The road approaching the hotel certainly leaves something to be desired however upon arrival the impression is far better. The location is great for the beach, bars and restaurants of Krabi. We were given an upgrade on our rooms and the rooms provided were extremely spacious and comfortable. One let down was the service provided by housekeeping, upon arrival we only had 2 rather thin pillows. Before going out for the evening we requested a couple more at reception but unfortunately these were not delivered as promised. We had to ask again next day and also over our 4 night stay we had several instances of no towels, pool towels not replaced and replacements not being delivered following our request. The pool area was fine with large pools although the smaller Emerald Pool looked strange with hardly anyone using it. There were only 2 bars, one being at the pool but it could do with more seating around it which would attract more custom. The lobby bar was rarely used and lacked atmosphere, however plenty of choice of bars nearby. Breakfast was average , the egg station was ok with sometimes a small amount of bacon available. Choice however was lacking in comparison to rather 2 other hotels we stayed in on this trip. We would probably stay again if the price was right but it could be so much better.…
We stayed at the Krabi la playa for 2 weeks and had the most relaxing time. From the moment we turned up we were greeted by the kindest staff, they made us feel so welcome. I stupidly had booked the wrong room, I thought I’d booked a swim up room, when I realised my mistake Katie on front desk was so lovely, she found a room for us (we paid the extra which was so worth the money). Katie has so much knowledge of the area and was great for giving us advice on what was on and when. All the staff were so polite and nothing was to much trouble. The rooms are very comfortable, everything you need. The hotel is only a short walk in every direction to the markets, restaurants and beaches. I would highly recommend a stay at la playa so much so we are thinking of coming back in November!
We stayed in a swim up room around the emerald pool for 4 nights. The room was clean the A/C worked well, we liked the filter coffee facility also. The room was a decent size, clean, but tired in places. The beach bag, towels and beach mat were a nice touch. The pool access was convenient, you had a plunge pool and a ladder to access to main pool. It did feel cramped around there and used the main pool to lay around. The fridge in the room was empty and not stocked due to the close location of a 7/11 We had breakfast included in our package. So of the aspects of the breakfast was nice, a large selection of pastries, bread and fruit. Other selections of local dishes or sliced meat or sausages in ban-maries (these were cold!) there was a guy who did eggs at a station on the patio, where they served bacon, sometimes Thai sausages or chicken satay. Generally the bacon was cold, I made a choice of a pre cooked egg, again cold. I can only assume that the staff in breakfast area were under training or just lazy, as they didn’t attend to the tables as quickly as I have experienced in other hotels, they didn’t seem to monitor what needed replenishing as the I had to ask if they had some items that had run out. Location wise this hotel is just a short walk(5mins) from the sea front, where there are a multitude of dining options at competitive prices. There’s a 7/11 just 2 mins from the reception to get your snacks or drinks for your room. Whilst being critical of some of the aspects of La Playa, we plan to stay again the next we stop in Ao Nang, I’d also recommend it if the price is right…
This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful hotel. We returned here because on our first visit before lockdown we stayed one week and I was so relaxed this time I booked two weeks. From first entering the hotel to the time you leave you are treated to Thai hospitality at its best with friendly smiling faces at every turn. The rooms are very comfortable with a high cleaning code and all rooms look out onto either the pool or tropical garden. You are five minutes to the nearest beach , shops and ticket office for boats to the Islands. The hotel is completely immersed in the most beautiful palms and shrubs yet five minutes again to all the local shops. In my opinion one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at.
We stayed at the La Playa from 25th-29th October before leaving for Kaho Lak. We loved the location and Krabi is a fantastic place to visit. Hotel is near a small market with a ton of nice and reasonable places to eat. We had 2 large rooms with a pool view and our rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great for us, lots of choice and the staff were super friendly and helpful. For the price this hotel was great value. Few reviews mention a service charge on drinks, which is pretty normal in Thailand, if you don’t want to pay the extra pop along to a 7/11 to grab some cheap Chang instead! We would like to visit Krabi again and would have no issues booking to stay here for a second visit.
We loved this hotel! It was the first hotel we stayed at in Thailand and was a fantastic experience. The staff are so helpful particularly Daisy on Reception and Mon and his team in the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant every night and the food was delicious it was always quiet though. Do give it a go though as you won’t be disappointed. The hotel is in a great location near to a little street market and a short walk to the shops and bars. The beach was a short walk. Our room was lovely overlooking the sea. This hotel isn’t fancy but so comfortable you won’t want to leave! We loved little touches like the beach bag with beach mat and all the bathroom products felt luxurious. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We stayed at La Playa resort on our honeymoon in Thailand. We loved Krabi as a Town but the hotel was terrible. Except for the person who carried our bags, the staff were unfriendly and very unhelpful. The tour operator was wholly unwilling to assist us in any way and we opted to rather book day tours in town where we were able to be assisted. The Hotel photographs well, but that is about it. Only the foyer and pool is in a good condition. Walls are cracked and chipped all over the place, the walls and floors were dirty and the towels in the room even worse. The bedding on the bed also had holes in and were torn. The hotel lift is terribly old and unpredictable and the likelihood of getting stuck is very high. The breakfast buffet was really dissatisfying and the waiters were unhelpful. I ordered a coke as the juices were undrinkable and the hotel added an automatic service fee. I can accept that VAT be added, but clients should be informed. The spoke I received was clearly not properly washed and the plate was in a very poor condition. The general feeling of the hotel is stingy. You get one towel and only one, all ready used, toilet roll in the room. You also only get one water upon checking in. I suppose that we did technically get a see view room that we paid for, but I was extremely underwhelming. Not recommended.…
The staff was so friendly, helpful and always smiling. They made sure our stay was one to remember. I would definitely recommend staying at the resort. The location is also great, close to Ao Nang Beach, you have a lot of shops in the area, and so much more..
Amazing hotel, Everything was faultless. From the rooms to food all great! Great location, a short walk to the beach and a well stocked shop pretty much at the end of the street. We had a free pool access room upgrade and it was so nice having the availability to take a dip whenever we wanted in the comfort of our own room! The staff on reception were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us sort mo Ped rental which we were skeptical about as we have heard some stories with this. But with their help calling a reliable one we were on the road😎. They also helped us navigate to certain places we were visiting and letting us know where to park etc. We also had a small problem with no aircon in our room one evening. This was due to a external problem with the aircon units as it had rained very hard that evening. They could not fix our aircon but were extremely apologetic and let us have/use another room 2 doors away to move into or just sleep in. So we had 2 rooms for the remainder of our stay. They had staff ready on hand to help us move our stuff if we decided to move into the new room. When leaving the hotel and getting about 1 hour away, my partner had realised she had left their earrings in the room we have just checked out off. We mentioned this to a helpful lady and driver who were taking us to our next spot. After a few calls back to the hotel, they had found them and agreed to send them from the hotel to where we were staying at in Phuket. They arrived next day in Secure packaging free of charge. Another great touch😁 Overall would recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!🙂…
What a great little hotel. Superbly clean, staff excellent could not do enough for us. We stayed here for 10 days and wished it was longer. Thank you for making our holiday so memorable. Also the lady who booked our trips in the hotel, she made them very special xx
