous option to do to & fro from Ao Nang !! If you are game for a jetty which is like a walking roller coaster without handrails or fit enough to do the monkey trail every time you want to go to Ao Nang or just want to stay a few days disconnected from the world, then this is the perfect resort. Otherwise avoid.... Would only visit again or recommend if I can see a proper concrete / wooden firm jetty installed by the hotel. I am sure they miss many repeat customers (surely us) just because of the access. Its a shame that such a beautiful resort has such terrible access....…
Positives 1. Nice , serene and fabulous property with immediate access to a clean and beautiful beach. Good infrastructure. Great pool. Nice rooms Negatives 1 . Service levels leave a lot to desire for . Don’t expect front desk to be very friendly Room service and house keeping is also not prompt 2 Restaurants had still relatively fine service but far from perfect .Morning breakfast could have limited options 3. In Bad weather - transfer from pier to property could be a nightmare. esp. when boat leaves you on edge of waterfront and you have to walk for 200metres on rocking sea 4 Buggy service ( electric cab ) from lobby to rooms is very poor P.s - Amidst all this a special thanks to Q, M, lorn and jack ( Nittaya ) for making our stay pleasant
